It appears like she's trying to pursued an innocent helpless victim image. I bet she wasn't speaking anything like that when she was pounding on the door with the pistol in hand. At that point in time she was safe and out of danger. She should of called the police at that time to retrieve her belongings and for a ride out of there. Like I said, I was with her all the way up until she went back to his apart FLOOR TO REENGAGE THE PHYSICAL ALTERATION after she already secured a ride out of there. Her emotions was a little off to me seeing how they were close and intimate. She cried when she was asked why she fire the shot. Not just the fact that he's dead from a senseless physical alteration. Only when she caused the act if taking his life. 👋🏾 bye.
tbh I wish she would've called the police and had "beyonce's cousin" get arrested for all the things he probably should have been, being a gun toting struggle rapper who shot calls on instagram and all no offense. He's certainly not innocent but she's certainly not smart.

Her defense attorney had to redirect her several times because she forgot the lies he coached her on and how/what to answer. Very obvious. So this is what passes for very clear and professional these days. Hmm 🤔
This girl is a liar! I couldntell she was lying from the moment ahe got on the stand!.Who shoots someone through a closed front door, obviously on purpose to shoot him in the head, and then tries to claim slelf defense? The door was closed! ... she was on the outside and he was.on the inside, so he could not have been a danger to her! Why? Door Was Closed!!!! Redicilous, the entire story! Then, she tries to pin the murder on his wofe, who was nowhere near the place..can you say guilty conscience?!?! If she did nothing wrong, why lie?!?!? Liar and HORRIBLE PERSON!!!
The door was also locked. First she said it went off. Then she said the gun was pointed at the ceiling. Then she said it might not have been pointed at the ceiling. It was in her right hand but the hole in the door was on the left hand side of the door knocker. Her testimony wasn't quite as obvious as the lies she told 911 when she called but still obviously lies. It was a mistake having her testify.
@@Gabriel-hf1yythe question to your statement.. why would she be banging (not knocking) at the door in the first place if she was in fear of her life though? 🤔

She’s trying to sound so innocent. But if you’re backing out with a gun in your hand. Leave the apartment an ask someone can you use the phone to call police but she had her phone. Don’t shoot the man through the door. You already out the apartment. She sounds stupid. You can get your belongings.
Well she didn’t do herself any favors. But she had no choice but to take the stand. Now she’s made it abundantly clear to everyone that she felt slighted and was desperate for her property and maybe rightly so. BUT, instead of calling police to retrieve her property she shot him. Thanks for clearing it up for us and the jury, Sasha.
She lied! Listen to the details and you can see that she jumped a step forward without mentioning what happened in between the part where she was in the kitchen on the phone then after finishing the face-time call she says she went to bed and scrolled on her phone and he entered the room turned on the light and started something. She forgot to mention that the argument began when she hung up the call while he was on the couch, then she went into the room and then he followed to tell her to leave. It doesn't make any sense that he was angry and held his argument back only to wait for her to enter HIS room to tell her to leave. It's very clear that she designed her statement to match her crime but what these murderers don't realize is that their stories are always missing the details that end up telling on them! Are there photos of physical bodily harm to prove abuse and if there is it would have been prevented if somebody tells you to leave their home then leave! Afraid for her life what a load of rubbish! He was telling her to leave and she wouldn't! I hope she gets what she deserves! Trying to control the narrative!
I know things she can be held accountable for without even shooting the gun. She left the scene of the crime, she willing went back to the scene of the crime, she indicated she held the gun up towards the ceiling and it went off at first then twords end of testimony she I indicated the gun went up while bringing her arm up while holding the gun, to shoot directly thru the door, the gun cannot be pointed to the ceiling,or being raised, then called 911 using a false name, his wife’s, threw the gun in a dumpster, hid in a hotel for 4 days, iMO it’s not looking good for her.
Its the same story every time i hear cases like this. The innocent and helpless woman having to defend herself from the angry violent man. Yet she was involved in a previous incident with another man where a weapon was used allegedly. This woman is no victim.
The way she's answering the questions. Makes me not believe her. Once you try to deter from honesty. Your whole persona is shot with me. Clearly she tried to downplay. Things with him when asked. Why the hell if your in fear. Would you go back to the apt. Before calling police to get your stuff. If she's telling the truth. She's made it hard for me. To believe her now all because she tried to downplay. Instead of just being honest about things. When ppl do that it can cause more trouble for you. Then help you all she had to do. Was just be honest about things. She used his wifes name oh wow. She had to know why lie about things. If she didn't think he was shot. For me I don't believe her now. She keeps lieing about things. Bad move to take them photos days after. Then say he did thay to her. Dont know if theyll believe her now. Knowing she shot a man. Tried to use his wife's name. Knowing they'd suspect the wife. If he beat her up why not call police. To just get your things and go. Why do all the lieing.
It’s presumably deliberate to give off the impression of him being an unbiased interrogator rather than a defense attorney with whom she’s well-acquainted and whose sole purpose it is to get her off.
Sorry for so many comments but I’m questioning things as I am watching: Why didn’t his wife say anything abuse? You don’t become an abuser overnight?!? That’s part of an abuser personality. I’ve been in abusive relationship it doesn’t happen overnight. Red flags are all over the place and his wife didn’t say anything about abuse.
Just read some of the comments. People actually believe she shouldn't be charged with murder. Mainly women. Yet you sit there and say with your delusional mind set, " there is no reason a man should ever hit a woman
She definitely did herself an injustice getting on the stand 🤦🏾♀️. This story does not work in her favor she landed herself in the guilty seat claiming self defense
I think there is a big chunk of the story missing. It goes from her cooking in the kitchen, to getting a call and then just deciding to go lay down. He obviously went to the room and wanted her out for whatever took place between those events 🤷♂️
There's a chunk because her defense team is weak and she traded acting innocent with competently defending her innocence, and this is all too convenient for prosecutors who have immense pressure on them to avenge dear ol' "beyonce's cousin."
I can’t even get through it because every five seconds there’s somebody coughing why haven’t they told the person that they need to leave? I don’t understand why through this whole entire trial if somebody in the background keeps coughing that’s so unprofessional and it’s so ghetto and it’s so tacky.
Horrible Defense Attorney!!!! If earlier, she stated that she was banging on the door with the gun... Her attorney could have re-questioned her at the very end with, "what were you doing with your right hand, when the gun went off?"
She was getting away with this behaviour for too long. She thought she could talk her way out of this one too. Mothers need to lock up their sons if she ever gets out again.
I hope the jury sees thru the fake soft spoken facade. (If her music is anything like that artwork they displayed... she needed to look for a new profession.)
NOTICE the story gets shaky starting 36:53 where she stood and explained how the gun went off. Should have taken your plea deal of 20 and ran! Real evidences in this case can’t be manipulated 😢🥺
This could have been avoided if after she left, call 911 and waited instead of asking for a charger, waiting to get a little charge and didnt call 911. Going back to the apartment. To me, she wasn't afraid to go back and confront him. Let alone being suspected in another's boyfriends death. 😮

