Cool note about the picture, the man standing there to the left side drinking from a cup with a hat on, that is Judit's dad, Laszlo Polgar. Very cool to see him there, a legend himself, watching his daughter play against the world champion(both legends themselves, respectively) and win a very nice game. I appreciate when the photos are included, it's a nice way to remind us that chess is a social/human thing, not just a 2d board with pieces.

There’s a beautiful dialogue amidst this game; first Judit states “I am so lucky I am still playing”, Magnus says “no castling” while blundering the Queen, Judit spots it in two heartbeats and proceeds with the bishop, Magnus immediately claims “oh my god, complete self-mate!” while laughing to which Judit replies, “but Magnus is such a gentleman” in a very light atmosphere. Then a member of the audience pitches in with a tease which Magnus picks up and concurred “lack of experience in the Sicilian!”. Simply fantastic

I was not terribly familiar with Judit Polgar before this game, but a quick look at her Wikipedia shows how much of a BEAST she is. I'd love to see some more games of hers on the channel.
@@95Kyo She could do well as a chess ambassador a la Hikaru. Compete in games without the pressure of needing a win to advance her career, so that she can play interesting lines and stream to capture a wider audience. Would particularly suit her as an attacking player.

I really love Judit her playstyle! Current chess is kinda ruined with all the stupid engine preparation. Judit just plays like a vicious shark, amazing!

I have to say I've recently in the last 3 years got back into chess watching every tournament I can generally on this site but I never took any notice of Judit ... she is the grandmaster slayer... she is devastating and my only worry would be did these GM's not take her so seriously initially because she is an absolute beast when it comes to attacking... overnight became my favourite player of all time ... she is relentless...very funny and bridges the so called gap between men/women which should not be debated because its your game that you are judged by not your gender
I accept that Magnus is the strongest player alive, but Judit Polgar is something else. I have a huge respect for her. If you are interested in "a cool story," read her wiki. She was raised when computer engines didn't exist, was the strongest woman chess player for 25 years and was in Top 10 for some time among all chess players.

I was just watching this on judit polar channel.. original footage was so fun, when Anish takes out it phone to click a picture and instantly laughed at the move. Loved it.

Thank you for making a video on this game, Antonio!! Great performance by Judit. Side note: Instead of "tread carefully" you can also say "tread lightly", like Heisenberg said in an amazing Breaking Bad scene

Excellent game and reaction / commentary - thank you :) What do you think was the tactical purpose of Rc8: we know that it's a blunder / oversight, but Magnus must have been planning something with the rook / queen compared to making just any other move?
There could be many reasons, for example: Preventing white bishop from pinning the rook Supporting queen down c or keeping knight pinned when queen is moved. Who knows what the champ is thinking
