In the 1990's Kuki and Nagas clashed. The outbreak of ethnic violence began over the control of the Moreh area and spread to the rest of the state. Not only deaths but huge and permanent displacements of populations of the two communities resulted from it.

I lost my father during this so-called War which I really wish did not happen. My Dad was an evangelist to the Kuki and Zou tribe. He had a lot of friends from these communities, and also married a Zou woman. He knew the language and was loved by all. Elders from these villages and my old village told me that My Dad was the greatest fisherman they have ever seen( if u know my villagers, they are many excellent fisherman).To think that he topped the chart makes me feel proud of him. I have learnt to forgive and have forgiven who so ever killed my Dad. Trust me! it was not easy.... However with God in your heart, eventually you learn to forgive.
