This has to be one of the coolest trips I’ve been luckiest enough to go on in my lifetime!! Hope you all enjoy watching this video as much as I did filming it 🤠
W vid
You stayed in a Longyearbyen-B. It's the coldest place you've ever been to!
That’s my hometown! 😂
bro you could've saved yourself a whole lot of trouble and just gone to Tromsø...
You remind me of Tom Scott
W vid as well BTW
That seed bank in Svalbard is probably the most important building, in the world!
I think youre completely right
It's so cool. Pardon the pun
Yea I find it creepy I don't think it's meant for humans there's probably something more weird down there we'll never know it had cameras from top to bottom
@@eddylucas7150 Of course it has cameras, its literally one of the last lines of defense for our species survival.
@@eddylucas7150 What's "creepy" about a seed bank? It's literally for our benefit and the cameras are there to make sure people don't mess with it.
Having a lack of night makes you upload the same video twice in one day. Time for sleep Ben.
😅😅😅😅
That's funny 😂

I'm just amazed that there is a random Filipino in the northern most settlement of the world. A dude used to the hot and humid weather. Laban lang kapatid.
@@balaysalida Okay naman dto, sanay na sanay na. Hehe
@@WinsleyQuiambao marami kayo dyan? Pano ka nakaabot? Kwento naman dyan idol sa form ng vlog.
stop talking about pinoy pag pag
So beautiful! You're a lucky young man to be able to do this. Thank you for sharing.
i commented this and then found your comment :D
Svalbard isn't a town, the town is called Longyearbyen. Svalbard is the name of the archipelago
2:14
Everyone is immortal in Svalbard, for cemeteries are nonexistent. The driver said, "You can't sleep at midnight due to the light." It means if a man dwells in Svalbard, he should hibernate.
I bet flat earthers hate the fact that this place exists lol
Nah, Seen quite a few vids that talked about the midnight sun and other places likes this that are far north
@@xz5901 several places in Alaska
I love when they say vids are fake.. or recorded in Hollywood.. or even CGI.
My rebuttal is "even if it is fake, looks a lot better than anything you can produce"
Their cookie cutter response- "do your research".
They usually just go away and cherry pick other comments 😂
@@munkyfu23 Careful when you say that though. Who knows if one day, someone will pull the same thing that "E Rush" piano debate did..
I was so obsessed when I first learnt about Svalbard nearly 10 years ago. I've watched countless vlogs since then and hope to visit someday when I can afford it LOL
I think of Cecilia
@@nonamerooster5413 her reels are amazing, always think about how isolated they are from the chaos
Huge fan of how your videos have evolved over the past year. I definitely come away from them now having learnt a lot. Keep going man, 1mil is around the corner!
Also this place has been on bucket list for ages, love to see that its as incredible as I thought it would be.
I appreciate that! We’ll get there one day, hope you can make it to Svalbard at one point
The car driver sounds and looks Filipino. Amazing!!!🎉
You can find Fillipinos living all over the world, they are truly a globalized people!
yeah! those accent and the words how they pronounce, very pinoy
I was thinking the same thing 😆
@@lesterdi8963 because I am Filipino 🇵🇭

Ben - I've watched your videos for a long time. To see you grow as a creator has been a lot of fun. This video is truly Yes Theory quality - kudos. I'm just at the beginning of my youtube vlogging journey, and I have a lot to learn, but to see how excellent you are at conveying stories always inspires me to up my game. Fantastic video mate.
Thank you so much!! An honour to hear that honestly - Yes Theory have always been a huge inspiration to me! Good luck with everything 🙌🏼
@@benmorris Thank you mate - I appreciate it! You deserve your success. You clearly work damn hard, and it shows.
@@benmorrishey ben just to tell you that the village isnt named svalbard its named longyeabergen
lived in svalbard for all my life left when i was 22 and moved to louisiana with the love of my life. never looked back but i do miss home i’m 26 now
This video is incredibly well done. Amazing storytelling and editing hay compliments it
I thought I imagined a new upload…but it’s back! LFG
Me too 😂
This video is incredibly well done. Amazing storytelling and editing that compliments it
Good to see it back up
Bald and Bankrupt needs to come here, he loves soviet stuff!!! Let’s get him to see this guys!!!🔥
Ben, Ben & Ben 😉
No way!!!! You stayed in the airbnb above my research station!! So sad I didn’t meet you😭
i hope he sees this
Ben, I have enjoyed and loved seeing you, your content, your channel as a whole grow. I met you at the Hello World event in Birmingham back in 2017. Still watching your content now, your effort, drive and hard work you put into your videos is amazing, and we can see this in your videos. I learn something new from every upload from you. It’s informative, interesting, and makes us realise and appreciate things more. Keep up with everything Ben, you’re doing an awesome job, one of the best creators on UA-cam today in my opinion.
