It always amazes me to see how such enormous animals like elephants are able to be so gentle... They are able to keep from stepping on their tiny babies...
This is a site of the David Sheldrick Wilderness Trust in Tsavo, Kenya. These are orphaned elephants who were slowly released back into the wild. Wendy the matriarch was herself an orphan. "Benjamin" is one of the head keepers there and an expert as well as surrogate parent to many of these elephants, which is why it was appropriate for him to eventually help out. This clip should have identified this place because they need donations and public support.
I honestly wish this documentary had been about Benjamin and his elephants and not just the random guy who likes elephants that came for the ride. We could have learned about DSWT, how much effort people like Benjamin put in and probably learned more intimately about the elephants as he knows all of them by name.
I hope that somehow Benjamin can hear about all the respect and admiration we have for him and his caring and helping of these elephants. Benjamin rocks!
that dude really just got out of his car and waved his hands at a whole-ass herd of elephants like they were a bunch of stray cats. the titanic balls on that guy.
As Ogden Nash said: Elephants are useful friends, Equipped with handles at both ends; They have a wrinkled, moth-proof hide, Their teeth are upside-down, outside. . .
@Green Greener my mans could be the darkest man to ever exist and you just strait up was like you pale people I'm not gonna change they way you think but it's better to act on more info
Elephants are so much like humans They live as a family their whole life All the elephants surrounding the baby elephant are her aunts and uncles and cousins and . . . . .
Not this herd - these elephants are mainly Ex orphans raised from infancy by Benjamin and other keepers at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi and then here at Ithumba. They are released into the wild when they feel ready to go and often come back like Wendy and Galana and introduce the keepers to their wild born babies. There may also be some wild elephants who have joined their herd.
@@naoedouard4422 they are extremely dangerous as adults, at least if they’re angry at you, doesn’t really matter if they’re friendly they are still huge
Yes, it's so much of an improvement to include footage of the cameraman turning towards the camera and narrating what we can see for ourselves if they just shot the footage of the elephants. So much better than just watching the elephants w/one narrator. IN fact next time just leave the elephants out of it altogether and just have the narrator narrate what the cameraman would see if there were elephants and have the cameraman turn around and talk to us about that.
I like how the guy just came in and hurried them along like they were a herd of sheep. If I was him, I’d be terrified that they would charge at me for doing that.
Fun fact: elephants see characteristics in humans that are cute for them, which means when they look at us, they probably think "oh look! its a human how cute!"
This is an update: current counter says 50 views, 67 likes and 0 dislikes. We all know some will dislike the video and it's just a matter of time. Why would anyone dislike a video of a baby elephant going into the water? Only those who will go to hell. But it will surely happen because this is youtube, this is life. but I embrace this moment before they show up :)
Elephants are so ugly cute. They're wrinkly as heck and have that fuzzy hair all over haha you'd almost expect liver spots It's so endearing to me, like the second they're born they're 80 year olds

They aren't called gentle giants for nothing ;-)
they have the largest brain of every land animal. They can identify languages apparently, and gender.
Is there even anything more precious and cute than baby elephants? I dont think so🥺🥺🥺
shut up

What is this place? How can we all help in conserving this wonderful species. I feel so attached to them xxxSusan 👍🏼🕊️❤️🙏🏿🙏🏻☮️
Why is Benjamin's name in quotations?
I believe it’s Daphne Sheldrick, not David. Yes, they do amazing work with orphaned elephants. Their careers are so dedicated.
The tininess of that baby compared to the adult and adolescents makes my heart sing.
These animals are so beautiful and need to be protected. Africa is such beautiful place with wonderful wildlife that you don't see anywhere else.
I hope that somehow Benjamin can hear about all the respect and admiration we have for him and his caring and helping of these elephants. Benjamin rocks!

Elephants are weird looking if you think about it.. Nevertheless they're sooo beautiful

Brian Axel they truly are and they don’t have much fear of humans
Africa oh Africa cradle of the world.
I absolutely love elephants. They could definitely teach us how to be a family.
As a responsible channel BBC should have acknowledged that the footages were shot in David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Ithumba unit, in Kenya.

@Green Greener God you're pathetic. People should know so they can donate to the organization. Who do you think pays the keepers wages?
Amazing video ❤ My eyes are blessed to see such a beautiful sight

Boesner, didn't you get the memo? Evolution is just a fairytale.
Tom tonka I also call it a donkey, very humble and down to earth.

That dude has some balls walking up to elephants like that 🤨
Aren't they friendly?
Shamie That ''dude'' is the main dude in the zoo, he rescued and ''parented'' many of those elephants, they know him well.

So cute! The calves are having a baptism
It looks more like the baby slipped into the mud, and then had a difficult time getting out, than a bath of any sort.
Aaawww..! Too adorable baby 🐘 🥰
i love how they have a human minder

I've seen this documentary on tv, it was beautiful!
I wish I could interact with elephants like that man 😍
Other than Gordon almost being attacked by a polar bear that time, he has got the best job in the world filming wildlife! 😊
