I’m a beginning angler in Georgia, and so far I’m learning so much just from watching your videos! They’re full of useful information, and just so fun to even watch. I love how full of energy you are, and just how much passion you have for the sport. And I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to make these videos which are so very helpful!

I love these videos. I like how you are just a down to earth genuine guy. I feel like unlike so many pros you would sit down and have a conversation with any and everyone of us and not feel like we are wasting your time. Never change, I have to admit I haven't known who you were for long, but since you first appeared with rob terkla on his channel, you have been my absolute favorite pro to watch.

I took a 9 year break from fishing, life and family got busy, it happens. Good friend of mine started fishing and talked me back into it. Shared your channel with me and I have to say I have the bug again. Really enjoy following your series this last month as I get back into the swing of things. Learning to use a baitcaster this last week and really enjoying it again. Keep them coming.

With all the great comments we all feel the connection and blessed to be here to see it all come together...

I enjoy the videos a lot. You share more than you have to and let us see what the tournament life is like. I stay at Osage Bluff marina at Truman lake in Missouri. I got the privilege of spending a few days with your dad, Walt Reynolds and Jason Reynolds a few years ago when your dad was there filming a few shows. You guys are great Sportsmen. Thanks for the great content!!

Great 20/20. I like how you said that you should’ve moved when you were catching 4 pounders consistently. I just had that same thing happen to me on a tournament. On the next tournament I moved for the bigger fish and won 1st place. (Small tourney) appreciate these so Yourself and all of us can learn.

  • @russb296
    @russb296 6 років тому

Scott you're without a doubt the best out there on UA-cam as far as the professional tournament fishermen and you have absolutely nailed it as far as having the best video editor.!! You've taught Brandon so well that he has become quite a fisherman even if he is a bit unorthodox and off the wall at times!!... I mean jumping into the water to land that fish in this tournament? Or the tournament with Jacob wheeler where he jumps into Lake Champlain to try and find his spinner worm...lol... can it get any better than that?? If it can I'm sure you guys will find a way to do so!
I really think you should consider talking him into becoming a co-angler for next season. He might not be at Billy's level yet but let him fish a couple of tournaments as a co-angler and he'll be right up there!! Not to mention the content you could capture while doing so! Considering where Brandon was at the start of this season with his spinner worm and where he is now is pretty impressive!!!
If I were ever to get a chance to fish with you it would be a dream come true, and I'm not a young kid... Matter of fact I'll be 54 next Monday... I started my Tournament Fishing career watching your dad compete( the bass tournament on the Connecticut River out of Hartford is one that comes to mind). To this day the intro music (by Bobby Bare) to your dad's show runs through my head on a regular basis when I am out on the water.....(" He's the Great American fisherman he'll fish anywhere, anywhere there's water god knows he'll be there")
What a true fishing family you have! I thank you very much for what your family has done for the sport! I hope to someday make it down to Clewiston and meet you and your dad ! And in a perfect world fish with you both or at least one of you!!
Can't wait for the Forrest Wood Cup at Lake Ouachita! You are the man to beat in my opinion... the year that you've had, as well as your success on that lake in the past...... I sure wouldn't bet against you!! Keep up the great work and content on the channel and above all God Bless!!!!... forgive me for the long-winded comment.

Those small mouth bass are beautiful. It was fun to watch the catch, see you work the Panoptics, & see the righteous competition. Thanks for sharing the experience & hope you win. You’re the real deal just like your Dad, & Brandon is a keeper. His Hail Mary jump for bass should count big time.

You know what? Every damn video I see from SM makes me feel happy. Not like wimp happy but I say, "DAMN, that's a good man. Interesting, honest, god fairing and just all around cool dude." I've not had one single video where I've gone, "C'mon SM get to it...COME ON, SCOTT, GET TO THE FRIGGING POINT OR THE CATCH OR THE BAIT" or whatever. You're legit, kick ass and are REAL. There aren't a whole lot of 100% real on UA-cam now in the world of rewinds, editing and claitBAIT(har)ing.
Anyways, keep it up S/M. Not a lot of fisherman making kids want to spend a day in the sun with annoying frigging bugs and crap fish or not. There are a whole lot more from your dedication to making fishing fun again. To underlining that putting a big fish on a line is ONE HELL of a lot more stimulating than spending the same amount of time on the internet playing zero value games that disappear the second you log out and go to bed.
Nabbing a big fish...that's a memory forever and you won't EVER log that memory out.

I don't know how you do it but for a man in your position and stature you have a good dose of humility! I don't know if accepting the loss is the correct way to say it but just for you to admit number one that you lost and why you lost how you lost is refreshing at least to me anyway! Keep up the good videos and I know this was an older one from back in 2018 but it was one that somehow I missed so now I'm caught up!

I’m going to agree with you about PLine Tactical. I just started fishing with it this year after watching you fish with it. It is absolutely the best fluorocarbon I’ve ever fished with. Tough as they come and you can land some amazing bass on 8#, 10# and 12# Line. I was running a Carolina rig Monday on 12# pline Tactical and at those 12-15 foot depths immediately felt the strike and had no fear of fighting the bass. Knot strength is amazing with PLine. The more you talk about Googan Baits the more comfortable and intrigued I get with them. I’m may wait out the initial frenzy but I will fish them here in the near future. Looking forward to FWC, God Bless Brother! ✝️✝️✝️🎣🎣🎣

Would love for you to come check out the Inland Waterway in Northern Michigan. You can fish from Lake Huron, up the Cheboygan river, to mullet lake, Indian river, Burt lake, crooked river and crooked lake. All connected. Mullet and Burt have amazing smallmouth. There’s largemouth scattered throughout. Pike, musky, salmon/trout, drum, catfish, panfish. It’s kind of a fisherman’s paradise. At least a fisherman with a boat 😂😭

Scott is the man, no doubt. No one is perfect, though, so I have a couple of questions. When watching the video from day 3, I actually commented out loud my concern that he would lose that first fish due to what I thought was an non-existent hookset. Compare it to the hookset on the first fish that he did manage to net. I would also question his decision to spend so much time running down to the south end of the lake, especially on day 3 when, as he said, he had to "swing for the fences." Am I wrong to question this? It certainly does not mean that I think I am nearly as good a fisherman as Scott Martin. God, no. I'm just wondering if Scott got stuck on a pattern & if maybe he missed that first fish on day 3 by not setting the hook properly, possibly as a result of not having his mind quite in the moment due to the lingering sickness and the distraction of worry over the results that he needed for the day. I'm trying to learn, both from Scott's successes and his losses, so I'm asking.
