Most of my ‘regrets’ are the buys that epitomise a fantasy life style I daydream about but will never live, or only very occasionally. Those items are almost like a cosplaying kit 😂 but hey, they do make me feel special! Practicalities of my life could probably be served by 70% ‘athleisure and running errands’ wear but my wardrobe is only about 40% that kind of stuff?! Still I would find it hard to part with my ‘maybe once or twice a year’ beautiful and special items. When challenged about that I always say “I like my money where I can see it - in my wardrobe.” 😎
@@seabreeze4559 I wonder why you would think this is about shame and/or men when it is about neither. As for luggage, I should be in the luggage industry since I've had so many different brands over the last five decades since a young teen traveling solo overseas. I love luggage. Luggage to me is like what shoes are to others. LOL! I still have multiple brands of luggage even now at the same time. Different luggage for different trip situations. I've used different brands of luggage while traveling quite hardcore, almost annually, on every continent except Antartica. Personally, my go-to suitcases are my hard sided Tumi ones. Not one suitcase has been destroyed and my suitcases go through a lot. When I'm in S.E. Asia on extended vacations, my checked luggage goes through at least 6-8 airports over a 6-week period. I've had the Tumi V-4 hard sided suitcases for a decade now on trips where I've been in both Asia and Europe within the same year along with trips here within the U.S. I have 2-3 large Tumi suitcases and 2 of the carry-on size, one in the V-4 international size and one in the non-international size, a bit bigger and good on U.S. and some other flights. As for the Tumi V-4, I don't think that particular model is still made, but I've seen it online through discount places and one can usually get a new large suitcase for under $500. When it comes to luggage, what's important to me is that it isn't destroyed in transit. I could care less about scratches and possibly a few dents. It's luggage and the airlines are rough. In 2019, when my best friend and I got back to L.A. from a trip to NoLa, her suitcase was the last one to come down the chute to the carousel at LAX. It was also a hardsided suitcase, but not Tumi. Her suitcase was totally destroyed. We'd never seen anything like it before. She had a bottle of liquor inside which was very securely wrapped, but broke and spilled all over her clothes. We stood in a line at the airline office for her to fill out a claim. And then we had to put that mangled alcohol-soaked smelly suitcase into my car. My other suitcases are my LV Bisten hard sided ones which are great except there are no wheels. I bought both suitcases in Europe in the 1980s a few years apart and traveled all over Europe and also here in the U.S. with them. I also took one of them to New Zealand and Australia. I had brown canvas custom made covers made at my luggage maker's small shop here and with a two-way industrial zipper system which can be locked with a TSA lock at the zipper tabs. I never needed to lock the actual suitcases which really came in handy when TSA locks were suddenly required in the 2000s. Greetings from Los Angeles
THANK YOU so much Cassie for the Rimowa mention! I was very close to buying new luggage from them! However, the reviews and price increases made me very hesitant! Thanks for the alternatives as well! Will definitely look into the other options, cause paying 1000+$ for poor quality but good customer service is not cute 😂😅
Well I’m glad I put this out when I did! Definitely have a look around because there’s a lot of very cool, chic looking luggage brand out now - also look at Crash luggage for a different vibe 💖💖
How are they with repairs and replacements? I’m finding these days that even my most formally reliable suitcases are getting broken and battered to hell because the airport is just throwing everything around so carelessly, so I don’t even know if I feel comfortable buying any bag I know is going underneath the plane without the most robust repair and replacement options
Oh I am so glad you did this video!!! I have so many regrets mostly boots and shoes just sitting in the boxes. Thousands wasted! I feel a little better now!
