I recognized the MY OLOH in the slip next to you. Another UA-cam Channel.
Practice makes perfect when you don’t have bow thrusters!!

I've never even owned a boat, but I have been looking at so many that I immediately recognized that DeFever 44 - because, it has so many of the features that I'm looking for in a boat:
Good option as a live aboard
Not too big, not too small
    Fuel sipping diesel engines
    Huge fuel capacity/long range
    Great engine room
Many, if not most, have fin stabilizers
    Classic trawler lines
And, they seem quite reasonably priced, compared to many others
I like the DeFever 44 and the DeFever 49 with raised Pilothouse, even better.
So glad you posted this training video! But, I did want to ask, do you have a structured way of training new boat owners, or do you train new captains differently, based on their experience or lack of experience? Thanks!

Learning to drive without all of the "gadgets" is the best way to do it. Because, when those gadgets fail, you need to know how to handle the boat.

Never had anything with thrusters, but I bet its a lot like 4 wheel drive. If you have it and rely on it to much, you end up taking more and more risks an get in trouble more often. Eventually getting in to situation it cant get you back out of. But if you have it as a backup system, an only use it to get you out of trouble when something unexpected happens, it does that job well.

This might sound crazy, but can a person install rear view cameras on a boat to aid in tight maneuvering?
