I've not done a lot of work on AVS, but its fundamentally the same software stack and process as Google GCVE. I have some free training courses for it on Udemy.
For this one I used an iPad into OBS via HDMI adapters, and used the “green screen” or “chroma key” functionality on the scene with the iPad. EposVox has some good tutorials on OBS
can very hightly recommned the Dell T3610 or T5610. Until recently I had 5 of them in my home lab running vSphere 7 update 2. not on the official hardware compatability list for production support, but fine for learning
The name of the VM can be the same at source and destination. It’s common for the old vm to be shutdown and renamed so that it’s powered-off but obvious to anyone looking at it that it’s the old/original source VM
