The old OG ball was more about the love of the sport. This generation is more about the flash, popularity, and money. Both had positives/negatives, but OG basketball from 90s-2010 was golden shit.
It has always been about flash, popularity and money but the biggest difference is there was no social media or smartphones during the older eras.
@@maartenvz Exactly
Also the 80's was great basketball!❤
It is about how many followers a player has now compared to older players looking forward to on court achievements more.
@@maartenvzThats the sole reason Jordan is looked at the way he is. He literally made basketball look cool. His shoes, gold chains on during dunk contests, tounge out while doing flashy moves never seen before. That was exactly the start of basketball becoming damn near apart of Hip hop lol. Smh
Love this talk about camaraderie being a big factor in winning championships. The Last Dance taught me that Phil Jackson grew the camaraderie in the Bulls locker room through his mindfulness sessions, before they began winning championships. In all the interviews I've seen from Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, and how the teammates celebrated Jokic winning his 3rd MVP this year, you can tell they have more camaraderie than most teams in the league.
The phones to me are one of the worst things that have happened. I call my daughter she don’t answer then she’ll text me back and asked if I called. Nobody wants to talk it’s all text. Advertising and to much information to fast. Back in the day you didn’t have so many tv channels ESPN nothing. I know it’s a different generation but I remember when you had to read the newspaper the next day for the score. To much bling. Even rap music is way different from the 80’s and 90’s. I miss run DMC LL cool j KC and Jo Jo. We need more love and church. Great show y’all peace.
Rasheed Wallace is Kobe Bryant nemesis... In a good way he beat Kobe in a finals he took Kobe to a game 7... 3 different times. He deserve to be in the Hall of Fame just on the amazing NBA stories involving him
Isnt it only twice? Portland in 2000 and Boston in 2010?
Sheed might not ever make it to the HOF, but he’s a HOFer in the public opinion of any hoops fan who watched in the 00s. He wasn’t necessarily a star but he was a standout amongst hoops fans, some guys never get that love & respect from the consumer base. Tatum is a perfect example, 20 or so years from now he’ll get his HOF nod but the fans who are watching him now will say he was soft. Then you have the opposite in guys like T-Mac, never had that level of team success in the league but the ppl who grew up watching him play hold him in the highest regard because he earned that respect as a hooper.

This new generation of NBA players doesn't understand what it means to go through the wall for the ball
Can you blame them? It’s a business decision to preserve their career. Contextually, you would do the same in your line of work to keep the large checks coming in.
Old gen would ball new gen up
The beautiful thing about basketball is the passing of the torch! The new generation learned from legends like Kobe, who played alongside and mentored players like LeBron, who's now carrying on that legacy. It's amazing to see how the game evolves, and yet, the fundamentals remain the same. Now, with the focus on the three-ball, it's exciting to see how players will continue to adapt and push the limits of what's possible on the court! The future of basketball is bright #RespectTheGame #BasketballEvolution
How u gone tell me i can’t do a Eurostep . We gone have to fight 😂
Fight Sheed? I don’t think that’s what you want. He had a clean right hand on those courts. 😂
@@chijaytavaakachija1513 mf I’m from Alabama I ain’t scared of nobody but God 😂. Yall be to scared I know yall use to get bullied . Ben Wallace come from where we come from
@@Los334_ broly, I dont care where you came from, as long as you not from Wakanda, Asgard, or Krypton and Alabama isnt any of them. 🤣
@@chijaytavaakachija1513 ain’t no grown man telling me what I’m not going to do
@@Los334_ I think i did Alabama. And dont do that ‘where Im from’ thing. NY niggas been saying this in getting Knocked out right after saying they from the NY. Being born on certain dirt don’t make you Wallace. Sit down lil girl. 😑
i love your videos, right on guys.
It starts in middle school. Wimming doesnt matter. Coaches dont reward winning plays. Colleges dont scout winning players. Social media rarely even posts the score. Whoever scores the most points gets the shine.
Given that, i would hate my teammates. Why hang with somebody getting more shots and shine than you are.
It wasnt that different back in the days, its just that social media is enlarging certain areas. Just for fun read Showtime to see what the 80s were like.
Great take on how distracting a smartphone is and you see this in every layer of society. This distraction is almost pandemic. Also i read a lot of replies about this generation vs the older generation. Shall we talk about shawn Kemp and vin Baker before we start glazing the 90s/00s?
Shawn kemp and vin baker? lol.
I’ll take the bait, go on. Expand on this.
Anyone know where they film this show?
Athleticism, hands down. When you compare pre-2k to post-2k, there is a noticeable difference in athleticism. It’s higher today. Yes, there was Jordan, Drexler, Nique, etc. but there has been more of that post-2k.
Watching pre-2k is like watching basketball from the 60s and 70s. The players were fundamentally sound. It almost looks unorthodox compared to now. The style of play is “sexier” now.
PDX ❤ Sheed
I think dirk is 7 . 1
Why no euro step tho sheed?😂
Guys had to get jobs in the off season back in the day
Yes…played because they actually loved da game.
that was in the 70s. nobody had to do it in the 80s
It's sad you don't have to win in todays game to get paid you're stats just need to make the analytics look good
That’s how jobs work, isn’t it? Your production determines your pay.
New Generation is To Frendly
Nova Knicks
The simplicity and integrity within people have changed for the worst. The mindsets of how egotistical and selfish people are today is pretty dam gross. Plus, people today have gained a sense of “faking it” to gain attention and relevance. I know really close friends that will say and act it out to fit in with certain people. But when it’s time to actually show and prove what they said, they have zero clue what the f@ck is going on. Hilarious and pathetic all at once. Truly a weird time to be alive. The world is full of fake people……
These kids are soft smh
Tired of generational conversations. First yall claimed they were too friendly now they not friendly enough. Kobe and Shaq HATED each other now we claiming they were buddies. Too much talk about back in the day .
Forget the dress code..players today are soft and weak…they can barely beat Sudan…..forget the dress….get some game….yeah euro what? Eurostep license to take five steps? Players back then would dunk from half court ….
Allen Iverson was part of the reason the dress code was put in place. The dress came into effect during Iversons prine. This dude don't know what he's talking about. Today's high fashion style is actually here because of the dress code, not Iverson. When the players were forced to wear suites they realized they could get away with wearing high fashion suites and they kept pushing and pushing the dress code hence why they wear all the designer stuff now. You can thank Stern for that, not Iverson lol.
Iverson was the catalyst . Not only from a fashion standpoint but for a player expressing themselves. The cornrows, the tattoos , jewelry, overall swag..he was the blueprint .
