“A lotta complaints about caring a gun”???....I can’t believe it!....Dave is in grisly country, talking in front of a camera with his back to a possible bear attack. People are absolutely idiotic!!
I think everyone should carry everywhere.
Anyone complaining about someone carrying a self defense firearm in any situation, woods or city, is a fool.
Yet, it will be considered illegal. The second amendment will soon be under attack. The United States is ripe for a coup.
There's an anti gun culture out there. These people are naive and think the police can protect them if they have a problem. All the police can do is investigate your homicide. That's just the cold, hard truth. And being out in the forest or rural areas where help is hours away, it's just stupid not to arm yourself.

My question is "What does the U.S. Department of Forestry Service know?" There is a huge piece missing and they have it!
They sure are making themselves look guilty of something. I suppose it could be as simple as worrying that Dave is scaring people from coming and spending their money... I doubt that though. It is extremely odd that you’re not allowed to film anything without a permit as well... it’s public land we paid for... That is suspect.

He's been denied for no good reason (and before ever even thinking about applying), and I'm curious to see if they would do the same to a private citizen. Probably not, but still I would be curious if it's because he's creating media that would be distributed to a large audience vs some private nature lover filming some birds or making a small documentary or something. The thing is, if that really bothered them, they should be letting him film because their denials just make it more suspicious and build this up until a conspiracy theory of sorts is born.

That's totally odd, I do freelance wildlife filming all the time in that backwoods country and I have never been asked about any permit to do so. If they did ask, I would tell them where they could shove it.
That THEY refuse him a permit only draws more attention to a conspiracy to conceal. Frankly, does anyone believe that they are smart but now I want to know the real reason my interest is sooo peaking now! Hiking (minimally) as pairs makes so much sense and good idea sharing the beacon. If people follow those guidelines no guarantee but answers will eventually bubble up to the surface. The marathon doctor/runner story creeps me out. I am 58 years old now & stay urban but at age 15 I hiked a lot. on trips as far as advanced camping so on a 100 mile mountain hike at Philmont near Cimmaron, NM in a valley by the river at dusk after fly fishing class my group of 20 settled in. (I am empathic)& had a feeling I (or we) were being stalked/hunted by something. An anxiety attack which I have never had before or since; I was uncontrollably shaking, inconsolable frozen in fear, and felt we were all in danger. The adult leaders gathered round finally after an hour settled me down, but my eyes transfixed on SOMETHING across the river in the deep woods. I never left the side of at least 3 people all night no incidents after for remaining 50 miles and I have never wrote about this before. I never gave it thought till seeing the connect dots you do but don’t think anyone else did. Both Fascinating & disturbing

Also, I saw someone else post this on a different video last night: when hiking into the woods, periodically stop and turn around to make sure nobody is tracking you and also to see the landscape and landmarks from the opposite direction so you know what it should look like on the way back. I had never thought of that before but it is brilliant. Another idea is to mark your path with something that can't be easily removed or erased. Like carving into a tree.

I am from the UK and we don't have guns and people here would be appalled at guns in the UK as with Europe.
People who are outraged by guns don't understand the necessity of owning and knowing how to use them when out in the wilderness in many parts of the world. Here in the UK we don't have any dangerous wildlife however there are plans to reintroduce wolves back in Scotland now it has been very heavily reforested.
If I live in the US and wanted to go out into the wilderness I wouldn't dare go without a good gun, bear spray and a satellite locator.
Just a heads up. Recently the Nova Scotia Army ran a psyop on their citizens, pretending to release packs of wild wolves in the area. They were caught forging documents, plagiarizing their logo and even used speakers to mimic the sound of wolves. It's sounds insane, but the Army just shrugged it off as a "mistake". Never did explain the speakers part though. I recall a number of years back where they had also said they were releasing wild wolves in Idaho...now I wonder if that also wasn't a psyop to instill fear or identify certain personalities within community. Who knows, there's a huge push to re-wild the land and move all people into big city hubs and off the land. I don't do anything unarmed, had a sick raccoon charge me once. Small target moving fast, not scared at all took four shots to just stop him. You just never know, i was just lucky at that time to keep my kids protected.

I live in a heavily wooded area and see all kinds of critters but, for now at least, they seem to keep their distance - well, all of them except for the squirrels who have absconded with sandwiches and cat food.
Oh my God. That is so strange. It can't be a coincidence. The forest service wouldn't be trying so hard to stop you if there was nothing strange going on. I think that their actions are unforgivable.

In my first career, I ran child development centers. I would often counsel my teachers: Don't let the kids who are squirming or chattering or being a distraction draw your attention and drain your energy from your intention. Instead, focus your energy on the kids who are listening and attentive. Some of the others will quiet down and pay attention. Those who don't, weren't ever going to anyway.
I know it's difficult, but let's be honest. Some people are just attention seekers. Maybe they're lonely. Maybe they're angry. Maybe they aren't (as my mother used to say) the brightest stars in the universe. Whatever. Ignore them. Reward those of us who are here listening and paying attention, without complaining. We want to hear what you have to say... and most of us understand why you're armed in the wilderness, and know how to hit the "skip ads" button.

