If you’re listening to the BiggerPockets podcast, you know that the only way to reach financial success is to climb the corporate ladder, right? Nope! Yet, many people still believe that the only way for them to get rich is by going above and beyond for a job, only to be let go when the company is sold or merged. This is exactly what Ayoka Moss and Robert Charles thought, until they were put in a situation where entrepreneurialism and real estate was the only option.
Ayoka had serious drive, especially after reading Rich Dad Poor Dad (a favorite of the BP community). Robert, on the other hand, was working as hard as he could, selling cars, breaking sales records, but once he was let go due to his company being bought out, he had open ears for Ayoka’s proposal. Ayoka and Robert decided to start wholesaling real estate, and had 6 failed deals before they finally found themselves making a profit. Once the money came in, they knew they had to do whatever it takes to reach success in real estate.
Now, only a couple years later, Ayoka and Robert are living rent free, with 20 units, and 35 deals done! That’s some serious change when compared to their old W2 lifestyles. Ayoka and Robert go through how they got deals done, found mentors, and most importantly, changed mindsets to tackle what really matters.

I've watched dozens of BP podcasts shows, all awesome, dynamic people with positive energy and valuable information. THIS interview has made an impact like a meteor in my life. Throughout the entire interview I felt like you guys were speaking directly to me, addressing fear and inaction. Rob and Ayoka, showed the true definition of grit and eliminating any excuses and self limiting beliefs which is hard to do. It’s sometimes is very hard to see what is not there and immediately happening. They have a powerful story and thank them both for their transparency. I know they will continue to be successful and conquer.

Great story about life and perseverance. I love your story. This is why it's frustrating when people want things for free without the work. When I started flipping homes people were definitely treating me differently and talking about me behind my back and I thought I did something wrong. I realized I needed new or different friends and mentors.
This podcast is so life-changing. Your route is the route I'm seeking. I have been trying to do this for six years and got sidelined by a stroke. Later, I started suffering from a bulging disk in my back that left me with a cane. But, I have not stopped dreaming and pursuing my goals! I will begin the process again and start in the morning. Thank you.

These are the stories people would like to hear! Everyday people that worked super hard to make it! Unlike the privileged 20 year old that is really successful but they come from generational wealth and their mommy and daddy helped them immensely!!

I also love the transparency. I have seen so many podcast, and You tube videos but seeing a young couple, that are real, not trying to sell something. You are talking about being scared.... omg to leave a "secure" job at 51 to pursue full time Entrepreneurship, whew!!! I'm ready though.

@Rob The same intensity you had when working at the dealership has not gone to waste , good job guys!
Personal notes:
- they learned all the zip codes and filtered them into A,B,C classes
- they would talk to everyone to try and help them find properties ( random people, fedex, Amazon prime drivers)
- wholesaling is what they like cus it’s simple.
They find problem property’s where people don’t know what to do and they get them to flippers or house buyers. Research into the legal way to do this
