IDK if it’s regrets, actually, but I buy items I love for a life I don’t have. I live in an open air house , on the Pacific Ocean, in the tropics. I can watch mold grow on my designer bags and shoes. I wear rubber chanclas. My feet don’t like closed toe shoes. In my surfing lifestyle, not a single friend would have known a designer other than a surf brand, or cared. I found UA-cam during COVID when our beaches were closed, and your channel was the first I ever subscribed to. I have really enjoyed watching you and so happy to see so many others feel the same. Most of my ‘regrets’ are the buys that epitomise a fantasy life style I daydream about but will never live, or only very occasionally. Those items are almost like a cosplaying kit 😂 but hey, they do make me feel special!
Practicalities of my life could probably be served by 70% ‘athleisure and running errands’ wear but my wardrobe is only about 40% that kind of stuff?! Still I would find it hard to part with my ‘maybe once or twice a year’ beautiful and special items. When challenged about that I always say “I like my money where I can see it - in my wardrobe.” 😎

I love my life and have never been happier even though I fantasise about possible versions of my life I’ll never live. Fashion allows me to adopt parts of myself that would otherwise not be expressed, it’s a medium of self-revelation, not a costume, not a defiance or a finger to the world, rather it’s a metamorphosis and joy. It soothes my yearning, not my hunger.
THANK YOU so much Cassie for the Rimowa mention! I was very close to buying new luggage from them! However, the reviews and price increases made me very hesitant! Thanks for the alternatives as well! Will definitely look into the other options, cause paying 1000+$ for poor quality but good customer service is not cute 😂😅

My mom still has her tumi suitcases from 20-30 years ago. Those things last!

How are they with repairs and replacements? I’m finding these days that even my most formally reliable suitcases are getting broken and battered to hell because the airport is just throwing everything around so carelessly, so I don’t even know if I feel comfortable buying any bag I know is going underneath the plane without the most robust repair and replacement options
That was when the quality was better. Just like everything else- nothing is made like it once was.

As for luggage, I should be in the luggage industry since I've had so many different brands over the last five decades since a young teen traveling solo overseas. I love luggage. Luggage to me is like what shoes are to others. LOL! I still have multiple brands of luggage even now at the same time. Different luggage for different trip situations.
I've used different brands of luggage while traveling quite hardcore, almost annually, on every continent except Antartica. Personally, my go-to suitcases are my hard sided Tumi ones. Not one suitcase has been destroyed and my suitcases go through a lot. When I'm in S.E. Asia on extended vacations, my checked luggage goes through at least 6-8 airports over a 6-week period. I've had the Tumi V-4 hard sided suitcases for a decade now on trips where I've been in both Asia and Europe within the same year along with trips here within the U.S.
I have 2-3 large Tumi suitcases and 2 of the carry-on size, one in the V-4 international size and one in the non-international size, a bit bigger and good on U.S. and some other flights.
As for the Tumi V-4, I don't think that particular model is still made, but I've seen it online through discount places and one can usually get a new large suitcase for under $500. When it comes to luggage, what's important to me is that it isn't destroyed in transit. I could care less about scratches and possibly a few dents. It's luggage and the airlines are rough.
In 2019, when my best friend and I got back to L.A. from a trip to NoLa, her suitcase was the last one to come down the chute to the carousel at LAX. It was also a hardsided suitcase, but not Tumi. Her suitcase was totally destroyed. We'd never seen anything like it before. She had a bottle of liquor inside which was very securely wrapped, but broke and spilled all over her clothes. We stood in a line at the airline office for her to fill out a claim. And then we had to put that mangled alcohol-soaked smelly suitcase into my car.
My other suitcases are my LV Bisten hard sided ones which are great except there are no wheels. I bought both suitcases in Europe in the 1980s a few years apart and traveled all over Europe and also here in the U.S. with them. I also took one of them to New Zealand and Australia. I had brown canvas custom made covers made at my luggage maker's small shop here and with a two-way industrial zipper system which can be locked with a TSA lock at the zipper tabs. I never needed to lock the actual suitcases which really came in handy when TSA locks were suddenly required in the 2000s.

I have an idea for you. What if you bring the silver bag to a cobbler and have him add d rings to the bag and you can add a shoulder or crossbody strap. I just did that to 2 top handle bags I had and now they are in heavy rotation again.
The hair snatching is exactly why I can't wear rear button tops. I've gotten so tangled my husband had to cut my hair and the button to release me from the blouse. *Adds zippers to "The F*ck You'll Buy It list"*
My meh purchase is still from YEARS ago. The Antigona in the old medium size. It's heavy to begin with and then adding all my worldly possesions makes me need physical therapy of my upper extremities. Then THE TEETH of that zipper.... trying to get your worldly possessions in and out will get your knuckles sliced and diced. It's a bloodthirsty bag....and is a third cousin of Audrey from Little Shop of Horrors. Feed me Seymour. Fffs. Don't know why I still have it except I like the classic look. *Adds bandaids to Instacart*

The strap on the gucci tote made me cackle 🤣 Cltches typically do have feet, but for the size & width of the base, it definitely could use them. The visual i got of that zipper mangling hair is catastrophic 😵