As a 5th generation Idahoan and a hunter, we were always told “ never go to the selway alone”, maybe this was part of the reason why! And I think this has been going on for a lot longer than we know, my great grandfather was born in 1898 and he was the one who told us the warnings.
That is very, very interesting. What is the local lore? Is there anyone to contact about this? The "old timer's" were in possession of extremely valuable information, it always brings to mind the late 80's Cinderella hit, "Dont know what you got, till its gone". There are a diminishing number of old woodsman left in the newly semi- rural small town I inhabit. I feel frustrated and ashamed that I have not sought out their insight and knowledge. One old fella was dismissed by my father's younger generation as "FULL OF IT", Yet the more I look into his old "Tall tales" the more they are validated and he is vindicated.

My wife and I grew up in Idaho County. Kooskia, to be exact. I remember multiple missing persons searches every hunting season. We still camp on the Selway River. The disappearance I find strange is the PA. The others I could skip over and not think anything strange as a 50 foot hike to use the head can be deadly in that area. I've been all over the woods where they were filming. Definitely some spooky vibes up there when alone. It is weird to see my home area come up on one of your videos, Dave. Keep up the good work. We have no clue how much exists in our wild lands that hasn't been "discovered." Glad to see you carry a firearm as well.

The disappearance of Terrance Woods is disturbing and when you find out 3 other people went missing in the same area the same day it becomes more difficult and uncomfortable to think about. These people have families that must face the fact that their loved one is gone with no explanation and it makes me ache inside. Someone out there knows what is happening to these people - you have to keep investigating Dave - do not stop until this mystery is solved.
David, I grew up on the Eastern side of that mountain area in Montana. It is the largest wilderness area in the contiguous States. There are people that live permanently In Those mountains because they are criminals. You will remember the female Olympic skier that was abducted in Montana some time ago. My sister in law’s brother was a deputy sheriff that worked on that case. There are usually two things that make a person take off running like that. Fear is associated with both. Fear for you safety is one, fear for someone else’s life is another. Instead of running away from something maybe that young man saw something that prompted him to a flight of rescue. There are other disappearances on the Montana side that have never been solved.
Thank you Mr. Paulides for discovering,,, in my opinion,, one of the greatest unexplained mysteries of our time. They are thought provoking that is for sure. Yes, they are just shit stirrers. I only got 5 pop up ads but it is the content that is important, so I don't know why the minority want to whine about the ads. I flew air search and rescue for civil air patrol in the sierras in California . Plenty of pilots never file a flight plan or carry essential survival gear for a short flight over extremely rugged terrain and it’s often days before someone reports them missing. Happily sometimes an eyeball search of the home airfield locates the plane on the ground because the pilot changed their mind and didn’t actually fly. One time I was flying over some tall peaks with no tree or brush cover looking for a fresh missing plane when we saw a wreck out in plain site. The funny thing is it went missing 50 years earlier and was never found,..until now! How could that be since searches routinely fly over this exposed location every time someone is missing? It’s like it just vanished and reappeared no mortal remains of its crew either it took a ground search team a few days to reach it and determine it was lost 50 years ago.
Oh no, please don't leave UA-cam :( I love your content, but wouldn't be able to afford a paid subscription. Please don't let the rest of us lose out because a few folks can't put up with a few ads. You need to make some money for your hard work and I'm sure the majority don't have a problem with ads. Please don't let those who complain spoil things for the rest of us - and you. Perhaps there are more reasons that he didn't talk about that are influencing his decision to think about leaving UA-cam above that of just a few people complaining about ads.

I’ve just retired a few months ago, and cannot afford another danged thing, as I’m sure a lot of people who’ve been laid off or lost their regular income, just can’t afford any additional charge of any kind. Thank you for this consideration. And thank you for keeping us informed of the fact that not all disappearances are explainable or cut-and-dry. If they CAN be explained- those explanations need to be out in the open. We need to be told the truth about the hidden facts of our universe.

I crushed a fenur back in 2006 and im telling u people, u cant walk, crawl, or even drag urself. U would be stuck and it would not be a good way to leave this world. I was in that area October 5,1983 and experienced close call while tracking a deer. Got lost, wave of panicked going myself having to calm myself and bushwhacked my way to a Forest Service road. Guy that picked me up gave me a ride back to my truck. 12 miles away. Weirdest experience of my hunting career. There is something up there.

UA-cam puts the commercials in so frequently because, of the algorithm. They want you to stay as long as possible watching Dave's videos. They also believe by inundating you with commercials that you will eventually upgrade to the paid UA-cam services. Think of Dave's channel as a really good restaurant with a long line. The line is inconvenient, but the food is definitely worth it. Also it just so happens the meal at the excellent restaurant is free. Much love!

I first saw Terrence’s parents on a panel of AA parents who were looking for missing children... so I researched the area/the mind he was in .... was flabbergasted that he disappeared in front of folks... then I read about the lady who went missing with her dog... I was like WTF... her story gave me the creeps

If someone wants a sponsor or want to advertise they will do it or play commercials themselves. A lot of people have been demonized which means they get absolutely nothing for their content. Almost everyone has been demonitised that doesn't go along with the narrative. Not sure if Dave makes money or not but it's his right to.

Thank goodness there were witnesses to what happened to the man who ran down a hill and into the woods. That may provide more insight into these occurrences than any of the evidence (or lack thereof) gathered so far.
Personally I see the ads as a way to support my favorite UA-camrs. So I watch them usually at least for a minute or two (same as if you were watching NBC, ABC, CBS on TV). I respect you enough that I know you will make the best decision for yourself and your followers. Keep telling people about the disappearances so more and more people remain safe out there. Thanks!