Did not help. She states she pulled the trigger and even said wanted to get attention and was angry. Has no emotion regarding the fact she shot this man!!! and no way jumped over that counter
She to is a victim, she survived his attack he didn’t survive hers both are victims that’s why you keep your hands to yourself and off these women stop trying to be hard and call 911 he pulled a gun on her in the past im ole school street code you live by the gun you die by the gun, she shouldn’t have ever known where that gun was and he knows he beat her at will, and pull pistols and that don’t make a man hard.. This is sad on both end a Mother lose her son and this woman loose her life sad
She’s it’s calm she is breaking down inside you can see it her cheeks get real flush and red at times, she seem like she was about to cry when she was describing the events at the beginning
Let’s be real people…most ppl have been in situations where at some point in their lives they were involved in a fight/argument that they should have just walked away from. But for those who say she should have walked away, walk away and go where? He had her stuff, money etc. I think he should have thrown her stuff outside the door when she went to charge her phone but you see he was still playing games. That’s why God says, “those without sin may cast the first stone”. Both we’re equally wrong in my eyes. I’m not judging either one. Besides, NO ONE can say how they would have handled that situation unless you were in that situation. Of course it’s easy to say what she/he should have done after the fact but truth is it’s never that simple. I don’t feel she intended to kill him. This was a life changing mistake that came from hurt, anger, physical pain (I.e., from pics) but was instigated by the one who lost his life. May he rest in peace. Truth be told, she was doomed the day they met. Lesson here is if you’re in an abusive relationship leave. But guess what people …people RARELY just walk away. I pray she is released when God says so, not the judge, the jury, or people in this world who is in NO POSITION to cast the first stone. May God give peace to both families bcuz she too was a victim ❤❤

