I treat the game like one big episode of interdimensional cable. I found it enjoyable for the most part. My favorite part was the Buck Thunder 2 bit in the very beginning, I laughed my ass off through the whole thing.

He didn't make you creep around McDonalds for sauce, the insane R&M fandon made you do that! Rick is clearly portrayed as acting insane for desiring Mulan chicken nugget sauce so much. Like the alien interrogator even tells him "Rick you're looking for a chicken nuggets sauce while your brain is melting" and at the end of the episode in thr garage Morty is creeped TF out that Rick is suddenly sp obsessed with a McNugget sauce all of sudden

Pickle Rick comparison was on point. Humor in this game vary very much, at its best it can be pretty good (tutorial piece was great), but mostly it is pretty average or worse. And the worst part it tries too hard. And just like with 'pickle rick' joke, you can see how dumb their jokes can go. Not just bad, dumb.
I thought that episode was actually a pretty interesting exploration of Rick's ridiculous levels of ingenuity and willpower, his ruthlessness and dysfunctions, and a weird russian legend I'm pretty sure they made up but which still struck an unexpected chord. Also I feel like maybe it held a mirror up to him and he at least briefly started to see how silly it was to go to those lengths just to avoid a little family therapy? The therapist herself was pretty well written and relatable, also, IIRC.
People forget that the humor was "dated" back then, too. BarcaLoungers, betamax... All these items were defunct for 10+ years by the time Gex showed up. That was part of the joke - He was out of touch with the real world, by choice.

nice video, but i don't get why people complain about the dialog frequency. That's the fun part, whitout it is just a normal shooter, mediocre at best. it was one of the best games i played last year.
It was alright for a bit, but as time went on the jokes really got old quick. Especially with the inter-dimensional cable on TV as well. Basically don’t get an escape from the jokes, like a crackhead comedian
This game's humor seems as subtle and creative as the subtle and creative reference to the heroes of back to the future in the show's name. Now I'm glad I never bothered to check it out.
Visually and Artistically this game is amazing, and the ideas are great. But it's really the price that bugs me. In the UK, it's £50 , and that's basically $60 for 4 Guns, a Melee Knife who never speaks again apart from when you beat an overly easy Boss, and fun but very simple gameplay
You can actually turn down how often the guns talk in the menu. I had a blast playing it. Not every joke lands and the story is pretty basic, but the game play is solid and the guns handle really well. For a "comedic" game it definitely could've been worse. If you have game pass I recommend you try it out.

I think the Roiland hate colored this; it is genuinely funny and ingenuitive, and fresh. If you don't get caught up in the overplayed zeitgeist of the show, it is a breath of silly fresh air.

The dialogue is the best part of the game, especially the guns. Hilarious.
