In early 2016 I was talking to one of my best friends about the ludicrous idea that trump might be elected president. We’re Canadian so we were just observing the circus. When I mentioned how ridiculous I thought it was that a shady character like trump who I’ve suspected for years, was money laundering, he said that there would obviously be handlers to keep trump in line and he was just a figure head. I’ve never forgotten how badly that assertion has aged.
In 2016, I asked an American friend about Trump's exaggerated popularity. She replied that Trump says out loud what a lot of people were thinking.