Off the gate you start with my favorite bag! 😮 love the bag and size. The bag was never going to meet your TBE aesthetic. Looking to add the python print to my collection. 😊 I’m with you on not wearing painful shoes! Makes no sense to pay money to be in pain! Great video! TFS 😊❤
I obsessed over a YSL bag from 2017 that I was finally able to get (secondhand) in 2022 - 5 years of longing! $900 spent! Only for me to realize, after a month or so of gazing at it adoringly, that upon wearing it was so FREAKING heavy even when empty that it was next to impossible to wear when full. Especially given all the crap I simply must have on me at all times. Cut to 2 years of feeling angsty about it and having only worn it like 3 times, I finally cut my losses and gave it to my sister as a gift because she’s in love with it and consistently has only phone/cardholder/keys in her bag at any time so she doesn’t mind the heft.
Glad to see you back Cassie and you never disappoint me with your videos you are my truly truly inspiration and I wish you have a blessed week ahead😀💖💖💖
I bought an Anine Bing black leather shoulder bag, but within months of use, the lock broke. I went and had it fixed for $150 (Which is a lot considering the bag was around $600). Within a month the lock had broken again. Now I am stuck with a beautiful bag that I can use or sell.
I remember when you got the Gucci tote. I thought all the thoughts/complaints you voice now. The good news? You have made far more amazing purchases than the ones you regret!
Hey Cassie! Not sure if you've seen them, but Tory Burch has a pair of sandals that would pair sooooo good with your Jacquemus bag. The Patos Mismatch Sandals (heeled version) in silver would look so good with that bag and I can see you rocking it! Anyways, loved the video!
I love Tumi! I traveled with it few times and no problems. I couldn’t get Rimowa hype so decided to go with Tumi. I got a cover, but they lost it at Heathrow as I expanded it and stuffed to the brim the cover didn’t close at the bottom so I will have to rebuy it as they do protect the suitcase and keep it tight and safe.
Jon Hart is a luggage brand I swear by. I’m 30 and got a whole set for my high school graduation when I was 17. The luggage has been abused on every trip I’ve had since then- international travel, cobblestone streets, rough airport handlers, etc. They still look brand new. The only thing that is starting to go is the rubber grips on the handle which has started to dry rot while being stored in the attic. They hold a ton too- I was able to pack for 2 weeks in a foreign country with a only a carry on. It’s worth a google!
I just bought the smaller version of that silver clutch. It’s sitting in my home office still in the delivery box waiting to be opened. I would never use the larger version either. I have multiple large designer clutches I never use. Lesson has been learned.
SO glad I’m not the only one who felt iffy about the Jacquemus clutch. I was able to order one during one of the restocks and I couldn’t get over how big it was. The magnet was also faulty so it never stayed closed, which annoyed me so much. I returned it and haven’t regretted it since, and I got the mini Fendi crystal baguette instead. If they brought out the silver in the smaller size though, I might have to repurchase lol 👀😂
The strap on the gucci tote made me cackle 🤣 Cltches typically do have feet, but for the size & width of the base, it definitely could use them. The visual i got of that zipper mangling hair is catastrophic 😵
I have three pairs of YSL shoes: loafers, boots and trainers. They are all very uncomfortable, run small and narrow (I have narrow feet and still find them very tight).
I never understood the hype around Rimowa. I've always been a Tumi person or a cheap hard shell luggage set because they always break. Tumi doesn't do cute colors but the functionality and quality is A+. I think Away has what looks to be a more durable plastic than Rimowa if you want colors.
1)Hermes Oran slippers they no grip on the bottom and ended up having a few bad falls 2)Moschino 2-1 sunglasses (the one you can flip up and has your power glass under it )
These YSL have the heels at the end of the heel, they'd be more comfy if they were centered. On the suitcases, I gasped! I was just thinking about my Samsonite that is about 15 years old and still holding up amazingly (in fabric, not the fanciest looking but roomy and sturdy!) 100% recommend
You are so true about the Rimowa. First flight, the wheel was missing..😢 the amount of money I pay for that. I quickly returned it and went back to TUMI.
