- Katharine Birbalsingh , the founder of Michaela Community School in Wembley, North London, is known for her tough stance on discipline. But now the outspoken teacher, who some have dubbed ‘Britain’s Strictest Headteacher’ has caused controversy among parents and colleagues. In a recent Tweet, she told parents they should teach their children after school ‘daily’ and that they shouldn’t ‘assume they are being taught well at school’. Dividing options with her comments, Katharine joins us now to share her views.

Ms.Birbalsingh, you are AMAZING! And learning IS fun. It’s just the mindset parents have ~ they think it should be the school’s responsibility entirely to teach life skills besides imparting knowledge. I’ve watched multiple of your interviews and it resonates with me as a parent to take on some responsibility in my child’s learning experience/life. 😊

This is wembley, they don't all earn 200 grand a year like some.
I absolutely love this woman's philosophy. I wish that I could have spent my thirty years of teaching in her school. This should be the standard across the U.S., instead of the decay that we are seeing today. Spread the word about her.
