You may be waiting a long time for a new 'Army Men' game, 3DO's gone bust. It'll take something like 'Toy Story' to re-ignite peoples interest in Army Men.
isaacesturt 2k Games owns the rights to the franchise now, and while a new Army Men game probably wouldn't sell very well, that's exactly why they shouldn't release a bunch of them in a very short amount of time. That's what 3DO did and that's what got them bankrupt.
+ROFLMASTUR What got 3DO's backrupt has nothing to do with Army Men, but their horrible bet on their own console, the 3do Multiplayer System, they literally dumped almost all their revenues on the project, hoping it would take off and put 3do on the big picture of console market. When the sales were very modest at best, things quickly went downhill (and you can clearly see that with the quality of their games) and ultimately lead them to bankrupsy.

ROFLMASTUR I think the "pumping out of many AM games" were an effect of the console's failure. 3do wanted to quickly recoup their losses with as many sales as possible, so they made many sub-part AM games in hopes to avert bankrupsy. Maybe, as you say, if 3do had made fewer, but more quality games their future could have gone another route (but sadly, i dont think any game, no matter its quality could have save them). For better or worse the Army Men series will live on our memories, at least for now. Check out Army Men 3 (fanmade) tho, its an awesome game in style of Sarge's Heroes!
