The first time I saw Johnny Winter was in 1984 in Philadelphia with my Dad.... Up until his death I saw him nine more times totaling 10 shows. It's funny that I stumbled across your channel today because I am just getting ready to order a Firebird with a settlement I just received.
@@bluesrockguitar1484 Yes indeed. Saw many shows of that tour. Loved his phrasing in the early '90's. Really crazy. I used to live in New Jersey close enough to New York City and JW lived in NYC for a long time so we got to see him everywhere he played within a 2 1/2 hour drive. It was amazing being able to see him crazy close in clubs. Did you ever get to see him in Holland?
@@bluesrockguitar1484 man there were so many great periods of JW. The one with Jon and Booby T was something too - they had to be the most heaviest and savage power trio ever. When the double bass drums kicked in the building would shake. Totally unreal. The Jeff and Tom period enabled JW to really play some tasty stuff - beyond belief. And then there was the Captured Live period, The JW And period, the Progressive Blues and early Columbia period. All GREAT! Sadly around 1995 and after things were lets say .... not as good. Can you imagine the JW of like 1991 at a Crossroads Fest jamming with all those guys? It was nice to see him included but man if he was the JW of back then they might have been afraid to invite him.
Excellent ! and great sound !
