How long paracord needed for a 3 feet leash? TIA!
You make it look so easy. Thank you for teaching me how to do this!
Thank you 🙂
Very cool! I’ve always wanted to know how to make these
I am trying to tie a dog leash hv two colors of paracord. But folded in half I hv 4 pieces and tying a sharks tooth knot dog leash 10' long and have the end Clio already in and have about 1foot already tied. I am looking for some knot if there is that I can tie on the end by the clip either a ball or something about 2" long along the leash. Also can or is there a way I can tie into existing leash to make a handle that also lays flat onto the leash and how to tie the end loop handle. Wanted a handle built into leash about 2 feet from the end of Clio for close quarter walking or quick grab so I can pull dog towards me. Like a bull riders rope the handle of the rope thanks guys great jobs
Great video, when practicing, I notice that you can leave the ends of the four cords long, leaving a short tail at the end of the handle loop.
how is the end finished off??????????????????????????????????
After you tie the finishing knot cut the paracord and melt the ends. I use a lighter to melt the ends.
how long are the strings initially?
Hello, Thank you for the comment. Here is the information on the amount of paracord I used for the small leash I made in the video www.paw-palz.com/diy-paracord-dog-leash-4-strand-snake-knot/
Omg this is so simple and appears to be durable and I can easily make it tri in stead of duo for my service dog harness handle, the one on her harness is to small and awkward for me to grab.
Have fun! I hope it works out well for your service dogs harness handle.
How did you know when to start the handle?
If the paracord needed for this knot is 12:1 (12” per 1” of leash legit) you can start the handle when you have about 6 feet left.
How many feet of rope would I need to make a 5 feet leash?
You will need two pieces of paracord at 60 feet each to make a 5 foot leash. This will likely leave you with some paracord left over also.
Is there a name for the knot at the end of the leash handle? Thank you!
Sheri - It is called the footrope or turks head terminal knot.
Paw Palz thank you! My daughter and I are working on a dog collar leash set as a 4-H project so the video and you additional answer is greatly appreciated.
