The new token makes sense with the multiverse theme. You essentially are changing into different variants of your captain from different alternate universes.
I totally get how he feels. I've had an Alien with a Vorta costume since a LONG time back. Which I found odd.... Ahh man, here I thought it would be a quality-of-life improvement for meaningful things, like opening lock boxes/phoenix boxes, inventory management, or over-all less dialogue box clicking. Leveling up my Delta recruit, it's astounding the number of times I have to click on buttons to accept one thing or another, over and over and over again. This past weekend, during the upgrade event, I double-clicked on 300 phoenix boxes..one...at...a...damn...time. Yeah, I can double-click really fast, but can't I just select to open all of them at once??? This game is definitely starting to feel old and the UI really shows it.
I'm glad to get Sela/Denise Crosby back! I hope we get more of the prime universe's Sela - I was enjoying her story arc Very excited for the captain changes coming!
I think you may be right about the S31/Control angle of the alternative Borg Delete Alt Control isn't just a mirror of Control Alt Delete, but it's literal. We are deleting the alternate Control. Delete Alt Control :D
If there are alternate Aetherian ship concepts out there (I've not seen it and you're the second person to mention its existence to me without showing it), then I feel this lockbox ship will be one of them and the Harmony-type will either be the 15th anniversary ship (with proton weapons as mission reward) much like the Compiler was, Or the main prize for a full Aetherian lockbox.
This is probably one of the best rewards I've ever seen from an event, but dunno what ship I want. Maybe the Breen shops, because they look awesomely alien
The Bajoran Interceptor will likely be the popular choice because of it's console, but if you already have it or dont care about dps, then yeah, just pick something for space barbie.

Never understood the appeal of the Typhon. There's no way they'd put 3 hangar bays on a ship, that would be over powered, and who know if the servers could handle it.
I want that torpedo to be an epg version of the maelstrom. Otherwise I can't be paid to care. Le's all be real here. OR.... maybe just epg friendly. About those rewards though... That's fat gimmies.
Good breakdown of the upcoming rewards! I'm excited for those. With regards to the story, happily, Super Starfleet and their MacGuffins will handily defeat the latest Borg, formerly known as a threat, in half the episode. I'm not sure I'll play the episode because Borg episodes, since Voyager showed us all that is required to defeat the entire collective is a moderately advanced ship and a plucky crew, are overused and exceptionally boring now. I miss the civilization-ending Borg threat from TNG.
Hi Stu, would it be possible to do some in-depth videos on research along with crafting and obtaining all the different stuff needed, like where to get them from Free 2 Play. Also explaining how to read and understand all the information boxes with weapons, shields, etc. I know it's a massive undertaking but for thick sods like myself, whose just joined the game (I'm now level 47) and I don't understand alot of these CtrlD or CritD/CritH and all these other shortened phrases in brackets. I'd rather have the Type 11s from Insurrection, and I really want the Lower Decks shuttles, but yeah, still plenty more shuttle hangar pets we need in the game.
TYPE 11 AND THE ARGO!!! With a new battle zone for shuttles, flying air support, and the ARGO rover for ground teams!!! Thinking maybe like War Thunder arcade battle mode. You start in a ground ARGO rover and can trigger the ability to fly a shuttle for 2 minutes and support ground forces. Since that is unlikely due to the games, age and code may be just an Argo rover race course.
@@Stu1701 Type 9 first due to sheer screen time: it is the single most commonly used shuttle in Voyager (30 episodes!) and we have had its Type 8 counterpart for ages. Then Type 11 followed by Data's scout ship from Insurrection (The Venture Class in Armada II) and the Type 6A from Lower Decks. Type 9 is also the only Federation shuttle other than the Danube where you can see the weapons, the Phaser Strips are on the nacelle pylons.
With the Mirror Universe stuff from last year and this. I wonder if you'll end up facing a Borg Queen/King version of your character like you did the Inquisitor during the Terran arc before this is done.
I like this game a lot and I play it more than any online game I am sick and tired of the mirror universe. it becomes boring and stale having the same thing over and over again. if you look through the chapters of every mission. always has the mirror universe.
I'd like to see them add the ability to buy a pack of Bridge Officer upgrade tokens to the Phoenix Prize pack and perhaps Captain upgrade Tokens. would be a good use for the Gold tokens so many of us have.
So interesting thing is that the Jemhadar Faction is the only faction I think that does not have a "Alien" option so I'm wondering if it means that they are going to add the Founders to the Jemhadar Faction s that you can "shapeshift" into other species...
as i said in the video, the species change will be limited to other playable species within your character's faction. Jem'hadar do not currently have access to Aliens, so you likely won't be able to change your Jem'hadar into one. And Changelings aren't a playable species, so you definitely won't be able to turn into them.
I've wanted this for year, but I think Cryptic's solution to that was Mudd's and they seem fine with that, unfortunately. Even if they did make this token, there's no way it'd be that cheap.
@@Stu1701 First of all, Cryptic is out now, DECA is at the helm. And they might well prove more bold and generous. Also, Lockbox and promo ships already are very expensive to acquire as single character unlocks. So such a token couldn't and shouldn't be that much more expensive, maybe up to 3000 Zen to match it with a C-store and Mudd's bundle option ship.

