Naalala ko tuloy yung kapit bahay ko. Nagsisigaw ba naman na nawawala daw yung manok nya. Nakita daw nya na nagalalakad sa backyard namin sa bandang hapon at yun na daw ang last time na nakita nya yung manok. Mantakin mo ba naman na 4' o'clock ng madaling araw kinabukasan ay nagwawala na at nagsisigaw na parang sinisisi pa nya kami sa pagkawala ng manok nya. Nagising tuloy yun lolo ko at tinanong ako kung bakit ang ingay ng kapit bahay. Sinabi ko na lang sa lolo ko na matulog na ulit. Mga 1 hour din na nagsisigaw yung neighbor namin bago tumigil. Hay naku nga naman. Ewan ko ba kung bakit sobrang galit nya. Ni hindi naman masarap yung manok nya. Ang kunat pa kamo.

After watching Jane's interviews and seeing a glimpse of her life before Darna, I know now what ABS-CBN saw in her that made her fit the role of the superheroine. She has such a sweet and innocent demeanor about her. The way she smiles and giggles before answering or relating a hard story shows that while she knows she is vulnerable, she can still compose herself before answering to ward off the tears and emotions. Ayan ang tunay na nkaexperience ng hirap pero down to earth, at tlagang nkkarelate kame sau ms. Jane. Yung tipong wlang maulam bxta kht may kanin Lang, solve na ang nagugutom na sikmura, at yung last money mo na meron ka pero pinambayad na lang sa mga bayarin dhl need ng bayaran. Taz yung small saving pinang apply sa work at itaya sa small business na bka sakale dito tayo aahon kht papano. Very sad kung maaalala mo yung ganitong klase ng buhay taz naisurvive kht papano dhl sa pagsisikap at panalangin sa ating diyos. Thank you @Karen Davila for this poignant interview. Jane’s story is almost a mirror image of my own in rural Philippines, the only difference was that my family started from NOTHING. However, I’ve met many mentors and gurus who always said: “From nothing, you can create something.” Forget the past, don’t worry about the future, and always live in the moment. I've learned to forgive those who used to bash me because I know that even the Lord would do the same. Proud, yes but not boastful. Who would have thought that people like Jane could rise from the ashes and live in abundance. When I was in high school, I walked 6 kms. to and from school daily (most of the time with an empty stomach). I used my head and got selected for enlistment in the U.S. Navy and made a career out of it. My wife and I raised four wonderful children who are now career professionals (earning more than I ever did).

If you truly put your heart and mind on something, only yourself would be the hindrance from achieving anything. I served for 26 years of active duty (2of of those years in Japan, including 5 years as an Intelligence Officer at U.S. Embassy in Tokyo). For the past 7 years, I've been doing a lot of volunteer work, giving back to the community that embraced and changed my life because I believe in the saying that what you give out to others would return to you in many more times imaginable. I just released my book (not about myself, but about what I do to help other people overcome their challenges in life) on Amazon, and working on the next one.

Naalala ko tuloy yung kapit bahay ko. Nagsisigaw ba naman na nawawala daw yung manok nya. Nakita daw nya na nagalalakad sa backyard namin sa bandang hapon at yun na daw ang last time na nakita nya yung manok. Mantakin mo ba naman na 4' o'clock ng madaling araw kinabukasan ay nagwawala na at nagsisigaw na parang sinisisi pa nya kami sa pagkawala ng manok nya. Nagising tuloy yun lolo ko at tinanong ako kung bakit ang ingay ng kapit bahay. Sinabi ko na lang sa lolo ko na matulog na ulit. Mga 1 hour din na nagsisigaw yung neighbor namin bago tumigil. Hay naku nga naman. Ewan ko ba kung bakit sobrang galit nya. Ni hindi naman masarap yung manok nya. Ang kunat pa kamo.

She has such a sweet and innocent demeanor about her. The way she smiles and giggles before answering or relating a hard story shows that while she knows she is vulnerable, she can still compose herself before answering to ward off the tears and emotions. Thank you @Karen Davila for this poignant interview. Jane’s story is almost a mirror image of my own in rural Philippines, the only difference was that my family started from NOTHING. However, I’ve met many mentors and gurus who always said: “From nothing, you can create something.” Forget the past, don’t worry about the future, and always live in the moment. I've learned to forgive those who used to bash me because I know that even the Lord would do the same. Proud, yes but not boastful.
Who would have thought that people like Jane could rise from the ashes and live in abundance. When I was in high school, I walked 6 kms. to and from school daily (most of the time with an empty stomach). I used my head and got selected for enlistment in the U.S. Navy and made a career out of it. My wife and I raised four wonderful children who are now career professionals (earning more than I ever did).

@@ConTV14 Hindi naman sa pagyayabang, pero I was the only high school graduate in my group who left Subic Naval Base in 1976, but Iwent from the lowest rank to becoming a naval officer. If you truly put your heart and mind on something, only yourself would be the hindrance from achieving anything. I served for 26 years of active duty (2of of those years in Japan, including 5 years as an Intelligence Officer at U.S. Embassy in Tokyo). For the past 7 years, I've been doing a lot of volunteer work, giving back to the community that embraced and changed my life because I believe in the saying that what you give out to others would return to you in many more times imaginable. I just released my book (not about myself, but about what I do to help other people overcome their challenges in life) on Amazon, and working on the next one.