I’ve been there 😊.
Ben, you need to visit Antarctica! You’ll never forget this place, guaranteed!
They say that Antarctica still holds the world's largest rainforest beneath all the ice and that mammoths still live in those regions
What an amazing video, Brilliant stuff as always Ben!
Cheers from Finland Ben! Killer content
Amazing adventure Ben! It's really nice to see how you feel each adventure opportunity.
Then in the winter months it's always dark. I couldn't live in a place like that. Props to the people who live there, for sure ✌️
I don't work for monzo but I use them in the UK. One thing you should of said about them is that they pay you a day before your money goes in. For example, If you get paid on the 28th of each month they let you have your money on the 27th. Most banks hold your money for an extra day for some reason....
Also great video mate 👍🏻
Very cool video bro! Was really feeling like you took me with you on this experience. Chills.
For some weird reason, this place is now on my bucket list.
This is a great video thanks, I’ve just booked five nights at the beginning of May next year. I really enjoyed your perspective of Svalbard.
Is it expensive?
@@jj-if6it $400 flights from UK and upward of $100 per night accommodation.
@@welshieallovertheplace oh the accommodation isn't expensive. Thanks
Now, which science article lied to me that polar bear almost extinct and there are like less than 100 of them left. Where is that 3000 polar bears coming from ?!
1:49 I KNOW A KABABAYAN WHEN I SEE ONE LOL
me: UY! Philippines!!!
Uy!
my exact thoughts. OI PELEPENS!
I lived in Longyearbyen for over a year. It was the weirdest and most amazing experience at the same time.
And trust me, the polar night in Tromsø is nothing like on Svalbard. In Tromsø the sun may be technically below the horizon but you still have some indirect light at midday.
Life is better when Ben uploads
You always produce incredibly amazing videos. I always look forward to watching your amazing travel vlogs.
Thank you 🙏🏽
I love the sun. Usually sun in winter. So I think this would be a dream destination for those 100 odd days
During summer, all the houses looks like crack houses. The bedroom windows are lined with aluminium foil 😅 (to keep the sunlight out).
That car guy is definitely Filipino!!! 🇵🇭
i want 24houes darkness 😂
Nice! Remember seeing your strava jogs from there! Was waiting for almost 2 months i guess(?)
Hahahahah you have the inside scoop on where I’m filming !
I work overnights, this video was weirdly relatable cuz my "midnight" is everyone else's noon
Honestly, such a fire video like I can't imagine what it might have felt to take a run at 1 am when it's daylight crazy video as always 👍
proud to see you come so far fr
The storytelling with the editing was really amazing
genuinely the best content on this platform, so worth the wait between vids
My wife and I went to remote Alaska earlier this year and this reminds me of Alaska.
It's so peaceful and remote.
Loved this video mate, you’re killing it lately. Getting that nighttime timelapse has to be a photographer’s bucket list shot surely
Now talk about the winter where IT NEVER RISES
ikr
feeling like an eteranal night lol
Bald and bankrupt would love this place, I can just imagine him wandering off into the wilderness in his tshirt and trainers but of course that abandoned town frozen in time is mint.
I haven’t got balls that big
You should probably look into bald and bankrupt... Just Google or UA-cam "bald and bankrupt controversy" not the ban from Russia, he is a sex tourist and prays on women desperate and in poverty
B&B is a creep
@@jj-if6itlol how so? I think he’s cool
@@sao5060 there's evidence of him being a s*x tourist, exploitation and assault of women
Awesome! I remember when you did the vlog of the town with no sun. By the way, did you get my email about a merch idea?
