Edit: one of my hamsters had to be down a few days ago. She had a horrible infection that wouldn’t go away. This is my first major pet loss (as before this I’ve only had fish) and I don’t even know what to do
Edit 2: it’s been a while since little Apple passed, and I’m doing good. Obviously I still miss her but I still have Cinnamon and she’s doing well so I’m ok

I founded out hamster liked peanut butter cuz once i got gum stuck in my hair and i had to put peanut butter on it and i fell asleep and i woke up like at midnight and my hamster was eatting the peanut butter on my hair O-O

Buzzy Herbert actually, many people don’t know that hamsters are omnivores. Most people think that they are herbivores. So it isn’t exactly a well known fact. And “research is the first thing you should do” well obviously they are doing research, maybe they’ve decided they wanted a hamster just now so they’re doing research. Why are you here if you have done all your research?
My hamster died yesterday and the last thing we had fed her was a lil carrot treat.. Glad to know that wasn’t the cause of her loss

I made my hamster pasta with raw zucchini, tomato, scrambled eggs, cooked chicken, garnished with basil! LOL she LOVED it! She did not really like the tiny bits of tomato tho..... she ended up sitting on them and got tomato juice all over her but! LOL hehehe

Thank you! I’ve been wanting to put my hamster Clover on a better diet and I have a lot of this stuff on my grocery shopping list anyway, so I won’t have to go out just for hamster food. Besides, I love making tiny little dishes of things and finally I have a reason to! I will go out and get all of this tomorrow :)

@@g.0674 hey there! Unfortunately, Clover developed a tumor on her stomach and it would be too much financially and for her to go through surgery to remove it, so we decided to put her down. She is loved very much still and there isn’t a day that I don’t miss her, but I can rest now knowing that she’s not in any more pain. I now own three mice, and no worries! Even a year ago, I wouldn’t ever only feed her what was listed in the video! I made sure to give her a balanced diet between a regular seed mix for hamsters and fresh produce, making sure it was only once or twice a week. Thank you so much for the concern however, I totally forgot I made this comment but I’m overjoyed that there are people who are willing to check up, even much later. Happy holidays and new year!

Watching this and dicing up safe foods to feed to a former class pet, that robo dwarf is so cute and she doesn't get a lot of foods outside her seed mix and pellets +treats so I'll be giving her some celery, carrots, apples, and anything else I can safely feed her to help her stay healthy. When I took care of her for the summer, I use your videos to help my teacher lengthen her lifespan and help her live a better life, so thanks a bunch for uploading!

My gerbils favorite foods are, millet, sunflower seeds, apples, cucumber, and the little heart shapes that come in their food mix, don't know what they are called xD
As a treat you can give them raisins and a little bit of baby food which contains fruits and veggies don't get the ones with the bad veggies and fruits I suggest sweet corn and Blueberry with strawberry!!!
I think the little heart shaped things are Science Selective food pellets x

This is great! I am in the process of getting a black bear hamster and because I have not had one since I was a 14 (36 now) I wanted to do more in depth research about their care.
I too am surprised about them being able to eat meat, that is good to know. I also own a Guinea pig so I am pretty much ready when it comes to veggies and fruits.

ReindeerCat337 A cool thing you can do with plain yogurt is put some little drops of it on a baking sheet and freeze those to make DIY yogurt drops. You can add crushed berries to the yogurt as well to make berry flavored drops. :)

The authorities say that hamsters may then reproduce so much that they will then affect the flora and fauna negatively and so hamsters are a threat in Australia!

i have a hamster and a rabbit and im a 37 year old male. i weirdly grown to love animals much more than i ever did before not sure why. I realized i was not up to par with my hamsters feeding when i brought the rabbit into my home. I decided to start feeding my hamster all kinds of things where he used to just get pellets and a treat. i notice now he comes out of his home now searching through the glass for my location and gets all excited when i come to him. He waits for me to pet him and i can tell he really loves his life and im so happy i made that change for him. Buy small animals and you learn a different kind of love.

The grapes,apples can be fed without the skin too. Sugary fruits must be small,limited to once a week since they it will cause diabetes. The quantity should be no bigger then the size of your pinkie nail for sugary fruits.The tomato is acidic. The celery is stringy which may cause choking. Cabbage/cucumber may upset their stomach.
