@@pookhahare I seem to remember a case that made news in Japan where a woman working in politics was drugged and assaulted by her boss and she decided to press charges so with it going to trail it was made public and the woman was harassed endlessly by the Japanese press and by the public for making a fuss. This happened recently but I don’t remember her name unfortunately, but the sense I got from that was that women are encouraged to not report it.
As a Japanese I am embarrassed about every one of these points you have made. I believe we are in general, law-abiding and well-behaved, but we do have some incredible exceptions to the rule. I also think our justice system is too lenient towards lawbreakers.
Honestly, Japanese prisons are harsh. Sometimes baddies slip through the cracks, but I can assure you from all the documentaries I've watched, the Japanese prison system is nothing people want to go back to.

Assume somebody slapped you across the face, cheated on you, etc. You post proof of what they did online, well, the original scumbag could sue for defamation (And will likely win, despite deserving to be put on blast). I thought it was clear what the author was doing here. Not that I am defending it, I do think it should have remained faithful to the original source out of respect for Junko. At the same time though, I do know why the author did what he did, and he should not have had to do that. Japanese law is fucked. Junko Furata's case pissed me right off. I covered it for a university paper and I nearly had a mental breakdown because of how much research I had to do for it. It was just such a senseless and horrific crime. I actually sited one of Aki's videos and I think I sited one of Joey's one it too. It was just such a horrifying case. This poor innocent girl didn't deserve what happened to her and the fact people made a manga on it was sickening. To clarify, her case wasn't the only one I did. I had to do multiple cases for the paper, but hers by far was the most horrifying and devastating one.

@@bozehage Without a shadow of a doubt I believe she vandalized the grave. A lot of the resources I found stated that and quite personally I don't see it being out of the pictures. I don't believe the Houston thing but I think she definitely vandalized the grave. For the paper I did, I covered three cases. But Junko's was the one I took the most care into. I took a lot of care with the others but this one I felt I had to be especially delicate with.

What has always annoyed me with Watsuki Nobuhiro (aside from the nature of his crime) is that he gets away with that, meanwhile the guy that did the soundtrack to the Death Note anime got busted for pot possession, and went to prison for years and his career was destroyed. One of the guys who took part of the Junko case is currently on Twitter and a free man. Under his replies everyone posts a picture of Junko and curses him in like every language. I mean the police there are known to also convince victims who come forwards to NOT press charges BECAUSE they want their crime rates to be low. So that’s a giant factor in the low crime rates
I was raped in Japan, but i didn't go to the police because A. Im a forginer B. There were no female officers at the time (and i did NOT want to "recreate" the assult in front of random men) C. It was in 2016 and i knew the guy from before and i didnt want to be victem blamed. I love Japan, and i enjoyed living there, but i found the justice system tricky and traumatic when it especially comes to women.

A large part is just due to the laws they have against cp and how they didn't make having the cp itself before the law passed by a crime so unless they could prove you got it after the law passed they couldn't do shit basically or something like that. If anyone reading this knows of a western agency we can report the site to so it gets blocked in the west, then the owners of the shop will notice a drop off in customers from overseas and then maybe they will clean up their act. People get so mentally invested in this fake outward persona that they resort to lying to themselves and each other to fit in. It often results in people going to differing extremes in terms of how they act. Take their view on relationships and sexuality. Most of the time Japanese people maintain a pristine, staunchly conservative lifestyle where they don’t even think about that stuff, leading to the decline of families and low birth rate. While on the other hand there are people who feel strong love/sexual urges but don’t know how to express those feelings in a healthy, ethical way as they fear it will be frowned upon. This contributes to things like stalking, cheating on partners or even outright abuse which has become such an increasing problem there as well. A lot of people just can ‘t find a good balance or middle ground for how to think and live sometimes due to being put under intense social pressure and being raised in an environment where only one way is deemed acceptable.

The fact Japan's " crime rate" is so low is only due to them arresting even innocent people and holding them untill they force a confession which contributes to a 98% conviction rate. But then some rightful criminals just get lucky and never face convictions. It's a screwed up world we live in.
The story of Junko Furuta made me feel physically sick. I've been searching through the internet to try and find evidence of justice for her and her family, and it has not been delivered by the Japanese legal system. The perpetrators faced lenient sentences, classified as "minors" as they were under 20. I'm sickened they're out and free now.

The crazy bit about japan is that the crime rare is super low but that means the crimes that DO happen are either super benign/low-grade stuff or fucking wild and easily sensationalized. They also are notoriously light on sex crime punishments and therefore the "handle it behind closed doors" culture is even more prevalent.

Junko Furata's case pissed me right off. I covered it for a university paper and I nearly had a mental breakdown because of how much research I had to do for it. It was just such a senseless and horrific crime. I actually sited one of Aki's videos and I think I sited one of Joey's one it too. It was just such a horrifying case. This poor innocent girl didn't deserve what happened to her and the fact people made a manga on it was sickening.
To clarify, her case wasn't the only one I did. I had to do multiple cases for the paper, but hers by far was the most horrifying and devastating one.
I would like to ask you a question, since you have even written a paper on Junko's case. As Aki said in this video, do you think it's true that the culprit's mother vandalized Junko's grave?
There are even rumors that Junko's grave was relocated to Houston, USA, but I think that is a bit unlikely.
Personally, I think the story that the culprit's mother vandalized her grave is just a rumor and probably not true, but I would like to hear your opinion.

For the paper I did, I covered three cases. But Junko's was the one I took the most care into. I took a lot of care with the others but this one I felt I had to be especially delicate with.

A large part is just due to the laws they have against cp and how they didn't make having the cp itself before the law passed by a crime so unless they could prove you got it after the law passed they couldn't do shit basically or something like that.

If anyone reading this knows of a western agency we can report the site to so it gets blocked in the west, then the owners of the shop will notice a drop off in customers from overseas and then maybe they will clean up their act.

The reason why many weebs don’t realise that is because of “confirmation bias” which the brain tends to look for things or patterns that confirms their beliefs creating the illusion that what you think you know is objective truth but really isn’t. It’s scientifically proven so there’s no denying it. That’s why most weebs or people who watch anime believe Japan has little crime rate or haven’t done fcked up shit, they believe what they want to believe, triggering cognitive confirmation biases. I like Japan but when it comes to absolute truth, then I put my biases aside. It’s not surprising why most people who go to Japan have said that “Japan is great to visit but not for long term.”

It often results in people going to differing extremes in terms of how they act. Take their view on relationships and sexuality. Most of the time Japanese people maintain a pristine, staunchly conservative lifestyle where they don’t even think about that stuff, leading to the decline of families and low birth rate. While on the other hand there are people who feel strong love/sexual urges but don’t know how to express those feelings in a healthy, ethical way as they fear it will be frowned upon. This contributes to things like stalking, cheating on partners or even outright abuse which has become such an increasing problem there as well. A lot of people just can ‘t find a good balance or middle ground for how to think and live sometimes due to being put under intense social pressure and being raised in an environment where only one way is deemed acceptable.

Did you know that until a few years ago in Japan, the juvenile law meant that the names and faces of juvenile criminals were not made public? The law has already been revised to deal with violent crimes committed by minors.

The story of Junko Furuta made me feel physically sick. I've been searching through the internet to try and find evidence of justice for her and her family, and it has not been delivered by the Japanese legal system. The perpetrators faced lenient sentences, classified as "minors" as they were under 20. I'm sickened they're out and free now.
Junko doesn't get any real justice till this day and her story was reduced to nothing but a toy for stupid gender wars and radical feminism.
