Aly, thank you thank you thank you from NZ. I have just started painting again. I haven't done so since I was 15. Just turned 73 !. The techniques/rules were so different back then. I came across your video this morning and WOW what an inspiration you are... loved EVERY MINUTE of your fun and energetic demonstration. Fast, fun , with only one brush and few colours. Am so excited I ready to find out what I can do now. This is no fear painting and right in the now. I am now going to teach my Granddaughter. Lots to look forward too. x

@@sadieleclere1662 well I encourage you to try speed and I have a few demos on my channel with ways to do that. I think it is listed in the most viewed videos. But in brief you simply set a timer and when the timer goes, you are finished! Having your expert confidence is what we all want to tap into! You had barely started when I thought “I’d hang that on my wall!,” and then I blinked abd you had gone whizzing along. Mixing black in with your yellow and putting on the paper! Black! I almost shouted. Then saw what YOU, the very talented professional knew exactly what would and wouldn’t work and just got on with it! No holding back ! So impressive Aly…please by thought process,send all of us so confidence thoughts so we too can pick up our bushes, put yellow (and black,! )on our brushes and just go for it! Your roses picture is really lovely, wish I could claim as my work!😉😉 just one question which I don’t “think” I missed, but did you prime your canvas before starting please? I love this heavy canvas and get it online , will check the name. As for the yellow and black- haha that’s so funny that it panicked you. I teach mostly with just the primaries and black and white so have adapted a few wee things like that where the shift in tone helps it * just enough* to vary the shade. To me the painting is far from perfect but I’ve realised over time that what I present and if I can teach others to trust themselves, it’s where the engagement of an audience can come in!! Reallly, thank you and keep painting!! What a fab community on here that I never knew existed
