This was my first major TiDi fight experience since first starting EVE all the way back in 2012. I was a part of the group that bridges in at 6:37 (you can even see my name -- I've made it to UA-cam!) and we were very eager to join the fun by that point.
Glad someone managed to record the F4R battle so I can watch how everything unfolded without the TiDi

they brought knifes (bcruisers) to a gun (battleship) fight... they got the cyno jammer, another was placed immediately. I was on both fights on both jammers and then our FC Leeroy'd onto their fort.
Nice to see it from another perspective, i had my combat tab on overview and thus didn't see friendlies anywhere xD

70% of fleet wasnt on place cause we thought they whud run away anywany well if the jammer got destroyed they will keep will fall like nothing since we will take it seriousli this time...
Imagine wining against 30% of fleet and braging about it..... what a looseers

@@TheGUARDIANOFFOR Not bragging about anything, i just pointed out the flaw in the goonies' aproach to the fight. Also bringing only 30%? You just admitted to another fail in approach to a fight.
Last but not least, seen enough bragging and boasting from the group that clad themselves in wasp costumes, don't dish out if you then thereafter call someone else a loser. For example, i was in the exact same system the first time the keepstar was put on a timer and never have seen in my short game career in EVE such a list of boasts, insults and bragging. One of them said it was sure we'd lose the keepstar really soon thereafter. Didn't happen, goonies didn't show for the timer. And now you're telling me that the 2nd time around, 70% of your fleet was too scared?

Yeah i need to find a way to afford my accounts again and get back into Panfam somewhere and put my ships to good use, but it's unlikely atm.
At least some GF's on both sides nice 👍

not entirely sure of what i just watched as i don't play eve. this was just a bunch of dots floating around. i get it that each dot is a ship but not very exciting footage at this distance.

That's EVE, but it's not just that. It's also that this type of video is typically minimal effort stuff made to document or reference the event for players with special interest and/or contextual knowledge. It's not meant to be entertaining to the uninitiated (or sometimes even the participants, cynically speaking). The meaning is implied and lies in the political and strategical/tactical struggles between the various EVE power blocks. Only when you care about _that_ does this become remotely interesting.

Yes, these are not for new players to watch really as it wouldn't mean much.
A cover a few basics for the uninitiated - as you can see the video is also sped up as some of these fights last many hours!
To even see/record what's going on you have to be there in a system on one side or another or in a covert cloaked ship acting like a secret cameraman
      -The colours are
      - red's are enemy to the person recording/view we see from
      - Each coloured dot is a player in a ship doing a role/target
      - Purples are ships are ones in the fleet of the recorder
      - Blue's are friendlies, either another fleets, corps or alliances that are blue & multiple fleets of 250 can be on grid at same time
-Ships mostly fire either lasers, missiles, kinetic or projectile weapons
(These colours if you're on the other side would be the same but ships flipped i.e. enemies always red etc)
      - The big grey bubbles are mostly "Warp bubbles/Drag bubbles (mostly dropped from interdictor ships, but also can be a small unit dropped to place a fixed bubble (they can be destroyed or time out)
      - these stop nearly all ships being able to 'warp' away (therefore used as tactical bubbles by both sides to drag ships to where they want them or fix them in place) - they can move their ship with engines but not 'warp' away until out of bubble & only a few select ships/fits can avoid this
      - Many of the exploding centric circles and effects are ship - AOEs' s (area effects weapons') of which there are many different types, like armour boosters, shield boosts capacitor recharging, range effects, but basically on grid AOE some mostly meant for your own side and others maybe meant to effect enemies
In addition, many ships may or will be in a logistics role or EWAR role (if not DPS) i.e. they may be repairing or boosting friendlies themselves or be offensive EWAR with jamming etc
      - The big building in some views with two towers is a 'Keepstar' which is the biggest player-owned structure that can be built & placed they act as staging bases for alliances allowing the largest ships on down to use and form operations from
      - The structures (and nearly all of different sizes) have shields, armour & hull and have timers for them when attacked or depleted (that's a whole subject on its own) but when the hull of a station is killed then the whole thing blows up!
      - One side is attacking - The other defending (made up of made players, corporations and Alliances)
      - There are other structures in the system of importance to be defended or attacked - depending on your side, like System Jammers (they stop the largest capitals jumping into system), Territory Control Units (basically a flag/stake that claims a system as yours - allowing the placement of other structures like the Keepstar, Alliance own Jump Gates, Infrastructure buildings & others can be in the systems in null sec
On top of that each system with have the game-controlled jump gates that ships use to travel from system to system with. They often in a fight are heavily camped by one side or another and dying is likely there unless in a big group.
The boxes on the right are columns of filters set to show certain enemies or ship types to make targeting easier - You will see tabs with the filter names at the top (they are red as in a large battle you have a filter that excludes all friendly's these tabs and settings are often set and managed by the large alliances for ease of identification.
The fast-moving ships over large distances are them warping about - as a player you can not warp really to a spot in space (unless bookmarked) - You can only warp to a structure or a friendly fleet member) so sometimes you see a mass warping on top of the enemy/structure to attack or warping away to escape & flee.
The flatter long building structure is another played-owned citadel - a Fortizar the 2nd largest played owned citadel.
There are lots more nuances or details I cannot cover (it's already longer than I planned lol).
But anyhow anyone new or newish can use the information to help consume the video if they should wish.

@@Lone_GamerUK I think you just upgraded the thing from minimal to _some_ effort :D
I actually have a question myself. Those large spheres that sometimes show with some kind of symbols in them that dissipate immediately, I think those are command bursts?

    • @Lone_GamerUK
      @Lone_GamerUK 6 місяців тому +1

@@QualeQualeson correct command bursts are an AOE - there are shield ones, armour and all sorts they are more colourful ones with different effects in blue & red the larger static grey ones are the bubbles.
I happy if my effort helps anyone. Eve is like a sport if you don't understand the rules & positions of teams then it doesn't make a lot of sense or mean as much.
In fact most videos on YT cannot capture the real EvE Online as most are about fittings, markets and making money - all important indeed.
But the real eve is in the epic wars, battles and politics history of stories & events. I recommend anyone read, listen to the Empires of Eve books by Andrew Groen. ❤
