I don't know if its just me but this song gives off a feeling of desperation, most people say it doesn't belong in CP because it doesn't fit. But I believe that it does, the song itself to me at the very least (don't know how to explain it well) gives off this dimensiony vibe. It gives off the feeling of desperation because they're finally given a chance to escape this dimension of Heavenly Host and yet they're close but yet to face the upcoming struggles.

@D1G1T47 D3SPA1R to be honest I feel its a bit of both. By that point theyve gathered enough clues to finally feel like they have a grasp on possibly having some way to get out, which is a feeling led by determination, but at the same time that determination is massively led by desperation for wanting to solve the mystery and get out as quickly as possible. So I dont think anyone's wrong here, I definitely got the feeling of both when playing the game during that chapter
It gives the sense of tension/rapidly evolving environment. Honestly I think it fits very well.

In case anyone is wondering, the actual name of the track from the OST is "Ray of Hope".
I always loved how the BGM for each segment sets the tone for the characters' mental states.
Then you get to the True End path in chapter 5 and it fills you with determination!
All kidding aside, I call this track Resignation against an unjust fate. Because that's the emotions it portrays a fight to bitter end.
I know it's late and you probably knows this already but the track is actually "Ray of Hope", a more fitting name imo

This is the point of no return for me and all these characters. there's no time to second guesses but to fight back and try to save what they still have.
For all that they went through, the horrors they endured and witnessed. There is hope and it is infectious. this is the first time the music is even upbeat and dear I say dare I say it triumphant. Everything up to this point has been on edge, subdued, fear-inducing, chilling. Not here!
The school has played with us up to this point, well not anymore. Not for these kids. They have reached a threshold others have only dreamed.
A Ray of Hope. For Escape.
They will not back down and neither us the player when we are so close.
We are going to figure out this truth and escape if it's the last thing we do.
And this theme encapsulates all of this.

Then the C2 and C3 BGM's are kinda sad, after which the C4 BGM is like you've reach the edge of what you can take, and then comes C5, which is all "Alright, we've had enough. Let's get out of here.", and then comes this, which is "Final step, then we're out!"
That's why I love Corpse Party.