A pox on heavy bag hardware!😖I just learned this about Tumi - they use carbon fiber in many of their bags. It's an extremely strong & resilient material, hence costly. So your lovable parents have the right idea.😊Something else that's lovable - Cassie Thorpe videos.🏆❣️🌻
I have learned my lesson with Chanel shoes in general. Many of them are very hard and uncomfortable. The time it takes to break them in "IF" you can stand it is more than I can deal with. I have stopped buying new Chanel footwear. My new motto is the best Chanel shoe is one that someone else has already suffered through and even with that I am extremely careful. I understand the Gucci tote, that is how I felt about the ONTHEGO in GM tote. I wanted it so band then quickly found out I made a mistake. Tumi is very reliable.
I NEVER pay full price for Tom ford sunglasses, they’re on Gilt constantly. I refuse to pay full price for sunglasses in general if I’m being honest. Gilt, Nordstrom rack, saks off 5th - you can find them all on there if you’re savvy.
I have a Fendi backpack that’s just hard to latch. I love the bag tho but I’ve been thinking about parting with it…I’ve never sold a bag but I think I’d sell it 💔
The irony that my most uncomfortable shoes are also ysl… the jimmy 20 sandals. The leather never really broke in or softened. If I walked in them for more than 20 minutes they made my feet bleed where the leather rubbed and it hurt so bad 😣. Still have them but on the rare occasion they’re worn, I now use band aids. Love your channel, Cassie ❤
I'm honestly not surprised you don't like the clutch or shoes. the silver bag looks 8os I'd find in my moms old trunk in the attic and the shoes are weirdly high arched in a weird way. I love the look of the CC boots , the the smooth leather is a slip hazard ! Have the Gucci bag strap ring moved to the opposite corner of its position now so it diagonals and itll wear more like its a its more cross body
Hahaha...yes, the Jacquemus bag is large but I ❤ it. Bought it quickly not realizing a smaller version was coming. Wish I saw this video before buying my 1st Rimowa suitcase.
for luggage have a soft spot for antler but the price has definitely gone up (I mean they were never cheap), the quality is definitely impeccable for the one I have and its quite hard to find a sturdy fabric one
You can purchase a stick on grip thingy for the bottom of your Chanel boots. Take all of the problem shoes to your local cobbler and they have a remedy for each.
These are my favorite videos of yours. 😂 the way you can tell a story. I so felt you on the Chanel boots, 🤣 the disappointment you feel when you just bought something only to realize that it’s not working for you. And I know exactly what you mean with the slippery feeling and the lack of cushioning in the boots. My regret was the Hermes Chypre. I was super excited, took them out the box and wore them immediately. Only to discover halfway to my coffee shop that there’s a reason I never bought slides before. So uncomfortable and they don’t stay on my feet. After only 5 mins, I hobbled into my coffee shop and had to call the hubby to bring me a pair of shoes. 😢And I couldn’t return them because I wore them outside. 🤦🏾♀️
Biggest regret was buying the Louis Vuitton Coussin bag when it originally came out. I have the emerald color and I hate the little tongue at the end of the back that ALWAYS gets stuck to the straps. The newer models have removed that little end bit which makes functionality sooo much easier! Green isn’t my favorite color so for that price tag I should have gotten a bag that is more me.
Love this sort of vlog , I buy so many designer bags and after a month I go off them because of some reason or another . I’m currently looking for a suitcase so was so interested in the names you mentioned a vlog on travel luggage and items would be great as you always give an honest review ❤
I love love the Gucci tote, but they really missed the mark with the single shoulder strap. A bag that size absolutely needs two. It reminds me of my LV On-the-Go Tote which I love. If only it had the double strap - because its a gorgeous bag!
Not that long ago I’ve seen a documentary about marketing and what not, and there’s a very interesting theory that I developed but that I’m sure doctors are already talking about and thinking, when there are limited editions, people are more prone to buy, since they know that the item is not going to be there for much longer. If applied to today’s market, since items come out faster than ever, we get the feeling that everything is limited edition, and it’s not going to be around for a long time; so, since we don’t have much time to buy, we might tend to skip the thinking part and we buy instinctively because we’re subconsciously afraid that we won’t find that anymore and we won’t be able to keep up with trends.
