Soccer coach Hannes Wolf is head coach of the German U20 national team and also Director of Young Talent, Training and Development at the DFB. He is also jointly responsible for the “Training Philosophy Germany”, which aims to revolutionize training in children's and youth soccer. We talk to the former Bundesliga coach about this in an interview for “Inside the Coach's Head”.

Die gute alte Fußball Zeit ist leider vorbei. Im Zeitalter Social Media und der Hype um anderen Sportarten wie z.B. MMA, Boxen, spielen immer weniger Kinder Fußball. Wenn Sie spielen ist die Qualität ziemlich schlecht. Die meisten jungen Kinder spielen zwar Fußball, aber die wenigsten haben Hunger daraus mehr zu machen. Zudem kann man kaum noch irgendwo einfach mal Fußball spielen, Stichwort: Plätze gesperrt, nur für Vereinmitglieder etc. Da kann der Hannes noch so viel reden und Vorschläge machen, die Zeit ist leider vorbei (sagt einer der sein ganzes Leben dem Fußball gegeben hat)

Ich habe eher das Gefühl, dass Kinder bei kaltem, nassen Wetter nicht mehr raus dürfen.

@@janfifazocker4245 ja, tatsächlich. Aber Hilfreich ist das nur bedingt. Weil Turnhallen sind oft durch Sportarten belegt, die immer dort sind. Wie Handball, Basketball, Tischtennisetc. Die machen leider nicht sofort Platz, wenn es draußen kalt wird. Und Fussball ist immer noch eine Outdoor Sportart. Da muss man in Deutschland auch mal bei 5 Grad und Regen spielen.