Wonder if the Captain change tokens will require you to change the look of your Captain. If you change from say a human to an alien will we have to use the standard alien look choices?
i wonder if i can then change my Alien to a main race for my first fed tac. I already rerolled the fed tac as a Caitian, but i refuse to delete the old tac as he has a Tuffli Freighter, and while i have the account wide fed kobab and kdf version....i love the look of the tuffli.
If they take questions from streamers like yourself on the next 10 Forward Weekly, ask them why they cut the Red Alert event short on xbox (not sure about playstation). A lot of us were at 9 of 10 and then it ended like a week earlier than they stated. It's ridiculous.

We know there can be multiple Unimatrixes. Assuming each Unimatrix is basically built around a "Queen/King" like an ant nest, It would make more sense. I'm probably wrong, but since it's never really explained how the Borg work, it's as good an explanation as any.
I could see it being problematic to code the "Free" version to the "Premium" version, especially since it would only be used for maybe 2 races (Vanguard and Trill/Paired Trill)
Hopefully, this will work for zen store races that have been bought like changing my OG character from human to liberated borg, joined Trill, Caiten, or Cardassian. If it only allows for the base species of the facton, I don't see this token being as very impactful on the "QUALITY OF LIFE" as most ppl would want.
I think the lobi and the free epic token are very good for free to play players and new players not for people who own everything in the game. I think it's great for people who don't have a ton of money to spend on the game.
I know there are going to be a lot of people happy about the Epic Phoenix token, and I certainly get why. It's just that there are going to be a portion of the player-base, like myself, where that Phoenix token has little value because they haven't updated the the Phoenix store in years.
Phoenix tokens and ships acquired with them are usually not tradeable/sellable. You can sell ships bought with Lobi though. But 500 isn't enough for a ship.
Kinda pointless, given that the Romulan faction characters already have to ally with either of them. And if you really want to have a Fed faction Romulan, you can just make an Alien that looks like a Romulan, all the Romulan parts are there (which are really just pointed ears and a some forehead options) in the character creator for them.

Hopefully there are other short TFOs for the event. The new ground TFO doesn’t appeal to me. The Lobi and Phoenix token are good rewards. Mute and break esc key on the cut scenes for the next episode as I really can’t stand the Sela character. Didn’t like Denise Crosby in TNG at all. Another gambling box ship, so holds no interest for me. I play everyday so the event will be done anyone, just one more TFO to do. Would rather have had a token to swap careers first than the species change token. Or if they could have done both.
The next event is not part of the Event Campaign, its a new event for the next part of the story. Event Campaign segments always consist of events of older TFOs, never new ones.
Vorta aren't fighters. Never have been - the primitive tribe that saved a Founder did so by hiding, not fighting. The Jem'Hadar are the designated warriors of the Dominion, and all of this is through genetic engineering, not breeding, so you're not going to get a "rare Vorta" who can actually captain a starship effectively.
@DeaconBlues117 so geneticly splice a Jem'hadar with a Vorta. Call it what you like but the jem'hadar faction needs more playable races the just jem'hadar or jem'hadar vanguard. Even if the faction is given an alien class that could be made to look like a Founder or Vorta would be welcome and maybe an incentive to have more then on dominion toon.

Not to be a Debbie downer, but I was really disappointed by the quality of life update. I love STO but it’s really showing it’s age and feels like it’s being held together by duck tape and bubble gum. I hope they eventually do an engine or graphical update (or both), if that’s even possible.

Eh, a lockbox/promo ship account unlock token is long overdue. Make it somewhat around 1000-2000 Zen and it'll sell like hotcakes.

the captain change token is somewhat less useful as it won't change a Jem Hadar to purchased "Vanguard" Jem Hadar.

They confirmed on Twitter today that the Red Alert event on console ended early by accident and will be back up soon so you can finish it.

Only thing i wish they would include in the game is a token to allow u to put an experimental slot on any ship.

You just play the next campaign event for 14 days and claim it? Just like any other event rewards.
It's a reward for the next event
The next event is not part of the Event Campaign, its a new event for the next part of the story. Event Campaign segments always consist of events of older TFOs, never new ones.
When will this update hit consoles? I am a lifetime subscriber on ps4.
No date has been announced for console yet, xbox and playstation typically get things a month or two after pc.
