I WAS IN ACTING CLASS, WITH DIANE , AT ESTELLE HARMAN'S WORKSHOP IN HOLLYWOOD...1956-58....ONE OF THE VERY BEST PEOPLE I KNOW..JACK ENGLISH..WEHO..11/3/2018...
Ms. Baker has always delivered top-notch quality, even in the grade B genre films ("Straight Jacket", "Journey to the Center of the Earth") that she was prominently featured in.
Excellent interview - Ms Baker, for most of her parts, always played the sweetheart of the main love interest - classy, never vulgar, the kind of girl that you would "safely" bring home to meet your parents (we did do that guys back in the 50~60's, I am a Baby Boomer, I know!!!). What a great actress and a fine distinguished woman, she was the Annette Funicello of the older crowd. Thank you for all the hours of nice entertainment she gave us... Ciao, L an admirer
Diane, Diane... Ernest Lehman wrote NORTH BY NORTHWEST, not Peter Stone (who also wrote the original THE TAKING OF PELHAM One Two Three). Otherwise, a great interview with the always terrific Eddie Muller.
'Mirage' was a good flick, but Diane Baker was too young a love interest for Gregory Peck to make that part of it work. As the host pointed out, Peck looked like her dad in their first intimate scene. Probably Cary Grant was the only top male star who had the ironic self-confidence to pull off such a older man/much younger woman scenario on the screen.
What I do not like about this interviewer is that he seems intent upon showcasing the fact that he feels he is superior to the film. All too common among film people of that kind.
I saw diane at a cafe shop called Farley's in potrero hill San Francisco in early 2000s I didn't really notice her or think there's Diane Baker! But the minute she spoke, with that proper lady like manner, I said wow! That's Diane Baker. When her other guests left the table, I shyly approached me and complimented on her performance in Marnie as the bratty sister in law of Sean Connery. She was very reserved, but polite enough. I also told her, I loved you in straight jacket. She krinkled her face and and in a playful way said let's not talk about that one! But it was a thrill to see her in person. Seemed like a very private person

Loved Ms. Baker in "The Diary of Anne Franck," & "The Best of Everything." Lovely actress.

Diane Baker- the epitome of showmanship; Supermodel❤😊
She looks incredible!
The INVADERS brought me here. Saw her in many films, always the stable one it seems.
