I really love that you give us so much content and also the fact that you shine light over so many overlooked or not that obvious movies. Thank you for your work, your sharing of knowledge, your kindness and dedication.
What a coincidence ... I just finished reading the review for this movie in the NY Times, which gave it a Critics Pick nod. I was hoping you would do a video. You subtly mentioned a quote from the review, "On Enys Men, the earth remembers what the sea has taken." It looks interesting enough, but please do not even whisper that dreadful "Skinamarink" in the same breath. Loved your review. Great job!
I can't help to watch all of you guys reviews regardless if I watch or don't watch the film. This sound kind of interesting if you are in the right mood. Thank you for letting us know about these films I haven't heard of ❤️
If you listen to that radio broadcast, you will notice that it is actually set 50 years later. It mentions an event happening 50 years ago on May 1st 1973 which is during the time she is recording info in her journal. I tried so hard to like this movie, i think i was just looking for anything definitive to give it purpose for me. I get the whole she was the statue the whole time metaphor, and the symbolism of her lost youth, husband lost a sea, she is the literal "stone island" because she isolates herself from everyone and everything including feelings of said grief but i still just didn't enjoy it. But clearly i really did try! Just found this channel and i really like your guys honest, straight forward reviews/discussions!
Just listened enough to see if you liked it (will return for the entire video after watching) and think I’ll see Walkup this weekend instead playing at the same theatre (NYC) along with Bait which I also want to see.
This movie had so much potential, the trailer looked great! It just didn’t deliver for me. The music and cinematography were well done. Wish we had seen more horror elements and less of a cinematic experience if that makes sense. This and skinamarink were up there with the feeling of letdown after viewing. I really thought when the glass holding the flower broke scene and the guy with the gas ran to close the window we would see some horror but we didn’t get anything lol. Great review guys! Thank you
I love this channel, as I'm a cinephile, and don't mind at all if I know everything about a film before watching. The more I Know, the better. Which all my family hates. I obviously have watched films where I don't know what is going to happen. But I really don't mind spoilers, at all. Y'all do really good reviews and I come to this channel for the spoilers. 🙏🙏✌️✌️
Just watched this. Ehh. Reminded me of old artsy genre films. Which isn't a bad thing. But tried a bit hard. If that makes sense. Haha. 3 months so we. Thank you boys ❤️
I saw it Wednesday in Long Beach $5 tix for this movie only. No clue why. I agree with Nick, I wanted more from it, but I appreciated what it was trying to do. Love you guys
I think we did get closure on who the young girl was. It was her when she was younger and she dies falling off the house when she gets the huge cut on her belly. My take on it was that she died at that point and had been living on that island all along after her death, just not coming to terms with it. The lychen starts growing on her because she is apart of the earth now having decomposed a long time ago. That’s what I took away from it at least. Great video!
You capture the, uhm. 'surreal' atmosphere, this story perhaps is going for very well! Unfortunately, may be this 'folklore' style is not 'direct' enough to appeal to me either! *But* from your views, it still makes for a curious, question mark, for the 'fragile mind' and the effects from the environment on it.
Literally drove 40 minutes into Baltimore to see this movie because AMC wouldn’t 🤣 the movie was beautiful and haunting and I was wishing I was smart enough to get all the symbolism too lmao
I didn't see this yet but self-masturbatory, transgressive cinema seems to be a mainstay today and it's given in lieu of plot and character development a little too often so I really hope this ends up having a bit more of the latter
2/10....This movie was utter trash. If anyone actually thinks this is good is either paid to give it praise or is just parroting what the good reviewers are saying

Well said!!! I totally agree!
Yesssss ❤
I completely agree, it’s great to put on mute in the background with some 70s Italian synth music for a get together.
Added to my Fish Jelly list! I love that you guys review movies that aren't mainstream!!!

I needed a review this AM to Jumpstart my morning. 🎉Thanks guys for bringing this film to my attention-I never heard of it.
You’re one of best movie review channels out here in YT. Would love to hear a conversation of you guys with Mike and Jay from Red Letter Media.

Great video!! I wanted to know how much story this movie has on its bones beforehand. Looking forward to checking it out. You two are awesome, thanks
Just what I needed to get through my shitty 9 to 5 today😅 thank you gentlemen!

Fish Jelly Film Reviews Thanks Much !
I like the way it looks. Very lush & earthy.
I love how Nick said "debris" like Katherine Hepburn in "Suddenly Last Summer"
DEbris - Yankee, deBRIS - southern ?

Listen, I'm gonna have to check this one out because of Joseph. A combo of Midsommar and Skinamarink, c'mon! 🤔🤔🤔
🌈📽🍿🍫🥤🎫🌈
Thank you!

Too artsy for me
I get it but just not for me
I felt like I wanted my time back after watching it
I feel like this film could've been a masterpiece if it had more of a narrative i think.

werewolves grew on the flowers...then I was like 😮. Thank you for that horticulture factoid...
Presumably it's Don't Look Now he is referring to, and not Don't Look Up.

The trailer for this movie was misleading, still enjoyed the movie but was expecting something different after watching the trailer

Spoilers?? I don't think its possible for this film.
This movie was horrid, don't waste your time.
This movie is kinda boring for me. there is not too much to digest in this movie. too slow. I don't get the whole idea of this film.
Terrible movie!
