The first idea for this song was created during a spontaneous psychedelic journey I embarked on with three friends a few years ago.
I was processing and healing from a break up in that phase and was integrating the detachment from my ex partner, slowly finding joy again in being in my own company.
During the night I kept singing the melody of the Chorus of Home again and again like a mantra. At some point I was releasing a lot of pain and cried, being held by my friends.
In the morning when we all went to bed I tried laying down next to each one of my friends to cuddle up and fall asleep.
I noticed a resistance while trying to connect with each one, noticing that my longing for closeness had been coming from an energy of scarcity.
I went outside on the balcony and enjoyed the sunrise by myself, choosing to be just with myself and that that was enough.
The sky was completely dipped in colours and the birds were flying in between their treetop homes over the still sleeping city.
I felt this burst of self love emanating from my chest and I saw an immense bright light beaming from my chest, where my solar plexus chakra lies.
All of a sudden tears of happiness were streaming down my cheeks.
A happiness I hadn’t felt in so long, maybe never.
It was an intense love for myself and all beings and plants. The colours in the sky, the music I was listening to, every fibre of my body.
Arriving home within myself.
Discovering my inner light.

so what is that which you call home?
In the video description I wrote the story of how I received this song and the message it entails ☺
The place inside our heart & solar plexus chakra is what I call "home".
I saw an immense bright light beaming from my chest for the first time during the experience I have described. For me this was a mini awakening to my true nature, making it possible to love myself so much more and have a way deeper appreciation for our universe and its magic, every single plant and being.
I also describe the feeling that I had since a young age, that I am a free spirit, which can feel at home anywhere, because I carry my home, my body, with me. My mother moved around with me a lot when I was a child, so I learned to adapt to new surroundings and make new friends quickly.
The more I can connect directly with mother earth, without many layers, the easier it is for me to feel this connection. Therefore the lyrics "Only structure I'll ever need - warm soil underneath my feet". (If you know me, you know that is the reason why I have the wish to live in the tropics/jungle where I can mostly walk barefoot with as little clothes as possible🌞)
Living in cities, we accumulate so many things in boxes and more boxes and more boxes. Disconnecting us from the feeling of tribe and mother nature. When I am more directly connected to nature and community, I have less of a need to consume and buy things because my heart is already so full and I am so in the moment, just enjoying life.
Connecting to nature through my bare feet and feeling the energy of the trees charge me, feeling all the abundance that is already within this simple moment, connecting me to my soul and spirit.
This is feeling is "Home" for me. 🤍
