hands down the thing i look forward to most during the christmas season is watching A Christmas Story with my family every year! We cant wait for A Christmas Story Christmas!
I would like to visit someday, but I live in Utah. They also used potato flakes for snow in Home Alone also.
this is my mom favorite movie!
House museum and gift shop well worth the visit if near Cleveland
my dad has THE LEG LAMP FROM THIS MOVIE, no one can touch it but him!!
Do you ever touch when the old man isn't around ??
UMMMM I doubt it.@1:20
Did he buy it from the guy that bought the house
Can you imagine if one of the three lamps used in the filming survived? Apparently they threw them all away! Even broken they'd be worth quite a bit especially if the one that was filmed broken was kept especially since it was part of the movie as being broken by Ralphie's mother! If I had to put a dollar amount on something like that I would say $20,000.
Awesome post. "Merry Christmas"!
NOT A FINGAH!
You used up all the glue ON PURPOSE!
When Flick's tongue is stuck to the pole it wasn't really stuck. They drilled a small hole and it acted as a vacuum. My favorite movie.
Smart!
That hole in the pole was actually connected to a small pump via a thin tube, and they could turn it on/off at will.
it was funny when ralphie's dad yelled at the furnace in the it's a clinker scene. he cussed like Yosemite sam in that scene
Jean Shepherd should be a household name. His radio shows are brilliant. In case people don’t know, this movie is based on Shep’s story “Duel in the Snow, or Red Ryder nails the Cleveland Street Kid” from his book In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash. Incidentally, Shep is in the movie. He’s the guy who yells at Ralphie for cutting in the Santa line.. of course, he’s also the narrator. Legendary piece of Americana from a true legend.
The actress who played the teacher was pregnant through the whole filming.
Did Ralphie has something to do with that?
"My old man worked in profanity the way artists worked in oils or clay..."
I wonder if the neighbors to the museum have a bunch of random bloodhound dogs like the Bumpes’s that come wandering over
The This End Up vs His End Up story is not completely true. Watch the movie carefully during that scene... you can clearly see both of those sayings on the side/top of box as it's laid to the ground. If it was two different boxes/set locations as he states, and the one used at the real house had to have one side cut down to fit through the door, you would see the full This End Up (on top of the box) for the takes done on the sound stage, and His End Up for the takes done in the real house, but the His End Up is there on top of the box all the time... it doesn't change. Imo, the box was cut to fit through the door as he says, but no part of that scene was done on a sound stage.
Yay There is a replica of the cupboard.:-):-O:-O:-D This is a wonderful movie.:-)
"The Chicago Bears....more like Chipmunks, but not Bears." I knew some of the 6, but not all 6.
its duck it taste like duck its cooked like duck it IS DUCK
Why isn't Christmas story celebrated in its true hometown of Hammond In ? The author of the books which the movie is based on grew up there , the actual home, street , and even his elementary school is here. 🤦
Does anyone know what The Old man actually did for a job?
Filing clerk.
seriously the ugliest Christmas tree ive ever seen at; 1:11
I think that's the whole point.
