@@layersoflaurel you are very welcome. This is another video of how I take care of my garden to turn it into a big blooming summer garden. And I am making another indigo planting too. (Transplant) ua-cam.com/video/qdJ9kZN78Ms/v-deo.html
Great video! Thanks for all the tips! I really like how you showed the plant with different amounts of sun exposure and through the whole growing season. Looking forward to learning more from you - subscribing now! :)
Thank you. Here is another video where I show you what my indigo seedlings are turning into and a walk though my garden. ua-cam.com/video/qdJ9kZN78Ms/v-deo.html
Thanks for your video! I bought a house with this plant in the front and I was looking for advice on what I needed to do early spring . One question on deadheading/removing the seed pods, do you know what time of year you typically do that, is it late summer?
My problem with false indigo is that it gets to be a big brute in my yard 🙄. Thinking of putting in a pot on patio . Then pushing the pot into shade for rest of season after bloom .
Hi Cathy, it's a beautiful shrub that moves to the wind. I have two videos below to show how it gets a little taller and then flops down a little in the summer. The green is bold and beautiful. ua-cam.com/video/8reXXD4ilc4/v-deo.html
I keep my garden organic with a variety of plants. When I first planted I added a lot of compost. I do a little layer of organic mulch too. Don't let water retain around your indigo.
This is the best detailed video of a plant that I have seen on UA-cam. Thank you so much for sharing!!
You are very welcome. I am so glad I can help you. I love the indigo plant.
@@GreenBeeExplorer Yes, you certainly did! I am now going to order two of them thanks to your very informative video. Keep up the great work! :)

Wow the bush looks great against the white fence. What hardiness zone are you in?
A 5 or 6 zone. Winter is unpredictable.
Great video!

Collect the seeds when the pods are black and crumble in your hand. This starts end of summer and fall.
Beautiful
Thank you
@@GreenBeeExplorer your welcome
Thanks for sharing. I have a dozen seedlings and wondering if one seedling grows into a huge clump. Or do you plant several together?
It's best to plant them separately. They double their stems each year.
@@GreenBeeExplorer thanks
Is this the straight specie? Baptisia australis?

I love that it keeps out weeds
Lovely. So what did you do with your seed pods? Anything?
At the moment I throw them into my garden and let nature plant them. I get about 5-10 new plants a year.
I've read that it is a butterfly host plant for more than a half dozen butterfly species. Do you get many caterpillars?
I have not looked closely. Now you have me curious.
Why did leaves turn leaves turn silvery gray after blooming?
Thanks for info!! ❤️
You are very welcome 😊
I just bought 4!! So do they come up every year?
Every year and will double in sizes

So, to clarify: this is a spring-blooming plant? How does it look after bloom is finished? Does it stay green and nice looking? Ty