This video was soo good and hilarious! My favorite of 2024 thus far. I was coveting the Jacquemus Clutch ❤🔥so these details were extremely helpful and spot on.
Lol I’ve seen how the tarmac employees treat luggage and when I say my flabber was gasted! I’m getting a rinky dink big hardshell suitcase from target for my big trips cuz it’s wild!!
With the Gucci tote, maybe it would help if you got a cobbler to put a fixing for the strap on the opposite side of the bag to make it sit better so that it’s easier to carry? Maybe then you’d reach for it more x
Super interested in other suggestions than Rimowa and how they work out for you. I found out about Rimowa from watching your videos but only have a carryon rn. Still need a checked bag so would love a suggestion as you try other brands what you would prefer!
With the zipper blazer, is there some kind of coating a tailor or dry cleaning place can put on it? Like from the neck where you can't really see to the back? Just wondering. But nice collection. I also agree with your dad. Those boots just need a good break in. Maybe massage the top part, like everytime you take your nails off.
I have a pair of Dior sunglasses I have never worn silver, purple lens and rhinestones going across the top they were so cute when I saw them online and I was trying to be different and versatile in sunglass collection but I just can’t do it 😩
I think a smaller version of the Jacquemus would be so cute! Although tbh I would never ever buy a clutch. In fact I'm looking at it and wishing it had detachable straps.
Hey Cassie would you say that your birkin 25 is a regret? I noticed that you usually use and display the green one. I def have some luxury items that haven’t worked out but instead of regretting I take it as a learning experience and sell it to someone who will love it more 😁
YSL shoes in general are so uncomfortable. My Rimowa luggage set is going strong for over 10 years and I hope nothing ever happens to it because they don’t make the colour I have anymore.
I have just completed my third trip with a cabin size Rimowa polycarbonate and I fear you are correct, even considering I don't check it in as hold luggage. I am surprised the amount of marks the case has received (and the wheels have scrapped). The only reassuring factor is the lifetime guarantee (I acknowledge there will be caveats) and the fact that if I have problems whilst travelling with it, at least in a large city, I could find a Rimowa retailer relatively easily.
The test I use is "if they offered you a refund for it right now, would you take it?". Sadly so many items don't pass that test :,(
That is an EXCELLENT QUESTION
Omg I’m using this question when I evaluate my purchases now
I feel this way about my Chanel bags....not my lady Dior though, but hey ho I'd give my Chanel for 1k less even
Oooh, that’s a great way to access it!❤
of even better - if you saw it at a garage sale/ thrift store or in a estate sale would it look cheap or dated ?
The older I get, the more it seems like luxury is a scam. And yet, like a crackhead, I can’t let it go 😅
"Our luxury addicted family, when are we going to rehab? Never!!!"
"Our luxury addicted family, when are we going to rehab? NEVER!!!"
No truer words have been said. 😅
Hahaha well said, I am absolutely the same 😂
The way my feet “scrempt” !!! LOL !!! Yes !!!! The audacity of the YSL pump at $1500
😭😭😭
I’ve never been in more pain than the one time I wore my YSL heels out to a DINNER 😭 the pinches & blisters omg
My YSL loafers destroyed my feet. I love the way they look but it’s a steep price to pay.
Hilarious 😂😂😂

I have a Fendi backpack that’s just hard to latch. I love the bag tho but I’ve been thinking about parting with it…I’ve never sold a bag but I think I’d sell it 💔
nkuwan Bolsa réplica 1:1 con imagen reflejada, resistente y resistente al desgaste. Me gusta mucho.
Love my Samsonite luggage and i am ROUGH on it! have it in a bright blue!
Those sunglasses are everything Cas! Love them and they look good on you
Ahhh, Cassie, I can feel your pain. I have two pairs of Church (very hard) leather loafers that REFUSE to break in. They are beautiful though.😔
Oh gosh I hope they do sometime soon 🤞🏽
Thank you for this video! Very informative! Truly spoken from a practical perspective.
