Hi Chloe! Thanks for watching! Work more side kicks and think about getting your heels up and your butt under...adding 2lb. ankle weights while practicing might help too...then when you practice without the weights, your legs might fly higher!

I'm in the 7th grade th. But soon it will be summer ans then the 8th grade. I wanted to try out for our school's dance team and wanted to practice on my right and left leg splits, death drop, front and back roll overs, toe touch, heel stretch, etc. I will try this and see if works!!

okay this is a little strange but when I do a straddle and reach out like to the middle I can go pretty close to the ground but only if my friends pulls my hands gently , what can I do so I can do this by myself ?
You can do it with your hands apart thats the athletic way to do it and one leg is higher than the other probably because one side of her body is way more flexible than the other and it throws it off. Our coach told us to stretch evenly and do both sides so that doesn't happen.
Jay Morgan some people actually practice doing this with ankle weights on a trampoline and yes it is possible to do it with weights even on a normal floor
I stretch a lot and try to make my touch toe higher but I just can't and people say roll your hips back I don't understand how you do that... Any advice
Madi Maxwel I have had the same problem for the past 3 years of my cheerleading career. I just figured out how to do it correctly just 5 days ago. The only way I can describe it, is to squeeze your butt, almost like when your flexing. That will automatically help rotate your hips. If you have a strong core, you will be able to 'crunch' in your jump as well. This doesn't over-extend your jumps as far as I know, but it does get your knees facing the ceiling. I hope this helped!
Hi Coach Meggin! I have a question. Does weight affect the height of a toe touch? I'm 5'4 and I know I weigh around 140-160. My toe touch isn't as high as I wish it could be and I'm working on losing weight to be more fit. Will losing weight also help get my toe touch higher, if it affects the height. I made it into my high school varsity cheer team and a toe touch is a must so I'm trying to get it high enough. Thanks for any help!
MusicIsLife You can't "loose weight in a particular area" That is not how the body works. It's physiologically impossible. Obviously improving fitness will help though. (lower fat % not necessarily lower "weight" since you can loose weight by also loosing muscle which is of no value and very unhealthy)
