That train was known as the Museum Train back in the late 70s and traveled all over the Provence pulling a bunch of cars with museum displays in them. I remember how it woke me up the morning it pulled into Kimberley. What a nice sound to wake up to.
Their reasoning was that Canada exchanged a lot of freight traffic with the united states and that most of the railway locomotive shops were subsideries of us companies.
Caliber410 It'd be nice if they had the entirety of the line restored so they could start up a profitable freight business. In fact, I once had a dream that, in an alternate timeline, the Kettle Valley Steam Railway had managed to save the entirety of the old Kettle Valley Railway. They also had a profitable freight business, and they interchanged with Canadian Pacific on a regular basis. Heck, CP even let them run main line excursions on special occasions.

Rear end train markers turned the wrong way. Should be green to front and both sides, red to the rear only.
