Awesome as always. I've just watched your latest 3 cycling videos back to back (I can't get UA-cam notifications to work), so it's been a great evening of viewing. Thank you sir.
Thank you so much for the binge watching session lol. I am trying my best to make these videos as informative as possible and have spent a couple of hours on the Glasson Dock video this evening. They average about 2 hours of thought and editing for 1 minutes worth of viewable footage, it's bonkers !
Cheers Daz, it's good to see your videos again. Ideal therapy at this time of year and throughout the winter. I need to get motivated and do some proper rides again !
Don't get me wrong Mark, it's an incentive to keep us all going throughout the year and especially at Christmas and I can honestly say it was a proper challenge to do that kind of mileage in extremely cold conditions. I was proud of myself for that very reason in 2020. In the middle of summer it's a piece of cake. Having said that I don't do Zwift either so class my self as a proper bike rider. I even commute to work every day in all weathers
Always nice to get a short loop in Daz. Totally agree on the Rapha 500 being outdoors, sadly it’s not a challenge conducive to having 2 young kids as I have. 😩 I’ve been getting my little 26” hybrid out for a bit of gravel riding today. It’s a heavy bike with 47mm tyres on so perfect for building up the legs. As for power meters, the only one I’ve got is the one that sits in a cupboard in my living room telling me how much electricity I’ve used!
Fair point John about the 500, I just get a bee in my bonnet about Zwift and how people can accumulate well over 20+ miles in an evening session well under the hour during December , yet when out on the road they can't hit them kind of figures. When I'm out on a cold winter's ride it takes over an hour n' half to do somewhere near 19 miles. I personally believe my mileage is earned through grit and determination. But on the other hand there is a place for turbo trainers and Zwift rides because they extend people's season and offer a different perspective to cycling and training . The gravel bike will keep you fit too pal, I bet the fatter tyres are comfy also.
Cheers , I needed to try a new microphone out on this one, you can tell the difference on some shots where the GoPro audio is a bit naff. I'm working on the next one at the mo
Good comentary Mr Daz and i also like the bits that go wrong at the end.More content about what tyres you use ect too .In fact i think your vids should last at least an hour. Thanks pal
Thanks for the great feedback Phillip , I will try to keep the content coming and share my rides as they happen. I need to know what the viewers like and dislike or more so what they want to see more of.
Cheers pal, it's easier for me to do the cycling videos rather than the gold panning ones because I do this from my front door. The gold is hundreds of miles away.
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures i fully understand that mate its the same for us we can ride from home but to prospect is hrs away and as you’ve seen a challenge to get to timing is critical and apparently the weather hates me hehe
Thanks again NOM/\ It's all about keeping the story flowing with what I filmed. I tried the seperate audio recorder and mic on a different setting today but on some of the takes it mustn't have recorded because I had my gloves on. You can hear the different audio quality on some clips. The GoPro has very poor audio.
After Pendle I'm not surprised your legs were feeling it; it would've killed me 20 years since I went over there on a bike and nearly needed a defib' then. Fair play.
Ha ha , yes it was a tough ride the day before but the more you get out the easier it gets, or so they say lol. Thanks for the comments Mark, they are always appreciated.

Yes I should Professor but it would mean starting all over again. I started this channel on a bit of a whim to be honest not knowing anything about how it works, I still don't, but the one thing I have learned is that too many subjects or interests aren't good for a channel to grow. Maybe I should give it a go .
3 x offers a lot of gear choices especially if you are touring or going out on a very hilly route that you know will probably put you in a word of pain 2 x is getting better and better with so many options today. I love a compact set up which is 50 / 34 and 11/32 on the back. You can get up almost anything and have big enough gears to still go quick on the descents .
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures Fair enough because i tried 2x and these were my top speeds today: 26mph, 29, 29.3, 28, 30.3, 28.4,. And I normally go 18-25 in those sections with a 3x
Great stuff, the more you get into your cycling the more you will find it is all about the numbers, data, gearing, components, aerodynamics and so much more.....

Any advice on gears that determines speed. what gears should I use when attempting to go fast downhill?
Ideally a 53 x 39 on the front and a 11x 28 on the back. Therefore 53 x 11 will spin out at 55mph
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures Fair enough, not really sure what that means but I have 7x3 on my mtb

A up Daz, did you and Mike have a spot of helium at the end of the video?? Think i startled the neighbours laughing too loud 😂🤣😂
Yes we hit the Helium to get us home over that last hill Di. I might do this a bit more often
