Cliff it is always good to watch you take time out to camp and relax and sit by a fire and chat. You are not the first to burn jiffy pop. Down to earth real guy you are!!
This was so nice...the birds singing...it was like I was camping. You weren't in a strange hurry either. You should do more of these. Father in heaven bless you. ❤
You had rude camping neighbors keeping you up a bit, but you didn't retaliate in the morning - such a good man - so refreshing! I enjoy all these camping trips where we can go along w/ you! Binge watching your videos and having a blast.
I'm sorry Cliff, but I did laugh. It's obvious you are not a Baby-boomer. There is a Jiffy Pop instructional video on UA-cam. Three things you did wrong; 1. The flame was too high. 2. You did not shake the pan vigorously enough. 3. The critical error was popping a hole in the side of the expanding balloon. Jiffy Pop was a staple in our house. Mom always made a batch when we would watch the Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday evenings.
You're at one of the places my wife, who has passed and i went. Im maybe thirty five miles to the north. I remember as night came......so did the racoons. So many and persistent that we had to get back in the truck camper. Long time ago now. About 40 years now. Now i live in what most city folks would call a destination. Its just home, lots of shade, lots of critters and an empty wallet now feeding all the racoons here. Cookies, peanuts, dog food, hot dogs, grapes, cereal, etc. . The Racoon Whisperer started me on that lol. Funny looking back.. Ive seen chaos. A boring day is a great day. Feeding the critters at dusk a satisfying life. Was nice to see Raccoon Creek again.
Hold it up over the flame and shake it pretty fast. If you leave those Jiffy pops sitting on the flame they’ll burn. I learned that when I did exactly what you did when first time making it for my kids. My kids are 51 and 56 years old now.I wonder how long Jiffy Pop has been around now that I think of it. Loved this video, some cool gifts. You’re so much fun.
Cliff! you’re the best! had a really busy beginning to the summer so I couldn’t watch all of your videos as soon as they came out. Glad I get to spend all day today watching your adventures and catching up!
I could never get Jiffypop to work right. It always burned Maybe there was a concert or ball game those people were at,being that close to Pgh. I didn't know you were coming out this way or I would've let you know about Bushy Run. Did you see all the trees down across from the entrance? Im still amazed. When you can get there, try to go to Old Hannastown, too. Its a cool place. I have that same stepstool. How did that fan work out for you? Does it have heat, too? Lovin this camping with you. Ive only had one trip this year. Id like to do Kettle Creek this fall. Be safe as always ❤❤❤❤❤❤
My Dad made the popcorn in our house in our old battered “popcorn pan”. Little bit of oil, popcorn kernels and lots shaking. Oh yeah, butter and salt too.
It was like a little Jiffy Chernobyl dude. The black stuff was graphite from the core. Lol. Next time use less heat (lower flame or better yet- cook over some campfire embers and shake more after you start to hear them start to pop. Remove from the heat as soon as the popping slows down. I have been enjoying your wanderings.
I make it to raccoon a couple times a year. Haven't camped there yet. Hope u liked Ohiopyle. Pretty tourist trappy these days tho. Been really hot, humid here this summer.
Epic jiffy pop fail. The blowout killed ya. Jiffy pop is a camping staple for us!: also the amphitheater at burgesstown is 15 minutes away. Sounds like it was a concert night. Folks not around and showing up after 11...they were rocking for sure.
made Jiffy Pop SOOO many times as a child. and yes, I am sorry, but I did laugh. But if you have never made it, then you could not have known how to do it. You didn't move it nearly vigorously enough and you cannot ever let it sit still. Once the foil pops like that, you just have to stop. Love your videos and love the real circumstances of them.
Once the hole in the side happened, the pressure was lost inside. The pressure inside to allow room for the popcorn to pop and the foil to expand upward was too low to function as it should. Looks like a manufacturing defect to me.
Maybe save paper and wash your dishes with water and reusable cloths? Not trying to be nasty or ugly... just a suggestion❤ With the Jiffy Pop, maybe a combination of the hole, heat too high and not shaking the pan fast enough? Love your videos!
Years ago I had dry wipes that had dish Detergent in it. You just put water on one and washed whatever. I used them on picnics. Don't think they make them anymore.
@@nancymann5351I think they do I was looking under RV supplies and I found them they are just a plug of paper u soak in water and they expand it has soap in it too
Karma - your popcorn effort was probably about equal to your neighbor's tent construction, but both were probably equally as entertaining! The key to popcorn is to never let the kernels get still on the pan too long once the oil starts to sizzle, and especially once the kernels start to pop. That will shake the unpopped kernels down into the oil. You have to keep them moving, shaking fairly vigorously. I'd guess that the heat was too hot, too, or concentrated in too small an area of the pan. A medium heat works best. Here's a guy who knows what he's doing when it comes to jiffy pop: ua-cam.com/video/a_pZYyecgWY/v-deo.html
When you have a side blow outlet the popcorn off the heat so ýou don't do as you did and burn it up, yes heat was a bit to high. Popcorn pan is wrapped and bent so yeah it heated to fast ND blew out at which point you can see smoke blowing out the hole. And why as silly humans do we always feel we must have a fire no matter how hot it is out. Also fun you can gage the heat out by how close you sit to fire if it is hot far away if cold nearly in the fire.
In the future when you see smoke billowing out from a pan take it off the heat. I hope someone sends a fire extinguisher and please don’t cook on a stove inside.
Usually we find your videos informative and enjoyable but being an outdoorsman and a teacher maybe instead of poking fun of the three possibly new campers you might have reached out to see if they could need a hand. In the camping world that would be a good Samaritan.
I came here to say the same thing. I usually enjoy these videos but I questioned why Cliff would actually make a point to call out that they were struggling but not help? Not very kind and definitely not something I’d be pointing out to my thousands of viewers either, unless I was going to offer help.