Do not make excuses for her. She made her choice.
She may not have meant to kill him, but the fact is that she did, and there are consequences she must face. There's no way she can say "My bad" and move on.
She mentions that she went "over" the countertop (with room to spare, as to not knock any of the Chinaware off); but at evidence picture at @30:55 (where the overturned chair is asked about) shows 4-complete and undisturbed sets of Chinaware. And wouldn't that sofa be some sort of obstacle to her gymnastic move? I'm all about a woman defending against and fleeing from the danger; but "WHY" go back to the danger that had you fearing for your life? 1) It was his residence; 2) You are away from said 'danger' / 'fear'; 3) That "stuff" could have been replaced or the police could've secured it for you; and 4) What in the Jack n' Jill was she thinking about when using his wife's name on the 9-1-1 call???
She's a cold blooded killer. She knew she had shot Martell through that door. That's likely why she shot through the door with the gun as she knew he was behind it to shoot and kill him.
My question is, how did she know exactly where he was standing behind the door to hit him? He's behind a door and she can't see where he's at behind it. So a lucky shot I guess?
As she was knocking on the door, she threw the gun up and the gun went off 🫤. They couldn’t come up with anything more believable?🙄 She should’ve grabbed her belongings when she was told to leave in the first place.
This young woman didn’t realize her value. She didn’t have to be in this relationship to recieve this mans validation. Nor with any other man for that fact. She lost her life behind a man!
I believe they fought, I believe she was scared but the lieing and the going back with the gun is what makes me believe she had let her anger rule and shoot him. A series of escalated events.
How scared could she be? He went into the room and asked her to leave, and she asked why. She's seems to be the aggressor. She is devious. ..telling the police that she's the wife is diabolical. Don't believe a word she says.

Anytime you come back to a place you claim you were afraid to be, whatever happens is because you chose to come back. She wasn't afraid. She was angry.

Then when the district attorney asked her why she shot the gun she said she didn't know why she did it on purpose but that she was mad! That's what sealed the deal! 🤝
Yep
Yea she’s not too bright at all. Also how you jump over the counter and not knockin anything down. Especially with a gun in her hand
but it's the truth. Why didn't she leave?
They were going to get her anyway. And if she murdered someone we should want that anyway.
You don't take a gun unless ur planning on using it.
I bet she wasn't whispering when she was shooting through the door.
According to reports this is not the first time she has shot someone she was dating.
47:54 She realizes her life as she knows it-is no more. She rejected a plea of 20 years. Wow.
She said their was a physical fight & she was able to leave his house. Instead of calling police or an Uber she knocks on a neighbour's door for a phone charger! Then she goes back & knocks on his door with her gun yet he wouldn't answer. She was mad & she probably told him I just want my stuff & he decided to open the door but didn't get the chance bc she shot him as soon as he went to the door. It's tragic & he's not here to tell his side of the story. And once again this young man was shot dead by the defendant. I don't believe that she didn't know he was on the other side. She's in the wrong she took this so called one sided fight to the next level & she knows damn well what she had done bc she wouldn't have dumped her gun it makes no sense & giving authorities a different name. If she feared for her life she wouldn't have gone back & being intoxicated is no excuse. She was mad bc he wasn't going to let her back in. This is murder plain & simply. Ontario, 🇨🇦
Exactly.
She can't make this murder make sense!!!
This is what happens when people do not learn conflict resolution skills in life, how to work through a problem through discussion and reasoning as an adult instead lashing out in violence.
This never should have happened. If he asked her to leave she should have done so. There don’t have to be a reason if he asked her to leave she should have left. End of story.
@@detroittone1241if that were me I would also ask for what reason most people would agree
If you in someone else house you don’t have to get a reason, you just have to leave. That was his house if he ask her to leave. LEAVE!!! Simple.

I was with her until she said she was banging on the door with the gun in one hand and the phone in the other. She's speaking extremely low and soft. 👋🏾 bye.
🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏👏🥳 someone with some DAMN SENSE
She wanted her crap
tbh I wish she would've called the police and had "beyonce's cousin" get arrested for all the things he probably should have been, being a gun toting struggle rapper who shot calls on instagram and all no offense. He's certainly not innocent but she's certainly not smart.

She tapped the door lightly with her gun and whispered, "please unlock the door and let me in."
Her story would have been more believable if she said that she banged on the door with the barrel while her finger was on the trigger tbh.
Please stop coughing or leave the courtroom, always have a cougher or 2 during a trial.
How do you know it’s not a juror, who is doing the coughing?

Soft spoken is an act! Homewrecker!
Want someone to feel sorry for her, but behind this fact, is hell😅
Wow she turned down a plea deal of 20 years and she got 55!! Wow wrong move there
I think 20 years was appropriate for murder 1; she should have took the plea.
That’s what happens when you tie up the Court when you know your guilty!
How do you shoot someone thru the door when the gun was pointed at the ceiling? And she testified that she fired the gun to get his attention.
She probably did! 🤷🏽♀️
I thought that too. You was trying to get his attention in what way? You blacken my eye so imma show you? Attention in trying to intimidate him?
When asked what her intent was when she fired the gun, she tried as hard as she could to muster up those tears. Smh. She needs to be locked up immediately
you saw that right?! Like not one little tear came....disgusting honestly.
Lmao. Those tears were far from mustered. They came out instantly. Not saying that she is innocent but very regretful for sure and it’s easy to cry behind something like that.
She don’t know anything but then somehow can give little details. DO YOU KNOW OR DON’T YOU!??? Who going through cabinets to throw dishes when you can just run!?? She’s a liar!!!! She’s guilty and I don’t believe her story at all. You was so scared of this man but he locked you out…. Not the other way around
How does she juggle her cell phone, the gun & grabbing dishes out of the cupboard to throw on the floor, yet she only has two hands? She's lying. She started smashing dishes & glasses straight away for some reason that nobody knows but her.
And the other witnesses is deceased this is horrible
I don’t know how someone with a gun is scared. I’m sure she had to hear him fall or something after the shot! If not she wouldn’t have never call 911.

