Ken, I have helped a friend who had two knee replacements. It’s a long recovery, and painful. Ice is going to be very important and slow and careful exercise. Gradual increase. Please don’t rush your body, or you could damage the surgery. Please allow healing to set in before you ebike. Although on a flat area would be easy and nice. No hills yet. When you peddle. Nice looking bike. Take good care of yourself.
I hope your knee surgery went very well Ken! I didn't know you had to get knee surgery. It looks like you did this review a it ago since the COW (Cabin On Wheels) is still there. It does look like a nice ebike. It did go together very fast. Wow, you zipped past the camera that time! I'll be praying for a full recovery Ken! Too bad about your knee pain! I always say AG-O-KNEE! Wow, it does heartbreak hill! I'm so glad you got this and it can help you recover from the knee surgery. I like the color too! The leaves are changing colors! Thanks for this video Ken!
Good luck on your knee replacement Ken. Had my total knee replacement in June. Everything went well. Getting along fine. Big thing is stay up on your pain meds & keep up on your home therapy. Praying for speedy recovery.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy this model. E-bikes are amazingly fun to ride. The prices are considerably lower than what I spent years ago on mine. The resale is great. I sold mine for basically what I paid for it. Love the tires on this model, and the front/back disk brakes. Enjoy! I pray that your surgery goes well and that you recover quickly. God bless
Yes, I also used an ice machine on my knee. They are handy for reducing the swelling after your knee surgery. My wife had knee replacement surgery on Nov. 6, 2023 on her left knee. Now she is waiting to have hip replacement surgery on her right hip. Surprisingly, knee surgery is more painful to recover from than hip surgery for most people.
My wife had knee replacement surgery in May. She was walking immediately and driving in 16 days after surgery. Her surgery was a complete success and is thankful she got it. I pray your experience will be as good as my wife’s. Enjoyed the bike review and I forwarded the link to a friend who has become interested in E bikes.
That E-bike even LOOKS like it's the best one you've review to date. I really like the looks of that one. Keep us posted on the knee surgery you'll be having, Ken. Pray it goes well for you and that you have a quick and smooth recovery. Take 'er easy, my friend!
My wish for you is a safe and healthy recovery from your knee surgery. The electric bicycle will be a great help with your Physical Therapy to strengthen your knee.
Hey Ken, I’m 8 weeks post Knee replacement surgery. I would advise you to get with whoever your going to use for your Physical Therapist and have them to give you exercises to begin doing now before surgery. It will aide in a faster recovery. Also, do your daily exercises after surgery. You will recover much faster. Good luck.
Wishing you well on your upcoming knee surgery. I, as well as many others here on your channel have had a knee replacement. In my case, the surgery, physical therapy and recovery went very well, and I was back to 95% in 4 weeks. I was 72. Now at 77 YOA, I’m still active, but a bit slower. Good luck and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Hi Ken. When my wife had her knee replaced she was given an ice machine that has a pump that pumps the cold water from an ice container to the wrap around the knee. Well after spending a ton of money on ice I learned the container holds for water bottles perfectly. I froze eight bottles and swapped them out and didn’t buy ice again. Lots of luck with yours.
Ken, Best of luck with your knee replacement surgery. I had my right knee done last year in the spring and have no regrets. Your physical therapist will be key to a successful recovery. Biking is great, but don’t expect to be doing much so that in the early stages of recovery. I have to admit that I wince when I see your arthritic knee give you a jolt on camera, but you can look forward to that being only a distant memory.
I had my right knee replaced a year ago. Do all the PT and more. Don't stop. You'll be happy for it. My knee surgery has been the most successful surgery I've ever had. I've had many (I'm 70)
Nice bike, Ken! The step through on this bike is very helpful for those with leg issues who find it hard to raise a leg. I fell off a ladder in January and suffered a tibial plateau fracture and my E-bike really helped me during the therapy phase as I could peddle and rest when needed while enjoying the outdoors and fresh air. Highly enjoyable after 2 1/2 months being bed ridden. Best of luck in your surgery. God bless. 😊
My wife had her knee replacement in June and is now well on her way to a full recovery. Like many have said make sure you get with a good physical therapist and ice often. We also used the water bottle in the ice machine. They also make a more high tech version that only uses a water. My brother in law has had both his knees replaced and skies forty days a year now. He could barely walk before his surgeries. I wish you well.