Glad it was helpful! 💖💖
Love this video! I have so many regrets as well. But we learn! Big hugs for you and Angelica!
We learn! And that’s the important thing! Thank you so much (Geli and I sent hugs back!) 💖
Hahaha...yes, the Jacquemus bag is large but I ❤ it. Bought it quickly not realizing a smaller version was coming.
Wish I saw this video before buying my 1st Rimowa suitcase.
I have never drooled over one of your bags the way I have the Jacquemus clutch 😩😩😩
I aspire to own as many Lucy beauties as you do. I have always loved fashion and watching your videos makes me feel like I will get there one day 🤭🥹
Yo! I’ve had Tumi luggage for years and the warranty used to be great. Now, I go with Briggs & Riley. Best warranty around. 😬
I’m obsessed with that Gucci green tote!!!
for luggage have a soft spot for antler but the price has definitely gone up (I mean they were never cheap), the quality is definitely impeccable for the one I have and its quite hard to find a sturdy fabric one
Great to know! Thank you!
You can purchase a stick on grip thingy for the bottom of your Chanel boots. Take all of the problem shoes to your local cobbler and they have a remedy for each.
I did the grip thankfully! But I think I’ll go back for the heat moulding!
The JM has the added benefit of being a weapon in tricky situations!
Tumi. Your parents are correct. Hugs.
My blue YSL envolope bag. Its beautiful but the type of blue doesnt go with anything. Plus, i like a structured bag but this is like a box!
Good Morning Cassie, thanks for another great video! I sort of knew you might have difficulty using the silver bag. Very cool design though! 😊
I was blinded (literally) by its beauty 😂
Love this sort of vlog , I buy so many designer bags and after a month I go off them because of some reason or another . I’m currently looking for a suitcase so was so interested in the names you mentioned a vlog on travel luggage and items would be great as you always give an honest review ❤
Love tumi I’ve had mine forever
I went to great lengths to get that Jacquemus bag, only for it to arrive and it was so big!!!! Why is it so big??!!!!
I love love the Gucci tote, but they really missed the mark with the single shoulder strap. A bag that size absolutely needs two. It reminds me of my LV On-the-Go Tote which I love. If only it had the double strap - because its a gorgeous bag!
You are hysterical, I really enjoy your videos… x
Good point! I’ll ask if they can do that!
I have a pair of Dior sunglasses I have never worn silver, purple lens and rhinestones going across the top they were so cute when I saw them online and I was trying to be different and versatile in sunglass collection but I just can’t do it 😩
I have a test. If I’d travel somewhere for 1 week, will I take it with me?
I think a smaller version of the Jacquemus would be so cute! Although tbh I would never ever buy a clutch. In fact I'm looking at it and wishing it had detachable straps.
Hey Cassie would you say that your birkin 25 is a regret? I noticed that you usually use and display the green one. I def have some luxury items that haven’t worked out but instead of regretting I take it as a learning experience and sell it to someone who will love it more 😁
Any suggestions as to how to be assured shoes won’t hurt without having to wear them first and suffer blisters???
Your regret lead me to an impulse buy! The jacquemus is now smaller?! Yes please! Although the silver is 😍
You could use a shoe stretcher to break them in
YSL shoes in general are so uncomfortable. My Rimowa luggage set is going strong for over 10 years and I hope nothing ever happens to it because they don’t make the colour I have anymore.
Omg Cassie Monday post and I'm early for it 🎉
🥳🥳
Your silver Jaquemues bag is my Roman Empire. If you ever decide to part with her I would LOVE to offer her a home. 🙏
I bought a snake skin Bulgari bag last year right before getting offered my first Birkin. Haven’t touched it since getting it 😏
In the western states, those boots would be called Ropers. Good for working outside good for working around the barn not designed for pavement
Cassie, I love that bag soooo much I am trying to get one but it’s not available on the web site. Love the silver a lot.
I much prefer tumi for luggage. Been using them for years and years!