Her defense attorney had to redirect her several times because she forgot the lies he coached her on and how/what to answer. Very obvious. So this is what passes for very clear and professional these days. Hmm 🤔

why didn't she take the plea deal her lawyers had to know she wasn't gonna walk free on this
Her testimony makes no sense. I pray she gets the max. A life taken too soon over nothing.
@@elizabethfischer1015if she's using the gun to knock on the door the gun will move around so it could be pointed at many angles...
@@Gabriel-hf1yythe question to your statement.. why would she be banging (not knocking) at the door in the first place if she was in fear of her life though? 🤔

She even demonstrated, again, and showed it was not straight up but was at an angle. She probably realized that a gun pointed straight up would fire into the ceiling and not into the door.
If her story were true, why not tell the police when she called them? She didn't mention being beat up or that she fired the gun. She could have even said it was an accident. She might have been found guilty if manslaughter instead of murder if she had.
1:02:30 she put the nail in her own coffin when she said she FIRED THE GUN. Not that the gun went off accidentally. Case closed. Just a matter if its voluntary or involuntary murder or manslaughter?🤔🤝
I think he caught her talking to another guy and asked her to leave and she didn't want to, so it got physical when she refused
She’s trying to sound so innocent. But if you’re backing out with a gun in your hand. Leave the apartment an ask someone can you use the phone to call police but she had her phone. Don’t shoot the man through the door. You already out the apartment. She sounds stupid. You can get your belongings.

@@Gabriel-hf1yyright.. that part
Omg she got rid of the gun because she didn’t want to walk
Around with it??! 🤔🤔
She did a dam whisper pod cast not too long before this and that's exactly what she's doing now on the stand . Awful.
If she went over the counter why are dishes still neatly on the bar and not moved?
Friends picked her up and took her to a hotel instead of to her house. Who paid for the room if she had no credit card or cash on her?
She's been in situations like this. Is she a gang member? More to this. She does not come across as believable
But you got away and then you decide to shoot him through the door. 😮 This is not self defense 😢
She tried to set the wife up. That’s why she left her name.
Its the same story every time i hear cases like this. The innocent and helpless woman having to defend herself from the angry violent man. Yet she was involved in a previous incident with another man where a weapon was used allegedly. This woman is no victim.
I’m always amazed how these accused don’t expect to be cross examined…
How do you know that?
Dead man can't tell no tales! I think he was breaking up wid her an she got mad. The breakfast counter story was ludicrous on her part
Spell check is needed here and grammar
Defense keeps addressing her as ma’am like they don’t have a real connection.
He's addressing her as ma'am to show respect.
Agree.
I mean.. the fact that he was cheating on his wife is abuse.
Having a sidechick coming to your home is an abuse on its own
How can you forgive a guy that pulled a gun on you? I will never understand that.
I agree.
Yes she did her attorney failed her on that one
I think there is a big chunk of the story missing. It goes from her cooking in the kitchen, to getting a call and then just deciding to go lay down. He obviously went to the room and wanted her out for whatever took place between those events 🤷♂️
There's a chunk because her defense team is weak and she traded acting innocent with competently defending her innocence, and this is all too convenient for prosecutors who have immense pressure on them to avenge dear ol' "beyonce's cousin."
Yup , they started fighting after that phone call that’s why she went to the room , they were drinking that’s what caused all this drama

Only way she can be that calm is having taken a sedative

It’s too sides to this story … but I can’t help to think this is the story … a terrible thing happened that night I got OUT OF HAND !!!
I agree as well. I wouldn’t leave my belongings behind. Would have been mad, scared, shaking, frustrated, emotional, trying to figure out what to do to get my things and go home. Adrenaline pumping. I feel for her. Nobody should have died but the mistakes ppl make in the heat of the moment.
You guys are amazing, it’s tragic that we have deemed shooting a fire arm at people are not choices… I guess it’s correct to forgive her, however she needs to pay her debt to society, her choices were and are poor. Let’s say it was a child that was shot instead and she did not mean to hit the child, we cannot ignore the person who’s dead. Poor choices guys promote making better choices.
