I don’t use Apple Music (or any music service) so I’m not sure, but it should be possible if you convert a standard automation to a Shortcut in the Home app - if it’s an option within Shortcuts.
Hi, I’ve just spoken to someone who has an Apple Music subscription, and they confirmed that you can use the Cube or any other wireless button or controller to launch playlists, albums, songs, podcasts etc.
@@Paw_Low hi, I tested it earlier today, and you can program each face of the cube to play a different playlist, album, track etc. as long as you have an Apple Music account. You also don’t need to convert the automation to a shortcut.
Very informative video, I have placed an order for the new Cube now that it is released in Australia. So no one is going to ask the name of the lamp at 3:20 ? I know inside is a philips hue bulb but could you please tell me what lamp is it? Thanks
Hi, in the Aqara app, select the cube from the the list in the ‘accessories’ section, then tap on the three dots in the top left hand corner. Then select ‘more settings’ and the ‘present mode’ and make sure it’s set to ‘scene mode’. It should then be exposed to HomeKit. It will initially be in the same room as the hub it’s connected to, but you can change that in the Home app. If it’s already in Scene mode but isn’t visible, try switching to Action mode, click save, then switch back to Scene mode, and save again.
@@homekitnews Thank you for your answer! My problem was that I didnt know that it will be placed in the room with the hub and I have alot of homekit stuff so it hard to find new things sometimes. Another thing, I dont get the cube icon that you have, mine is like my wall switches, were can I change that?
@@martincarlberg9671 Hi, in the Home app, prior to iOS16, only wireless buttons will show as squares with a circle in the middle. That has now changed, so my Cube T1 Pro shows as a double switch. You can't change it either.
Hi fantastic video again I can’t even buy the T1 Pro on AliExpress do you know when they are going to release it in the UK and EU thanks forgot to say I have noticed on the video you have the Aqara S1 switch Panel I hope you do a video on it to see if it worth buying
Hi, I feel confident that the Cube T1 Pro should be released internationally around October, as I know they have had EU and US beta testers using it for a while now. Yes, I keep planning to do a video on the S1 panel and the MagicPad S1, but I just have to figure out how best to approach them together in one video.
Thanks. Just to let you know, I will be releasing a video featuring three Aqara LED display panels soon (finally). S1 switch panel, MagicPad S1, and S1E.
Informative Video .. I purchased this Cube T1 pro few days back. I enabled Actions instead of Scenes in more settings, to integrate with Alexa. All 6 actions are visible in Alexa app as devices. I created an alexa Routine using 90 deg flip (as one of the device) of the cube to trigger a wifi enabled Light to switch On. I tried this routine, but its not working !.. Would be grateful for your advice on this.
Hi, I’m not sure how to advise you on this, as I don’t use Alexa, only HomeKit. I’ll ask if any of my smart home colleagues might know what the issue might be, and get back to you.
The reason I ask is that the Cube T1 Pro is only supported on the China server at present, and the China server doesn’t support Google or Amazon. The cube T1 Pro is on the US server too, but I think until it’s officially released there the US server may probably not push it to Alexa and Google. It’s also important to note that I’ve heard some hubs can now identify where a child device is from, based on the serial number during pairing, which then blocks it’s from being exposed to third party platforms or in some cases, even the Aqara app. So, if your cube is from China, this might be a reason why.
@@homekitnews Hm. Really? "directly"? This would imply that it can be connected "directly" with an Apple Home Hub. But in your video it appears that the Cube first has to be connected to an Aqara Hub before it can be exposed to HomeKit. Is that so? So only buying the Cube and hoping to be able to integrate it into Apple Home won't work, right? An Aqara Hub is mandatory and has to be bought, too, right?
@@StefanWolfrum sorry, when I say ‘directly’ I’m saying so in comparison to the original cube, which you could get to work with HomeKit via HomeBridge or via a few fancy workarounds. The Cube T1 Pro still needs an Aqara hub, but it’s officially compatible with Apple HomeKit, which isn’t the case with previous generations. Sorry for the confusion.
I can't wait to play with this. I love that it works natively now.
Great video Simon, Awesome to see Homekit compatibility on this Aqara cube now!
Thanks Brad, it should be coming to international shores soon!
Could you use this to lunch Apple Music playlist on your HomePods?
Each side a different playlist or genre

Hi, it’s a Fado white lamp from Ikea. They do this one and a clear, smoked glass version I believe.

PLEASE! Do a review of the Aqara MagicPad S1 !!! 🙏🏻 is it the same as the Aqara Smart Scene Panel S1? Please!!!
It’s planned, hopefully soon. The scene Panel S1 and the MagicPad are different devices even though they’re capable of similar things.

Where did you buy it?
I purchased it online from the Chinese store Taobao, but hopefully it’ll be released internationally soon. You can try AliExpress too.
What device is on the right side at 5:24?
The alarm panel is by Abode, and the LED display for controlling an AC is the Aqara S1 Panel. www.aqara.com/cn/productDetail/d22
This is very confusing but promising
