It was such a silly decision... dunno why you would play Harvetz in the midfield when have Partey and Georgino on the bench.
Arteta is a complete joke, this is not a time for experiment but a time to win and defend matches, Zinchenko is not good at left stop using, why did he take off white and leave him there. Starting Rice alone at midfield without any better midfielder to help him, hoping the same Zinchenko to help him. At a crucial point of the season he brought up his joke form of a manager.

You people need to stop putting blame on Zinchenko and Jesus. Every loss Arsenal has suffered were solely on the garbage goalkeeping decisions made by David Raya!! I'm not sure what games you guys watch but you can not deny the mistakes Raya consistently makes. Yes, he stepped up in that penalty shootout but that was it. He makes poor decisions, he's not tall enough and he does not like to get physical down low when crowed.

As a villa fan it feels like people keep underestimating us, all the pundits were talking about the top 3 race and hardly giving villa a chance, but we've been 4th for a long time with the odd moment of change and we've beaten Man City convincingly when we had a full squad and done the double over Arsenal now, it really felt like nobody gave us a chance this weekend, and we could have won 4 nil but for the woodwork

I'm in my late thirties. If you're of a similar age, this should be of absolutely no surprise. Arsenal have been faltering when it matters for 20 years-it's baked into our DNA at this point. And it's precisely that reason that I never ever got carried away with the run this team has been on. Is it over? No. But at the very least they better take it to the final day and ask the question.

We lost the midfield battle today - even if Havertz made a couple of good runs in the first half, the midfield is not right when he plays midfield. Only Odegaard comes to pick up the ball from defenders in our construction play and that’s not sufficient when we play against compact defensive units…Jorginho is quite useful to make good passes through lines, also we are more efficient in the pressing game with him and he offers more defensive protection to the back 4
Only god knows why ESR came on the pitch but the fact that he supposed to be fight to start more yet he is walking after 3 minutes on the pitch is absolutely shambolic.
He is finished at this club. He was bottling 50-50 tackles within 30 seconds of being on the pitch. Absolute joke as a player

So strange how we came out so jaded 2nd half. I think this is on Arteta for 3 reasons: 1. Strange changes to winning formation and lineup; 2. Failure of halftime team talk; 3. Subs came on too late.

I think had Liverpool not already played and lost, we would have seen a very different game. Having said that, the misconception everybody had in January when fans called for a new striker signing was that we needed a goal scorer when what we really needed was a gamechanger, someone who could get the ball and produce magic on his own, score free kicks, create something unexpected. We don’t have that, only ball passers.
Villa were by far the better team and fully deserved It.

He failed, We had a great move which needed him to finish, he stood on the penalty spot watching the game instead of attacking the space, it would have been a tap it.

Zinchenko attacking wise isn’t a thing anymore but defensively he’s STILL mistake mistake that have lost us games. With Kiwior in the PL our defence was great. We have been proving the point for the entire calendar year that we don’t need Zinny overloading the midfield to win a game. Given we all know his weaknesses and how good Villa is, why go for this rotation this game? We could have done that against Wolves next weekend actually. I think Arteta underestimated Villa.

Villa had something to do with you not scoring in the first half too. Don't for a moment think that Emery planned tactically for two halves: 1st half contain, defend and grow into the game, test the waters and take any opportunities; 2nd half tighten up, increase possession and go for it.
5:57 and there it is James. And what's changed in our team this week? Zinchenko and Jesus. Villa chose to come at us 2nd half, Zinchenko and Gabriel come under pressure on that left hand-side, and what happens? We get exposed. No balance in midfield to cover it because Arteta moved Havertz back into the middle, Rice has to be in two places at once, and then we're losing control of the game without a proper CM beside Rice, despite Partey AND Jorginho sitting on the bench. McGinn ran the game today 2nd half. Arteta is at fault. We lost control of the last two games because the setup was too attack-minded and if the other team pushes you back, your team isn't built for that type of game. Defensive foundation built up this season thrown out the window to shoehorn Jesus and Zinchenko into the team because they're like a comfort blanket for him in tough times.
No excuses tonight. I put it down to the effort that was put in against Bayern. Too much intensity in both matches.
It only seemed like we played well in the first half. In reality the players made too many wrong decisions, gave Villa the impetus to survive the first half.
The hectic nature of the features is beginning to tell on the players. However, Arteta messed up with the team selection
