    G'day Buildzoid,
    Gotta make sure you don't forget the L in the Video Title as that would be a very different Stretching Test...
    😲Buildzoid did WHAT! with his 980Ti 😂

    Gonna have to go back to the old school days and record the screen.

    While it obviously sucks for overclockers for whom X MHz in software doesn't actually translate to X MHz in hardware, I think it's kind of impressive how well Nvidia cards can clock stretch to save themselves from crashing because the voltage is too low to support the target frequency.

    The 980-Ti is the only gpu I ever burned. A little flame, done, she served me well tho.

    Doesn't the voltage slider in software just allow access to go further to the right on the VF curve - so you only gain anything when your limit reason is Vrel.

    I had 2 ref pcb gtx980ti in SLI. One clocked over 250mhz higher than the other and scored better than the other at same clock speeds. And the worse of the two randomly completely died after just over 2 years. I used it as the bottom card and it usually ran about 5°C hotter but still below 65.

      Kill a GPU for 250mhz. Useless for gaming and for heavy workload, way better undervolt overclock in specific

    a 3dmark steel nomad video would be nice. dx12 and vulkan.

    .would help if you actually explained or even mentioned what clock-streching actually is. Never heard of it.

    image what would happen if buildzoid had the "samantha" from the movie her :)

    Hey BZ is there any specific reason why you are using driver 512.95 and not the latest one?

    • @ActuallyHardcoreOverclocking
      @ActuallyHardcoreOverclocking  4 місяці тому +1

      512.95 is the last one where the afterburner voltage slider works.

      @@ActuallyHardcoreOverclocking Nice video. Try an older Asus GPU Tweak version and you should be able to increase voltage on Maxwell GPUs with newer drivers. If I remember correctly you need to be under v3xxxx.

    Do all maxwell GPUs clock stretch?

    I was trying a volt mod on a 20 and 40 series card and managed to increase the voltage output from the vrms but the gpu core seems to be rejecting the extra voltage.
    Like the vrms can be outputting 1.25v but the core will adamantly stay at 1.1v
    I asked a few overclockers and they said this is due to a vbios lock and can only be bypassed by using XOC vbioses?

    • @ActuallyHardcoreOverclocking
      @ActuallyHardcoreOverclocking  4 місяці тому +2

      you mean the software reads 1.1V even when you set the voltage to 1.25 using a volt mod?

    • @OTechnology
      @OTechnology 4 місяці тому +4

      Software can't read the real voltage.