Hi Ken, I had a knee replacement almost 7 yrs ago. Please, please, please do the same physical therapy exercises AT HOME in addition to the therapist’s office. I took my PT very serious because I’ve heard of people who had a knee replacement done twice on THE SAME KNEE!!! I put off mine for as long as I could (until the pain was unbearable). There was no way I was going to do it a second time on the same knee. Not if I could help it AND with the grace of God, of course. I’m not good with taking medication but I did take the prescribed medication as required for the entire first week. I had to keep a “chart” listing the various medications being that each one had a different time schedule. I set an alarm for “middle of the night” medication. After the first week I weaned myself off of the PAIN medication due to the fact that it is a Narc medication. I continued taking the rest as required. By the time of my 2 week follow up visit with the Dr. she told me I should start weaning myself off of that specific medication. I explained to her I ALREADY DID!! Ken, I know you will let us know when you’re scheduled for the surgery but I’ll say it now (and again later) God bless you and keep you safe during that process and a speedy recovery.
Wow, must be an older video, you have the tiny house in the driveway! I hope your surgery goes well Ken, physical therapy is a very important step towards your recovery, good luck Sir! 🙏🏼
As you came up the hill saying 8 7 6 I thought that was the best we've seen on all the bikes, and you confirmed it, nice one! ... When you slipped down the bank I thought Oh no, don't hurt the good knee lol! Good luck with the surgery whenever you get it, sending empathetic positive thoughts to you Ken. (And love to Sandy!) ❤
A young man that I work with earned himself the nickname “Crash” with the help of his new e-bike. He looked like he lost a bar fight! I don’t know how fast he was going, and he was dumb enough to skip a helmet. Swimming, or even just walking in a swimming pool, is good therapy for your knees, too. It was recommended way back when I injured one of mine a few decades ago. Find a good physical therapist, too. Please let us know when your surgery is scheduled so we can pray for you and your surgical team. Regardless, follow your medical team’s advice TO THE LETTER after your surgery. One of my friends had replacement on both of her knees at the same time, and although she was not thrilled with the recovery time, she was still glad that she had them done and did all of the things that her team recommended. She also became more active after her recovery period because her knees didn’t hurt anymore!
I think you are right on helping your knee with that bike. A very nice bike it is but surprised it doesn't have fender protection for riding wet roads.
You'll appreciate the knee replacement....I've had both done over the years. I am skeptical you'll be approved to use during Phyical therapy after surgery as any fall could result in disaster. God Bless
Save some of that packing material to use for kneeling in the shop. We all need it as we get older, but especially with a replacement knee. I even keep one in my car just in case.
That sounds like the bike to get. I had knee surgery on March 4, 2024. My knee is coming along nicely. I have a recumbent stationary bike. My knee replacement surgery allowed me to rotate one almost one complete turn a few weeks after surgery. My wife is a retired physiotherapist. Her patients took awhile to complete one turn after surgery when they came for rehab. . . . All the best after your surgery. Keep us posted as to your rehab after surgery.
good luck with that knee surgery Ken my wife had her complete knee replacement and she needs the other one done but she is trying to put if off because It was the worst pain she has ever experienced and was a long recovery
I sure like the bike Ken and I know that it will help you out on your knees. Could you get the bike with fenders? Nothing worse than having water flying up on your back and the front end splashing on your legs.
Good Saturday morning Ken .... @09:37 you were a blur .... zooooooom! I even set the playback speed to 0.25, and still couldn't see if it was you🤣🚴🏻♂~~~~ Looks like a very nice bike Ken👍🏻 Even the chickens were impressed🐔🐔! That bike looks like a very nice piece !! Looks very well thought out and engineered !! Good luck on the knee replacement. I'm having lower back surgery (fusion, second one) early next month so I'll be recuperating along with you. Without a bike though. ;o) What did you say the other day about "not being as limber as you once were"??? Sounds "familiar" !! ;o) 😉😉
I got my wife an ice machine for her knee surgery and it really helped her out with the pain. It was programmed to come on and off. I could program the water flow to prevent it getting to cold 🥶 on for 20 minutes and off. Some of the machines you could start the timers ⏲️ then I would half to restart each time. So you’re going to want to get the one that will come on and off. With the program. Some of the insurance companies will pay for the machine. Some don’t. Good luck 🍀
E bike again is this a repeat i mean a rerun what the heck i mean get well soon ken hope surgery went well this semi retirement stuff is hard work thaks rest up we need you back
Nice bike, knee surgery oh my, they are having me do physical therapy but I can’t get in for two months. Had surgery almost 20 years ago and man it hurts. They say the arthritis is only about 50 % blockage so no replacement at this point!
