I think it was Rumi who wrote about being drunk and in ecstasy and also about human love. I don’t think someone needs to not partake of what is here in this world to be someone who can teach and who looks towards the light himself to guide him also. After all, we are all just human beings and even Jesus was a human being who would get angry and throw things around. I think we hold our teachers up too high on a pedestal sometimes. To be here on this planet is to be human. And also to be able to enjoy what is here to enjoy. In his case he continues to travel and advocate for inner peace. I feel that he is doing great work and even saving some people’s lives. He saved this one in the early seventies and I am still around and would not have had the sweet life I have had without his gift of the techniques of meditation thatI have been practicing all my life. It gives me an anchor, a stability and an experience of inner peace that gives my life meaning and keeps me sane in an insane world.