I obsessed over a YSL bag from 2017 that I was finally able to get (secondhand) in 2022 - 5 years of longing! $900 spent! Only for me to realize, after a month or so of gazing at it adoringly, that upon wearing it was so FREAKING heavy even when empty that it was next to impossible to wear when full. Especially given all the crap I simply must have on me at all times. Cut to 2 years of feeling angsty about it and having only worn it like 3 times, I finally cut my losses and gave it to my sister as a gift because she’s in love with it and consistently has only phone/cardholder/keys in her bag at any time so she doesn’t mind the heft.
Off the gate you start with my favorite bag! 😮 love the bag and size. The bag was never going to meet your TBE aesthetic. Looking to add the python print to my collection. 😊 I’m with you on not wearing painful shoes! Makes no sense to pay money to be in pain! Great video! TFS 😊❤

I so felt you on the Chanel boots, 🤣 the disappointment you feel when you just bought something only to realize that it’s not working for you. And I know exactly what you mean with the slippery feeling and the lack of cushioning in the boots.
My regret was the Hermes Chypre. I was super excited, took them out the box and wore them immediately. Only to discover halfway to my coffee shop that there’s a reason I never bought slides before. So uncomfortable and they don’t stay on my feet. After only 5 mins, I hobbled into my coffee shop and had to call the hubby to bring me a pair of shoes. 😢And I couldn’t return them because I wore them outside. 🤦🏾♀️

I had those chanel boots in tan and they were a disaster, so uncomfortable, had to get rid.
I bought an Anine Bing black leather shoulder bag, but within months of use, the lock broke. I went and had it fixed for $150 (Which is a lot considering the bag was around $600). Within a month the lock had broken again. Now I am stuck with a beautiful bag that I can use or sell.

SO glad I’m not the only one who felt iffy about the Jacquemus clutch. I was able to order one during one of the restocks and I couldn’t get over how big it was. The magnet was also faulty so it never stayed closed, which annoyed me so much. I returned it and haven’t regretted it since, and I got the mini Fendi crystal baguette instead. If they brought out the silver in the smaller size though, I might have to repurchase lol 👀😂

I love Tumi! I traveled with it few times and no problems. I couldn’t get Rimowa hype so decided to go with Tumi. I got a cover, but they lost it at Heathrow as I expanded it and stuffed to the brim the cover didn’t close at the bottom so I will have to rebuy it as they do protect the suitcase and keep it tight and safe.
Ahhh, Cassie, I can feel your pain. I have two pairs of Church (very hard) leather loafers that REFUSE to break in. They are beautiful though.😔

For me, nothing ruins a nice bag more than it being heavy. I've had so many. LV, Gucci, even Lagerfeld, that I loved but the minute I have them filled and they are heavy and cumbersome, I let em go. In some cases, never bought bags from that designer again. Same with shoes/boots. can't do heavy.

The irony that my most uncomfortable shoes are also ysl… the jimmy 20 sandals. The leather never really broke in or softened. If I walked in them for more than 20 minutes they made my feet bleed where the leather rubbed and it hurt so bad 😣. Still have them but on the rare occasion they’re worn, I now use band aids. I have learned my lesson with Chanel shoes in general. Many of them are very hard and uncomfortable. The time it takes to break them in "IF" you can stand it is more than I can deal with. I have stopped buying new Chanel footwear. My new motto is the best Chanel shoe is one that someone else has already suffered through and even with that I am extremely careful. I understand the Gucci tote, that is how I felt about the ONTHEGO in GM tote. I wanted it so band then quickly found out I made a mistake. Tumi is very reliable.
I just bought the smaller version of that silver clutch. It’s sitting in my home office still in the delivery box waiting to be opened. I would never use the larger version either. I have multiple large designer clutches I never use. Lesson has been learned.
I think a smaller version of the Jacquemus would be so cute! Although tbh I would never ever buy a clutch. In fact I'm looking at it and wishing it had detachable straps.
1)Hermes Oran slippers they no grip on the bottom and ended up having a few bad falls 2)Moschino 2-1 sunglasses (the one you can flip up and has your power glass under it )
These YSL have the heels at the end of the heel, they'd be more comfy if they were centered.
On the suitcases, I gasped! I was just thinking about my Samsonite that is about 15 years old and still holding up amazingly (in fabric, not the fanciest looking but roomy and sturdy!) 100% recommend

My blue YSL envolope bag. Its beautiful but the type of blue doesnt go with anything. Plus, i like a structured bag but this is like a box!

for luggage have a soft spot for antler but the price has definitely gone up (I mean they were never cheap), the quality is definitely impeccable for the one I have and its quite hard to find a sturdy fabric one

I love love the Gucci tote, but they really missed the mark with the single shoulder strap. A bag that size absolutely needs two. It reminds me of my LV On-the-Go Tote which I love. If only it had the double strap - because its a gorgeous bag!
My Louis Vuitton Vernis Spring Street. Absolutely had to have it. Never wear it.
Chanel Tweed Cork Cord Sandals. Never worn then at all.
You can purchase a stick on grip thingy for the bottom of your Chanel boots. Take all of the problem shoes to your local cobbler and they have a remedy for each.
I did the grip thankfully! But I think I’ll go back for the heat moulding!
