It was his aerial elegance, impact precision, and overall graceful & technical intricacies that makes this - seemingly simple - move one of the greatest spectacles in the history of the sport. Simply awesome!
OMFG RIGHT!!!! He had it all inside & outside the ring. Especially back then, there were not many people who absolutely excelled in every aspect the way he did. Legendary promos, legendary matches. He also had a legendary skill set & was doing shit not many people even dared to do. Nobody went to the top rope & jumped down to the arena floor, nobody hit a pile driver on the announcers table, nobody jumped over the top rope to slingshot his opponent by the throat, nobody took a back body drop over the top rope! Wow I could go on but I’ll stop. Lastly, the elbow is beyond beautiful. Hangs in the air & just glides He was my favorite for a reason!
Thank you for making my day. The body on this man. The height he would get. I was 9-14 from 86-91. I was a girl obsessed with him. He was so beautiful. Fly high off the top rope upstairs gorgeous....
Macho Man and Dynamite Kid would have been an awesome tag team. I loved the Bulldogs, but put Dynamite with Macho and let Randy do his thing when it came to promos and interviews, wow. Power and elegance together. Snap suplex and flying elbow. Oh Yeah!
That elbow drop he put on Ricky steamboat was something serious . Macho madness caught some hellafied air on that elbow drop . That's greatness right there !
I was thinking he probably hurt his knee on the one where he planted his foot, and soon thereafter Tony Schiavone is talking about the "bad knee" in the small bits of commentary you can hear.
To this day I still don't know how he did it without seriously injuring them, I mean I get there's a lot of precision involve, but the how, when, and where I do not know.
Not as much spring and more concern for the landing. I had never seen the one on Andre before, I have never seen that match, usually the ones they had ended without it. I thought it was because Andre didn't want to take the move from him. Great video!
Yeah, as the years go on, its less landing on the legs and thighs and more just drilling the guy with your body weight. 1999 Elbow drops looks awfully painful as his weight is almost on his upper body
True but I loved his WCW 1995-1998 elbow drops those were finesse picture perfect. Plus in WCW he leaned more towards the side all the way through his elbow drop while in the air. Where as the WWF he would lean towards the side at the endpoint of following through with the elbow drop. His 1999 elbow drop he wasn't able to get much hangtime because of his knees I assume and he was more muscular.
you know what i like about this video when it's slowed down when he jumps off & then people taking pics makes the video pop out as he cuts through the air & the video goes nicely with castlevania s4 trevor belmont vs death music matches up just right to it
Honestly even in his prime he didn't always have a lot of height but like clearly he pulls it off amazingly. Some drops he'll have crazy air and it looks awesome, others it's almost like he dives straight to em and it looks fucking brutal
@@doomsdaycce yes it does i think when he lands all the blow when he hits the ground is on his legs & lower body on the side but i do see higher jumps when he was younger & in the 80s but some time in the late 90s you can tell at some point the move was taking it's tole on him todo it so you just see him kind of hop of or just fall down a bit
@@castlev1986 I can see that, but even through the 90s he had some really crazy height given his age and the wear on his body that had transpired. I'm just saying that the man varied how he'd leap and it really makes great effect every time
idk why but the wwf videos look better made every time he goes in the air you see them getting ready for the best shot & the people when he does it as for the wcw ones kind of sloppy at times only gets some what better in the late 90s but even then it was kind of shitty

💯 Great words! Macho was the GOAT
That form is beautiful 😍
Magic...simply magic.

What a beautiful finisher.
Nobody can match a Randy Savage elbow drop from the top rope
That was Savage, pun intended.
It's such an un natural thing to hang in the air like that! Poetry in motion!
TY for this.. AWESOME
Macho Man and Dynamite Kid would have been an awesome tag team. I loved the Bulldogs, but put Dynamite with Macho and let Randy do his thing when it came to promos and interviews, wow. Power and elegance together. Snap suplex and flying elbow. Oh Yeah!
This is absolute gold! Thank you for this!
In the later WCW he stopped using his legs to absorb the landing.
And it made the move that much more majestic
Picture perfect every time.
That elbow drop he put on Ricky steamboat was something serious . Macho madness caught some hellafied air on that elbow drop . That's greatness right there !
The best ever
Nobody comes off the top rope better or as many times in a match than savage.
He averages about 5 times per match
Great video!
His Elbow drop should had name his finisher macho madness or hail to the king like jay lethal
Wow! Thank you! That had to take a while to do.👍 Never realized how many he did flawlessly!
Your welcome Rich, if you have a specific move request just respond to this message amd I will do it for you 👍

The height at 1:40 and 1:53. For the love of God. Humans can fly. It's the incredible flying man!

R.I.P macho man,Best elbow drop In the game then and now.Randy’s elbow drop should be on the wwe logo like the nba logo
That’s the most bad ass thing I ever heard I agree
Couldn't watch. The slow mo then back to normal on each one was driving me crazy.
Sensational!
The only finisher to revive hogan
Imagine if he really wanted to hurt you it’s over 😂
1,2,3… guaranteed victory!
I Just Wish It Were More Like Tito Santana's Launching Elbow Strike!
What a move, man! Rip 🙏 put smiles on many faces! Entertained millions. Rest well champ

4:39 THE best (on ric flair go figure)
You will notice a difference in WCW as he had completely destroyed his knees by then.

one of the best elbow drops along with Shawn micheals
Kids nowadays would be inclined to think this was photo shopped
One of the most heroic moves of all times.. Very believable unlike the people's elbow.. Lol
While I've seen other wrestlers do this move, it somehow looks meh when they do it, with the exception of Kairi sane
Hahahahahaha fuck yeah!!!
It did not look fun to take an elbow in wcw
you know what i like about this video when it's slowed down when he jumps off & then people taking pics makes the video pop out as he cuts through the air & the video goes nicely with castlevania s4 trevor belmont vs death music matches up just right to it
you can tell he jumps higher in his prim but when he gets to wcw he kind of don't jump as high but puts more in to landing
