      Thanks Paul! Yeah if you've got some more room at the top of your budget, might be worth looking for better models.

    Heard rumors that a major trolley manufacturer is working on a AI-driven system with lidar sensors and a submeter GPS receiver. Autonomous driving and follow me functionality is achieved by connecting the system to the motor controls. In a ‘programming round' you can define parking postitions at each green and tee box and route safe paths around bunkers and hazards on the display. When playing an 'advance function’ drives the trolley to the next parking postition, so e.g. when hitting the green from 160 yards you could take out the putter and press advance and the trolley moves to the position beside or behind the green. From there to the next tee and so on. With the additional remote control one could still pause the autonomous driving when e.g. a playing partner hits his ball. Then just press continue and the trolley advances on its own. Of course one can always steer by hand in uncertain terrain. This is probably the future of electric trolleys.

      Thanks Tiger Army for the in-depth comment, I hope you enjoyed the video. I guess that makes a lot of sense to have an 'auto-trolley', which could potentially stick to paths and avoid unnecessary damage to a course. Although as you say the golfer would still need to be paying attention to make sure the trolley doesn't come un stuck by an unavoidable object.

    I just bought the FX3 and I love it apart from an annoying "plug and play" rattling battery when travelling around the course I wish they'd put some kind of rubber seal in for the battery to sit on, great trolley though.

      Very good point David, wouldn’t have cost much to add a bit of padding. As you say though, still a great trolley

    I love how plastic bags work better than most anything I think using something that doesn’t cost anything is smart. I broke down and bought the deluxe mgi zip navigator all terrain model from Costco but I don’t have any choices in the United States I had to buy the remote control one oh well it’s way more than I normally budget but 300 off so I bought it I’m extremely excited

    Hi. Great review. I bought an FX3, but not happy. I'm 6 feet tall and have to walk bent over to reach the controls ah handlebar (for steering) even with the height adjustment at its max. I have the umbrella holder, but it's too low for me...
    Also if you take the wheels off for transport, the spindle are greasy and stick out a lot.

    • @GolfGuyReviews
      @GolfGuyReviews  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching, sorry to hear you're not happy. You're right about the wheels, but they need the grease on the axel, so I just don't take them off. I'm 6ft and I'm OK with the handle bars at the highest setting, although I would lift them higher if I could.

    I bought one of these today, only 18 hole, but managed to get it for £483 not bad, but its bigger than my old powerbug, which fitted in the boot of my little honda jazz, with golf bag on top, parcel shelf down as well, I used to boast to my mates about it,, I won't be able to do that anymore, I'm going to have to buy a bigger car to fit it in now,, I give up lol,, Great Review, what would we do if we didn't have guys like you

      Thanks for your support Colin! I’m planning to do a long term review now I’m coming up to a full 12 months with it.
      Yeah the size of the main issue, as you say I have to remove the parcel shelf too in my Ford B-max, so it is a trade of for buying one of the cheaper units really (not that £500 is cheap! 🤣)

    Good idea with the plastic bag! I have the issue of the front wheel making my bag dirty.
    FX3 has been great for me. Had 2 Motocaddy’s before with annoying faults/ issues (not turning off when you pressed the button/ tipping back when turned on and GPS disconnecting).
    Part of me wishes I’d got the CT6 so it folds down smaller!

      Thanks for watching Drew! The front wheel makes your bag dirty? I’m
      Guessing it doesn’t sit on it quite right. Can’t say I’ve had that problem.

    Great review , really considering purchasing one. How does the trolley operate in the rain though? Can it be used whilst playing in the rain? Sometimes rain springs on your game unannounced so it cannot easily be predicted !!

    • @GolfGuyReviews
      @GolfGuyReviews  3 роки тому

      Thanks Sacks. I used it through last winter, and on a couple of times it really rained hard. The FX3 didn't miss a beat. The only thing I'd say is that I did have to purchase the winter wheels for it, but that was a requirements by my course to keep using it during the winter, rather than due to a lack of grip. I hope that helps, and don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already :)

    Cheers 👍🏻

    • @GolfGuyReviews
      @GolfGuyReviews  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks FordF. My instinct says yes and you should be fine, assuming your bad as a cut out like this one - static.golfonline.co.uk/media/img/btourcrt20_70_3.-x1000.jpg
      The trolley should still work with bags that don't have the cut out - there's just more of a chance of the bag rolling off or making the trolley unstable. My bag isn't specifically designed to work with t, but the cut out at the bottom of my bag works pretty well with it and I haven't had any problems.
      If you're seriously considering, I'd be tempted to check with Powakaddy if you're not sure...and them come back and use my link :)

    • @GolfGuyReviews
      @GolfGuyReviews  3 роки тому

      Hi Paul, thanks for watching.
      The HET feature is an optional extra on the FX3, which I haven’t got, so I can tell you how well it works I’m afraid.
      But as I understand it, it keep the speed more constant when going down hill, so the trolley doesn’t run away from you if you’re not holding on....But I just hold on to it when going down hill, and I’ve never had a problem 👍

    500 pounds? Guys, you should make your own electric trolley. I spent ~$200 and converted a $49 used pull cart to a remote controlled electric trolley. Almost two years still can run at least 36 holes with a single charge. I am thinking Kickstarter campaign to sell it but it is not good timing under pandemic.
