Danno, carry a packet of Liquid IV in your bag or pocket when you are in a hot environment. I put a half of the packet in a bottle of water (it suggests the whole packet, but I think it makes the water too thick so I use half) and shake it up and drink it. Your electrolytes will be replenished, and you'll feel better quickly. Heat exhaustion is dangerous for any age.
The purple bridge is really cool! Walking from Kentucky to Ohio over the bridge would be awesome to do while on vacation( or any time) . I think I would also like Goetta as a breakfast item. The Goettafest looks like a fun event.
Danno, from experience one of the worst things you can do when its hot out is drink coffee. It makes you more dehydrated and more susceptible to heat exhaustion.
Drinking coffee in the heat will dehydrate your body so fast. I learned that the hard way here in FLORIDA. And I always carry a hydrate powder in my purse when I get a water or a tea. I hope your feeling better today. That place looked like a lot of fun. I just couldn't go by myself. Koodoes to you for going places by yourself. I think your awesome. Better to go alone then to not experience things in this life. It's sad Jessica couldn't go, but probably a good thing since it was so hot and humid. Don't want anything happening to her. Thanks for this video it was so fun.
Interesting food ideas. Thanks for taking one for the team amd trying those nachos. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around Goetta 😂 Please be careful in the heat ... always carry water! You mentioned climbing. How much difference is it in elevation between the two places? Higher altitudes can really throw you. Anyway, I'm glad you found some a/c and hydration and felt better. Keep drinking water the rest of the day, even if you are inside. Caffeine can dehydrate you, so, maybe just one cup with Frank 😊 Hello to Jess!
Danno, when you are out in heat like you were, water is fine, but you need electrolyte's that you lost through sweating. The lost electrolytes will take a toll on your body plus its bad for your kidneys to get dehydrated. Next time bring or buy Gatorade or some type of water with added electrolytes. As a retired nurse, during the summer, especially in the southern states, we saw more dehydration cases because either the person didn't drink enough or they drank a lot of caffeinated drinks, which as you know, caffeine is a diuretic. Glad you had a good time. Thanks for sharing.
@dreamalittledream1 If you know anything about medical issues, then you would know that even people on fluid restrictions can become severely dehydrated quickly in hot, humid weather and that they lose precious fluids through sweating profusely and no matter who you are, you still need to stay hydrated.
@@GoBillGatesDE_POP_U_LATE Sam's is the cheapest. Kroger's, Walmart, and Amazon has it, too. I get mine from Liquid IV's website. They have lots of flavors and usually coupons or buy 3 get 1 free.

Make sure to take breaks and stay cool out there! I live in Phoenix, and I always carry 3 frozen water bottles in my bag and a sun hat. And have a large ice pack in the car. Water is important. The festival looks pretty cool 😎

We will be selling items at a flea market today in Michigan. We have a big cooler stocked with water and Gatorade. Normally we just bring the small one, but today we are keeping ourselves hydrated and have a bit extra in case of an emergency for someone else. Something I noticed today was the lack of the herb Thyme today. I stopped at the dollar tree (they only had salt, pepper, and seasoning blends, Aldi, and, Meijer this morning and none of them had any or even a spot for it anymore. I use a bit of it in my homemade pasta sauce to make the flavor better. When I canned 20 quarts of it yesterday I used the last of it that I had. I still have another 20 quarts to make yet and then I will have my stock for the year done. I do home canning as I'm allergic to onions and where I'm at the no onion sauce is around $6 a jar. Even with increased produce prices I can make my own for about $3 and it tastes a lot better.
I went to a local carnival here. Threw darts at the balloons and one bounced off. It hit the balloon and bounced back. 😮.. Sounds yum.. Deep fried pb & j.. My kids did the bull. When you fall off move out of the way the bull keeps turning even after you stop..
You know Goetta sounds similar in how it’s cooked only, to a dish called Rappie Pie, which unless you make it yourself, can only be purchased in Yarmouth, NS and possibly surrounding areas to Yarmouth. You can find it on UA-cam. IF you’ve never eaten it, you’d look at it and think “yeah, I don’t think so”, and it’s labor intensive to make, so IF you’ve never had it, you’re not likely to “just make it”. However, after saying all that, it’s AWESOME, AND DELISH! ❤️
I’m glad that you are alright Dan, after Goettafest in the extreme heat. I am catching up on videos from the last few days. It’s actually true that hot beverages can cool you down because your body lowers temp to compensate for the extra temperature. Just be mindful of caffeine and bring water too.
Danno you might be getting heat exhaustion, time to stay in air conditioning you have been working really hard outside lately I don't want you to get sick drink a lot of water .

Maybe you have a condition that runs in my side of the family, lots of times people don't even know they have it. Its called hyponatremia. It is an electrolyte imbalance in the body. You lose salt much faster when sweating, it causes your BP to dtop, causing you to feel weak. My son has it, too. Salt pills, LMNT is a great sodium boost at 1000 mg in a packet. The thing not to do is drink lots of water or coffee which flushes even more sodium out of the system. I was at Universal Horror Nights a few yrs ago and it was 90* at night, I kept drinking Gatorade but it wasn't enough, I had to sit and stop sweating and let my hubs & friends go through the haunted houses w/o me, it gets worse with age.