I sent that popcorn!! Nostalgia from my childhood! Have to shake it fast lol
I wish more people were as considerate to others as you are. I love the fact that you are not a "retaliator". Thank you for another great video!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it's too hot this summer...blah indeed! ☀️ 🔥 🥵
Jiffy Pop, Jiffy Pop, the magic treat! As much fun to make, as it is to eat!
Isn’t it funny how no matter how hot it is you still want to sit in front of a hot campfire when you are camping.😂
Need to shake the jiffy pop fast, we used to hold it a bit off the heat source (usually a campfire) or they burn.
This was so nice...the birds singing...it was like I was camping. You weren't in a strange hurry either. You should do more of these. Father in heaven bless you. ❤

@@ltgray2780Sorry about that, Chief!
@@martharetallick204 LOL. Took me a minute to get that one.
I always enjoy your camping videos. Thanks for sharing!
I hope you had a good nights rest. I appreciate all you do to make these videos.
When I saw the Jiffy Pop, I had a feeling that was going to be the thing that went wrong!
Love your camping trips !
Another beautiful day out in the woods !
Another great camping time with Cliff.. love it

Great video, well-done popcorn is better than none!

“Houston We Have A Problem” 😂😂😂😂😂
😂 never had much luck with those popcorn pan things myself😂
Me neither
Thanks Cliff!
nice time 🏕️🍿
Ohiopyle and the area around it are very special to me. I hope you enjoy it
Nothing beats a campfire during a heat wave!
😅😅😅😅
Thanks Cliff.
Maybe cranking up a little opera in the morning would be appreciated!😅 Condolences on the Jiffy pop.😢 👍
Raccoon was the first place I can remember camping as a child.
I grew up camping with dinty Moore for dinner, so this video is nostalgic for me
I miss camping in PA
You mentioned you went to the high point in Washington Counmty. Did you go to Mount Wheeler? You should beaable to drive up there.
I love the sound of turbines in the morning.

Red Hot Chili Peppers with Kid Cudi and Irontom
It will take a minute to settle down.😂
Awe I wanna go camping
Well I hope the fan and Jackery help keep you somewhat comfortable in this heat overnight
Good to see you using a safe stable stove instead of that backpackers pocket rocket.

Heat too high. And, you've got to shake the popcorn vigorously to stir it while it cooks.
You have to shake it harder . When it started to smoke/ burn, you should have taken it off the heat.
Once the hole in the side happened, the pressure was lost inside. The pressure inside to allow room for the popcorn to pop and the foil to expand upward was too low to function as it should. Looks like a manufacturing defect to me.
I like that shirt you sleep in. I dont see it in your store anymore.😢
It was a gift from a viewer.
Low heat for Jiffy
pop
After a long day like that, I’d be in a Hotel ordering DoorDash 😂😂
You should try Harpers ferry State Park

Great video thanks Cliff. Think the shaking was too gentle. You need to give them big shakes. Better next time. Please take care of
Be very careful removing the top card they don't make them like they used to . Must have nicked a small hole in the foil . Steam is the key lol
Heat was too high for the popcorn. You need to shake it like it owes you money, not just swirl it around. Don't feel bad it usually burns.
Karma…. You should not have laughed at the neighbors putting up their tent 😂
This ain't hot. Try the tropical heat, that's is hot 🥵
Or desert heat.

Very fast circular motion, not slow motion lol

You've never experienced jiffy pop???shake over flame.....you messed up
Just a note*****
