9:29 Awesome critique on an amazing song. By the way, my late Stepfather, Dicky Overbey, wrote that song. He played for and recorded with Hank Jr. several years.
I’m a huge hank jr fan and rarely do I see a reaction to a song I didn’t know. I even know hank jr “the doctor song” but you got me. I guess is before his Friends album?
Don said " This is going to be fun" LOL Your reaction was priceless. You're right I did wanna see you squirm like I did when I first heard it . That's 2 songs now that I've requested where you've said "Shiiaatt!" That cracks me up! Everyone that has experienced a divorce and the new man comes in the picture can feel something from that song. As usual I enjoyed it. Thank you sir!
@Mudd Patterson Ha!! You got me good on that one, and you’re so right about relating to songs if you’ve experienced a divorce. The range of emotions comes right back and gets you all over again, for better or worse!
Well this one certainly hit a note with me. I hadn't heard this one before, but my first wife used the phrase "what's mine is mine, and what's yours is mine" as she left. Too close for comfort! And your idea of George Jones is right on the money - I even looked up the song to see who wrote it (Dicky Overbey). Thanks Mudd for a great request, and Don for another perfect reaction!!
@@carolinasbeauty Thanks! I was lucky as a kid I got to listen to a lot "free form" radio, and I got to experience a lot of different music. When I was in high school I was working as technician for the local radio station ("Lakeshore Family Radio" in Montreal). While I was there they went 24 hour Country and I was fortunate enough to see the big shows they brought into town - Webb Pierce, Bill Anderson, and Buck Owens to name a few. Then in University pop music ruled the day, but I went "full country" when pop went hiphop/rap, which doesn't really work for me. Fortunately that was just about the time Country was starting what turned out to be a really excellent era (mid 80s through the 90s). My first re-acquaintance with Country was Reba's album "Whoever's in New England"; I bought it for 49 cents as the store was getting rid of all their vinyl records! And as is obvious I guess, I haven't looked back. Have a great day and best of the season to you!
Well, this is a new one for me also! Kind of kicks you where is hurts most with just the line about what's yours and mine are yours and his. OUCH!! Great request Mudd and also a fantastic reaction/review, Don. I have a new request coming up for the season. I'll have to double check to make sure you haven't already reacted to it. Have a great week - Don and friends!
Don can you please do a reaction to Restless Heart fast moving train I’ve been looking for a couple years and I’ve not seen a reaction to it I think the song is a lyrical masterpiece with absolutely amazing harmonies
Hank JR, could really sing a country song when he wanted to, this was a good one, thanks for requesting this one Don, I would like to request a song by Mel Street, the song is named "The Town where you live" thanks I've listened to Hank JR, for years and I have never heard this song, man this was one hell of a song Jez I'm with you Don, this one a rough to take. Hell of a request by you Mutt, and a great reaction by you Don. Thanks
Loved the reaction and what a great song it was. Had never heard it. If you ever get a chance, could you do a reaction of the song Irene by The Clarks?
I’m starting to get your mindset. I thought you would give it a 9.8. I think I’ve guessed the last 3 out of 4 ratings. Am I starting to think like you or are you starting to think like me? Could be scary!😅
-21c here today good day for whiskey, weed and loud music to cold for the lawdogs to come out and play. 3 cords and the truth that's horseshit and gunsmoke music... keep your papers dry ... HAKAD

I think this was released in 1979

@scottandal Now we can start a movement, like a ratings church or something!
Get off it!! HWJR knows exactly what he is doing.
Can you react to George Jones where the tall grass grows buddy
Hank JR’s new album is just as good as anything he’s ever put out. You should checkout the title track Rich, White, Honky Blues.