Subscribed! From The Philippines
I had the same fear about polar bears when I made a solo visit in August 2013. My only encounters with the wild in Longyearbyen were the wild birds, diving down on my head. The midnight sun was also a surreal experience, although it was noticeably colder than for you. Even in August I experienced light snow, and felt like a Scottish winter. The majority of the residents in summer escape to sunnier climates.
I booked an excursion to visit the Glacier, but on our bumpy dinghy ride out (holding for dear life) they decided the rough seas were unsafe to continue.
Your hair looks so good in this
The guy who picked you up seemed like a Filipino! Filipinos find themselves everywhere!! amazing
same thoughts! first sentence and i was like "ohh kabayan!!!" 🇵🇭
@@alyssajohn1074 exactly!! Hahaha
I was about to comment the exact same thing hahaha
The only Filipino living in Svalbard
There are many thais and filipinos here i think
I LOVE when you post new videos! It’s always the highlight of my day🙌🏼
Amazing views! The suns clearly does a 360 S-circle shape around the earth, just look, the video itself it's proof
Ya that's the earth spinning with the sun being up all time it gives great point of reference
So glad I ran across your page earlier this year. One of my favorite UA-camrs!
Great watch man, good to see yu still video-ing'
You have more than earned a sub from me friend!
Been enjoying your adventures! ❤
Ben, fantastic video. Thank you!
I live in Lofoten, where we have a couple of months of midnight sun, and a month of no sun. It's amazing how you get used to it and confused when it's dark in the night in the summer further south 😅
Another amazing video, Ben! So cool!
Amazing as always! Can't wait to go to Svalbard on day
He did what all of our free-spirited, adventurous, inner children wants to do. Amazing place, to be sure. Thanks for the video!
Dayummm the video quality just keeps getting better and better
Hello from Kazakhstan Ben i love your videos been watching you since you went to Gstaad
Closer to NP than Norway 😮 - class video as always
Ben is so underrated! His content is always top tier! 🙌🏼
Low-key I'd love to spend a whole year here just listening to Mozart and reading Agatha Christie
1:07 that moment when everyone in the airplane stands up for no reason at all.
Hi from Barcelona!
I put 👍 even before watching
Coming to Barca next week to film 👀
@@benmorris Wow, that’s amazing! If you’d like any recommendations or need a local to show you around, I’d be happy to help. I know some non-touristic spots, that could be great for your videos. Either way, hope you have a fantastic time filming in Bcn
Love your YT journey bro…
Ayyy welcome back brother 💎💎💎💎💎
I've been yo Svalbard and can confirm its a magical place. Go before it melts!
So true! So lucky I got to go there
It reminds me of living in Eielson, AFB, Alaska... Interesting times....
Amazing video Ben! More like this 😊
Great vid as usual Benjamin 👌🏼
Haven't even seen the vid but i know its going to be fire. 🔥🔥
new apple updates and now a new upload from Ben. what an amazing day.
Excellent video, very informative. Traveling to the ends of the Earth must be exciting.
this is how us nightshift people feel having to sleep at 12pm lmao 5:37
10:25 The whale in that region is sustainably sourced and is no worse than any other type of hunting (and better than farm raised for that sake).
Now explain this flat earthers!
I hope I never end up there. I can't stand the place. Two and a half months of complete darkness. God help us.
bro first went to the town with no sun, now with sun. W
I lived in Alaska when i was a kid and it was about like this in the summer. The summers were really fun and full of sun but winter was just cold and dark.
The driver is Filipino. I think i know him somewhere
Wow, that restaurant was unexpected. The presentation and look of the food. Sheesh.
The only place where ordering .22LR ammo (too weak to kill a polar bear) will make you look suspicious
Your driver is definitely a Filipino, nice to hear
What an awesome trip Ben. Wow. So interesting. Best wishes.
This place looks incredible bro 😍 amazing video
Amazing video as always! 😁
New subscriber here!☝🏻
Your channel just popped up on my recommendation and I glad it did. This video is very cool!!
The closest thing to a video game mentioning endless days is Sega Genesis/mega drive is Dungeon and Dragon's warriors of the Eternal Sun.
Awesome video. Very well put together.
Drinking game: take a shot every time he mentions “polar bear”
loved this mate, keep it up 👍
I clicked here thinking “hey you must be where Cecilia is!”
more videos on svalbard and norway please! just been to norway for two weeks its been magical
