Lovely view of the pacers, we used to call them nodding donkeys, as you can see in the video they are nodding the passengers to sleep. LOL. I used to go there regularly with my kids, they weren't bothered but an ice cream on the way made them happy. You could see so much stuff from the top of the banking. Great video brings back so many happy times.
Fantastic stuff! Sadly due to to being “good” at sport and the general feeling I got from my teammates and friends that this hobby and sport didn’t mix I denied myself all of this through the 80’s/90’s. Live not too far away and travelling too and from various sporting locations I would see the flood lights etc and long to go and have a look, but rarely did. All gone now of course and I feel huge regret I wasn’t more true to myself. Massive thanks to you for a least filling in some gaps. Jason.
You're so very welcome Jason and you are certainly not alone. Even in these times there still seems to be a kind of stigma when relating an interest in railways or trains. It was a bit taboo to have an interest in the subject back in those days if you worked on the railway and the general referred to us as "Closet" enthusiasts.....I am very happy to fill in these gaps so to speak for you and it is greatly appreciated that I can provide the material for you to see.....so many thanks and best regards....Mark
@7.25-10.05 My last Class 47 . 47550 (Ex-Inverness TMD Loco) I needed back in 1983 when I gave up 12 Years of spotting & covered 95% of BR Depots at that time & all BR Works on the network, This evaded me for Years, then in early 2006, I had to go drive to Grimsby, took a wrong turn & ended up at a dead end in which A Derelict 47550 in the same colours was noted at the end of a line of old rusty Trucks, I was completely Gobsmacked but so pleased I actually saw it finally.

Happy memories of sneaking round this depot and yard in the1960s, often they used to stack lines of scrapped steamers on their way to BarryDocks
It looks so abandoned even in the 1990s....Many thanks and best wishes Lozzie....Mark
