I use a qtip as well!! But I am just a beginner, I mean a new born!!! I’m not going to give up though. I’m realizing how very important it is to use the right combination of things as well as the knowledge to use them! I am so happy to have discovered you, you are very similar to my style and the way I work so I’m so thankful to learn from you!! Can I ask what kind of flux do you use and what brand maybe?? I feel like the brand I’m using is just leaving my piece sticky no matter how much I clean it!! I’ve never tried glass cleaner though, only rubbing alcohol so maybe that will help!! Thank you so much!! 🙏🙏⛄️

@@ChristyieWaffleberry the flux I use is Glastar flux, what I understand it that the building burned to the ground with no expectations to rebuild ( I say that with a real sad heart!) try ruby red flux or any liquid flux you can by off a glass company.
I'm not a fan of paste wax, it is usually used on copper plumbing pieces with a flame. Just try different flux until you find one that doesn't smoke a lot when soldering. Let me know what one you settle for. Check out the reviews. 😉

@ oooh that is sad! But you’re wonderful thank you so much for answering. so far, I agree with you on the pastes that I have tried, just don’t like them at all and the one I’m using now is a liquid, but it definitely does smoke a lot. I will do what you suggested, thank you so so so much! 🙏🥰

@@sislertx no you can use straight copper as long as it's solid copper.
