With all my admiration for the beautiful work, I think it could have been made much more delicate, without losing its usefulness. I have a similar one in my Land Cruiser, made of 16mm stainless steel pipes and it can withstand two people walking on it (~180 kg).
Looks fantastic! Is the tin to roof thick enough to hold the roof bolts? I have an 87 TT and want to install a roof rack but an not sure whether to drill and bolt or mount to the rain channel.

I've got a question. When you drilled your roof didn't you think of water leaking inside and getting awful rust? Have you prevented this problem with installing rubber insulation as well?
nice car ! But i think that if the lights was 3 gonne be better( litle bit seperate betwen them 2-3sm and position in midle of the top ) , 4 is too much ...
Sweed 777 not sure the exact weight, took 2 people to lift it into place mostly because of the odd shape and keeping it from scratching the paint. If I had to guess I’d say around 150lbs

Anything that bolts to thin sheet metal will not stay on for long , I want to see you driving off road and get your roof basket caught on a lower branch.

EivinSukoi took it Offroad all the time, never had an issue, plus it’s bolted into the hinge area and along the rain gutters wish are strong.
