    15 hours, thats awesome! Also, I have to thank you for making this stuff easy for anyone to understand.. As someone who wants to get into linux and raspberry pi stuff, this is greatly appreciated.

    add a third sdr dongle for voice scanning the air band so you can have the air traffic running as you display the data. Just a thought. this was something I was thinking of myself for a project...

    Were the radios turned on for the test? That will def effect battery draw, I’m only suspect they were not because to the draw seemed low with the usb dingus monitor. You might try using rtl_fm tuned to a couple local stations and see if that amp draw goes up.

    • @temporarilyoffline
      @temporarilyoffline  Рік тому +1

      Yes, the radios were on for the test.

    • @tedw7193
      @tedw7193 Рік тому

      Had brain been activated they had to be on, it’s too early with no caffeine to do any simple maths, adding up ~average current draw for all 3 devices should come out around 1 amp or so. Neat project, I’ve got an adsb go box I built long ago, still running to this day

    Nice battery. Speaking QRP radios on these packs, I recently got a Bluetti EB3A. Sort of a GoBox battery but with lots of added stuff like USB-C QC3.0 (PD) charging port capable of 100W. And also wireless Qi charging for your Android or iPhone. Plus two DC ports that are rated at 10amps. Plenty of power to run a G90 or a G106 for about 4hrs. Which is fine for POTA. Maybe youd like to stay up longer. For me 4hrs is long enough. I also found a PD cable for my HP laptop so now everything runs off the Bluetti EB3A

    My guess is that you are using the 'orange' dongle for UAT on 978 MHz not ACARS on 131MHz?? ACARS is normally used for TEXT messaging between Aircraft or Aircraft to Tower.

    • @temporarilyoffline
      @temporarilyoffline  Рік тому

      I'm using the orange dongle currently to track another map in the browser. I have used it for the text messages you speak of, but haven't finished integrating it with the setup.

    It saved itself with the type C input.
    I have a decent quality and capacity power brick that it is micro input only and I absolutely hate it. Everything else I own is type C so there's always a cable nearby. Every time I need to recharge that stupid brick I have to go searching for a cable.
    I should probably save myself the trouble and replace it with this. Lol
