I have one of these. It's a well made pen and feels pretty good. What really impressed me is how well it held a seal for several months. The nib does not dry out, even if the pen ends up sitting for a long time.

I bought this pen for myself a few weeks ago, I received it in a plastic case with the glass pipette like the M2. It didn't include the ink cartridges because of regulations, but it doesn't matter to me because I bought it to use as an eye dropper. I have rather average sized hands and am used to drawing with pencil stumps, so I find myself using it without posting it for quick notes. So far I've used it daily for a week, both small notes and notetaking in lectures. The feed is indeed a little dry, but I'm fine with that, I mostly write on cheap paper and it's only a touch dry so it doesn't affect my writing speed just minimising the bleeding/feathering while giving lovely shading. So far I've had no issues with slipperiness or uncomfortable feeling when writing for longer stints. The only issue I've had is that the threads in the cap and on the body don't always play nice, it might take a few tries in order to screw the cap on properly because it'll catch a few times.

I love the shading on that ink! Thanks for the review.

Thanks for this great review. The Wancai Mini is on my wish list but it would be more of a novelty than anything for me. I think my next purchase will be the M2.

It's even smaller than the papermate fountain pen. You can fit it in most "useless pockets" on women's clothing.

Got one of these with the nice swirls in the acrylic. Good review. I like it for bits and pieces. I have other pens for longer writing. The step did’t bother me as much. The step I am allergic to is the Pilot Metropolitan. I can’t bear to even hold it for a minute. Happy new year and thanks for the really super reviews. Cheers. Hence why I have never actually bought a pilot metro, or MR2 as they are called in Australia. I tried it in store and hated it. I am always surprised that it doesn't turn many people away from that pen

Thanks for the review of this pen. I was having second thoughts about getting this pen and you have helped me. I think I will get it. Mostly for the size and because I need a not so expensive carry on every day pen. Loved the food coloring ink! I was about to ask what color and ink was it!! Hahaha!! Cheers!

JPL, is this pen's posting style really practical for quick note taking? The Wancai doesn't seem to be as efficient as say posting a cap of Pilot Prera, and it does seem like it needs to be posted.

Acrylic is just that, there are no quality acrylic's, the chemical structure is only acrylic.

    • @jpl2475

Here is what Ill say from experience. When I was making my fountain pen for a school project I ordered a bunch of acrylic blanks. I ordered several from different sources, some cheap, and some moderately priced. I would expect them to behave the same but the cheap ones easily shattered and chipped when I put them on the lathe, whilst the more expensive ones cut much more easily.
I know that acrylic is just that, acrylic, but in most cases additives, fillers and stabilizers are added, so what you get isn't always 100% acrylic (or any other plastic for that matter). As a result I have seen some variation is acrylic quality, in terms of scratch resistance. Though acrylic is always a pretty good plastic

@@jpl2475 thank you for the explanation, and yes you are right, but with the addition of other compounds like you said it isn't actually an acrylic anymore.
I would think someone would of given these materials their own name by now,

@@aliasrehbar9693 I think it's just the normal variation you get between pens, or maybe Moonman indescriminately uses different nib manufacturers. I don't notice any nib difference between my Moonman M2 and Wancai. If anything, the M2 nib writes better and although an EF is definitely wetter. On ebay they sell replacement nibs which are the same for both pens.

sherin zada It’s a review, not an abstract. It is supposed to talk about all the aspects of the pen, not just say “yes” or “no”. The long review helps you to truly consider whether you would want to purchase the pen or not. If you don’t have the patience to watch the whole video, you could just read the description of the pen on ebay or wherever you purchase it.
