Dps and Fabvl are against cyphers because it prevents growth dps and fabvl used to be on every Cypher just like Zach b Connor quest frivolous
Sharah and a bunch of the main Cypher core but they stopped once they realized they weren't growing. Started doing their own music and they boosted themselves above all of em while the others stayed on the Cyphers and they get tons of flowers reactors like you tell the viewers they the best voice she's the best rapper and dude has the craziest pen in the game but skipped most of their solo music for what 3 years now.. their fun to listen to but horrible for growth thats the point they've been making about telling people to stop with the cyphers
I feel ya, but cyphers are good for the up and comers. It's how they get noticed, but you shouldn't build your career off of them. That's why you'll occasionally see Dan Bull on a cypher. He's already got his, but he knows when his name is on a cypher, it increases the views for the up and coming artists. It's just about paying it forward.
Also that they arn't special. It's cool when everybody comes in one track once in a blue moon, it feels like a event. But then one month there was like 8 cyphers coming, lol. And cyphers aren't something that many listen casually, it's often one and done.

I feel like the whole thing comes down to Cyphers aren't good for growth.
HOWEVER, its still good to hop onto a cypher OCCASIONALLY. It comes down to people just going "Ah yes I'm going to ONLY feature on Cyphers, and not produce my own." I feel for Cyphers to do good, it needs to be a balancing act, and try to put your style into Cyphers, instead of just a super watered down version of your style.
That way people don't go from a cypher to check your stuff, and then get hit with a version they don't like.
That inhibits word of mouth, lessening growth.
IT IS ALL A BALANCING ACT, and you CANNOT change for Cyphers too much.
A good example I can think of is older Shwabadi. He'd try to fit in to cyphers and change himself so much to do so, that the first time I went to his channel and listened to his stuff, I didn't enjoy it.
Now that he's not doing that AS much, I've gotten used to it and now can go in and listen to his stuff.
That's true. I mean how many people have you seen on cyphers with hundreds of thousands or millions of views but their channels are still small.

most(not all) cyphers these days just seem like "heres a new person" name drops, especially when they only get like 20 seconds each lol
10:11 I get what you mean about that pocket sounding off, my best guess is that it’s a reference to the anime, where these two characters switch positions everyone time the big guy clapped, so that stopping and starting would be a reference to that
i guess you and scru both missed the part where that whole part is supposed to be DPS rapping while filling the magazine with bullets before the bang. its like DPS is more focused on getting the gun ready than rapping but still spitting inbetween and then finish the scheme with "RUN" *BANG*
It's also DPS proving he's the GOAT. One of the lines is quite literally "Ain't a cadence, I won't make up"
I heard someone talk about their thing with the cyphers and honestly, I agree. A cypher isn't a growing platform or a way to reach out to communities. It's a platform where you get the best people in a group, or some strong hitters and make a banger. That's it though, there's not much left with it. I won't lie I never go to everyone's page after a I listen to a cypher. I already listen to people like Fabvl, DPs, Cam Steady, Mat4Yo, Dizzy, Zach B, Peso, Rustage, Swabidi. I see them on a cypher and I get hyped but then there's people on the cypher I neglect because A: I wanna hear what my favorite artists throw down. And B: I just don't think of it afterwards to check out the 2 to 3 people I didn't know unless they come out swinging with the same energy and style of the people I already have a bias for. The cyphers are great, fun, creative with their own flair, but it's not bridging between groups or self building. It's just a bunch of strong contenders coming together to giving a taste of their styles, and then dipping.
Fabvl absolutely killed this. They both did but sum about his sound on this one was just🔥

That line about not really rapping is true he sings more then anything. Also their hatred for cyphers isn't that they dislike them it's that they are waaaayyyy to overplayed in the nerdcore scene. They are everywhere little it was cool in the start but it leaves very little room for growth for especially these two artists. And also I think they have had some negative responses for not jumping on some cyphers.

In person videos hit different and always will. How could you not smile at them upping their level of music videos. Imagine the first 4 years of every big name music artist career we never saw their faces. Even the daft punk group did in person videos. They wore masks but we had a good understanding of how they looked. Every music video doesn't have to be in person but damn if you dropping at least 10 a year 2 or 3 could at least be in person. Just like this video you don't have to be in it for long.
